As for disk burning, I have been successful with DVDFAB for burning disks for my blu ray player. Haven’t had one issue with it thus far.
The main issue with have Kylo be the killer of her parents doesn’t really help with anything in my mind personally.
His goal is to have Rey on his side. Would using the direction of “Oh yeah, I killed Han Solo, my father who you liked. Also, I tried to kill Luke Skywalker … but too bad he was a Force Hologram. Oh yeah, I killed your parents too. Wanna join me and make out?”
I just … don’t see how that helps with anything with whatever motivation the route a person wants to go.
Man, if that can be polished all the way … that opens up some possibilities.

Anyway, the little touches you do really make the changes work well. This edit/project keeps getting better and better.
This may be a minor thing, but I was rewatching the Finn Run and noticed something. Number one, the changing of the image you used for Finn’s speeder is much better in regards to the change of the scene with its angle. Very nice.
I don’t know if this matter or not, but we see the AT’s targeting of the speeder focus next to the cockpit, just to the side of it. When you see Finn get shot down though, the explosion is/damage is to the other side of the craft. Would it be doable to change the position of the targeting of the speeder be where the damage occurs of it now being shot down instead of the collision with Rose?
I’m down with that idea, but that makes it even more necessary to come up with some way to communicate to the audience at the end that Palps is 100% for realsies dead this time, you guys - otherwise it’s just, “Well, we saw all his clone bodies earlier, clearly he’s just gonna get cloned again.”
I get your reasoning … but let’s be honest about this … We are talking about the very thing that was done for this movie. In ROTJ,he was tossed down and his “dark side energy/spirit/thingy” was released … And in this movie, again he was now viewably exploded and his energy was released. Again. We pretty much have to accept the “logic” here anyway.

So yeah, even in this movie as is Disney can do the same thing again if they wanted more Palps for Star Wars in Episode 25, The Return of the Return of the Return of Palpy.
It seems doable (for someone who is not me, anyway) to replaces the Snokes in a jar with Palpatines. It would essentially just be a still image mapped over and tracked for the shot.
I don’t know if this has been discussed yet, but apparently in the novel Palps “spirit/force ghost/whatever” is in a clone that degrades since the clone cannot house him … literally falling apart to do so. Kinda what I was expecting the direction they were going.
I like the idea of putting some Palpy bodies in those tubs to “help” answer the question why/how Palps is around … I don’t like comics/books/tweets/etc. that explain things in a movie OUTSIDE of the actual movie. We don’t ned EVERYTHING be overly explained, but for major plot points … we need some kind of answer or at least applied reasoning.
By doing what you are proposing HAL, it would help answer the question without being overly blatant and over explaining things.

Well, fair enough if you like the skipping stuff. To each their own. I just can’t get around the idea it breaks the very “rules” in Star Wars as well as bypassing what happened in the last movie about the whole “tracking thing” that needed the power of Star Destroyers to track people but now its in each TIE fighter and they can simply follow anyone they want? Also the thing about needing NAV computers to plot out courses since you would run into stuff and Poe jumps how many times with no problem?
Again each to their own … I just can’t get behind it. It’s like having a super man trilogy movie in which the first movie it’s established Kryptonite injures him but in the next one he is playing with a ball of the stuff with some friends and isn’t affected by it.
Anyway, I like a lot of your list ideas.

As for the “skipping,” I am curious about your direction here. The whole things was just … ack.
Personally, just removing the scenes all together would be cut. The scene cuts off when the falcon jumps to hyperspace through the ice. Done.
When they discuss it later with Rey … we don’t need to really understand exactly what they mean by “skipping.” Whatever they were doing, it messed up the Falcon. Heck, if someone is good with some subtle FX, we can show some sparks or something happening to the falcon as it breaks through the ice. Keep it subtle, but unconsciously we (the view) see’s he’s been rough on the Falcon.
Also yes, please remove the kiss. I hate agendas. But regardless on a personal edit I am removing it. That’ll be easy.
I’m against that deleted scene since it has unfinished effects. Also, on a personal note, I don’t think it’s needed. Doesn’t really add anything of significants.
Granted … I also like Hal’s approach to removing the caregivers all together since they were unnecessary and kind of distracting.
“Luke wants to go off to an unfindable planet and die off as a hermit … oh, but there are some natives he hangs out with” … can’t really be a hermit when you are surrounded.
Anyway, that’s just my two cents. Regardless of Caregivers or not, the third lesson is an unfinished product that doesn’t really add anything.
Since it looks like there won’t be any deleted scenes, to follow up with Krausfadr, would removing the Mustafar part and have something in the crawl that talks about it simply, like “Kylo obtained the key to find the source of his master’s power/ Haunted by mysterious whispers, KYLO REN has obtained the key to reveal the source” or something like that. (I am TERRIBLE at writing)
We don’t have to label it as “Sith Wayfinder” since the movie later tells us what it is.
I just suggest this IF having the opening scene on Mustafar raises more questions or whatever and things would flow better without it with a “simple” sentence in the crawl.

To me it seemed odd she wasn’t his great-grand daughter. Like Anakin was easily young enough to be his son - and if she was younger than Kylo-Ren then the generational gap would likely be larger? I know its all sci-fi and aging seems to be all off in star wars anyway.
If he mentioned he once had a son (that had died) to Anakin in ROTS you could build some good hooks that would satisfy both Rey’s connection to him as well as strengthen his relationship to Anakin at the same time.
Interesting thought. Just thinking about this a little. What if there is just one QUICK or something that mentions a son … heck … even just someone saying something about Palp’s kid. It could be a quick moment … even in the background to be the smallest easter egg ever.
Well … Um … I am trying to reason with idea about “It’s an empire, needs an heir to pass it on to” so he could have had some concubine thing … but nothing like that is ever portrayed in any of the previous movies.
We know Disney will come up with some comics of Palp’s getting in on with someone … but I hate that kind of sloppiness where you need to have a comic or book to explain major stuff like that.
Don’t get me started with the whole “How Luke’s Saber was found” comic that’s either coming out or is out.
Nah, I wouldn’t remove it, I don’t think. Rose saw Finn transform into the hero she mistook him for at the start, get her medallion back, and demonstrate a willingness to give his all for the cause as her sister did.
I wouldn’t remove TROS’s kiss, neither. It’s like the only sexually charged anything the whole movie!

If I remember correctly you had wanted to leave it in previous edits because no one knew what TROS would do with it, but now that we know that Finn and Rose definitely aren’t a thing, isn’t it kinda weird? I know Poppasketti did away with it by reworking the entire scene, but I’m wondering what your thought process was if you’re willing to elaborate!
