The Last Jedi: Rekindled (Released)

Gabe, I appreciate the any effort to remove Space Walk Leia, but it is a bit too rushed as Poppa brought up, we lose the impact on the timing of the events/scenes that have been swapped around.

At one time I was dabbing around some of the scenes that have leia at the door with her hand out to show she was conscience and all for a bit and survived the attack … but it was hard to time right music wise and visually too.

I dunno, the whole hugs thing is fine as it’s been trimmed down a bit. The moma joke was too much. Recall that Poe is a pretty cocky guy. The whole point is he is trying to distract Hux to gain some time. Admittedly, Hux is the kind of guy to be caught off since he is so into himself and demands such awe inspiring respect/attention … but isn’t wise enough to catch on to such things.

Been awhile since I’ve checked out your thread and I like the whole Phasma thing! Very nice touch! Can you send me a link for your latest version.

Also, to kind of continue the topic about Jedi Boi. On Hal’s thread, we were tinkering with extending Canto Bite(s) scene that includes the balcony scene where you first see the kids. By trimming things up a little bit and removing Rose’s line about wanting to punch a hole or whatever she says about Canto, it helps connect the kids without too much more baggage from Canto. … here’s what it does: A.) We see Jedi Boi and the kids where he tries to stand up to whip dude and B.) Finn sees the ugly with Canto and the Galaxy (remember how “sheltered” he is).

I like this approach since although I applaud the heavy trimming of canto, especially the removal of the chase scene, it does feel rush as is. By reinserting these scenes, we achieve the necessary connection with the necessary trimming intact.

Here is what Hal came up with after we played around.

Personally I wouldn’t go the flashback route, as interesting of a concept as it is.

Also, I didn’t get to comment on your earlier clip with the Luke/Dream sequence. Wow! I like the direction on this. I was just imagining what kind of pain you are going to go through painting Rey out on some of those scenes. Perfect music transitions by the way.

Star Wars Episode III: Labyrinth Of Evil (Released)

I just finished watching the recent edit and I like the movie overall with all your choices!

The only “issue” i had is the scene we first see Yoda on Kashyyk in which Chewbacca was painted out. Once Yoda gets intel and is talking with Gree you hear two different wookie sounds essentially having a conversation in the background. I remember some pages back it wasn’t possible to isolate and remove some of that, but it does stick out to me.

Other than that, once again a fabulous and high quality edit that I enjoyed all your decisions and the work that was done! It is pretty much impossible to watch the vanilla prequels when we have these fantastic edits!

I like the more “dark” side feel of it since I think that was kind of implied in the movie but instead made it feel like her focusing.

I thought the transitions is good as is actually, but as always, curious to see alternative ways to see if it is an improvement.

Lastly, I too would like to hear Finn’s call out to be the last thing you hear. It would work as both a reminder of the pain Kylo has called and almost a plead for help/save me kind of thing.

All in all, I like this direction a whole lot!
