Movies Remastered has informed me of a strange pixelation in 2 shots of Rey, I do not know why it happens, but I have exported 3 times, and the third time, it has been corrected … mysteries of the edition.
I leave here a link to the 2 corrected shots. Sorry people!

You should be ashamed!

Hahah! Just kidding, the work you’ve done is amazing. Truly!

I don’t have any problem with the concept; all of the Knights wear thick enough clothing that you wouldn’t be able to tell any more than you could tell Enfys Nest was a woman. My problem is that Sollony ain’t one of the Knights of Ren we see in the flashback or in any of the supporting material. She comes out of nowhere.

It’s the Count Dooku affect obviously! Lol.

On a personal note, thinking back over my long history jacking around with this set of particular movies, I really feel like it’s time to stop. I can’t keep doing this and the obsession needs to end.

I’m going to see this project through, and give it as good a release as we can. I’ll even hold out in order to release an alternate ‘Rey Nobody’ cut.

But once it gets laid in place, there will probably not be a V2. Any and everyone will be more than welcome to take it and run with it to tweak and do with what they please. I’ll put out a lossless audio export and all.

But I have to make a decisive break with this when this is over. Otherwise I’ll see imperfections and be tempted to get sucked back into it. It served a purpose earlier in my life that was helpful, then I went back to it to do it right in 2013, and I’ve been pretty focused since. The prequels have been given several passes, the OT is about as reasonably good as I ever thought they’d be, TFA is wonderful, TLJ is nice, and TROS will be more fun. There will always be unfortunate aspects of them, imperfections, and issues. But I need to let go of them and let them lay.

I thank you all again for continuing to make this last hurrah surprisingly fun, but that’s what it’s going to be.

What a ride Hal, what a ride.

Vision or not, Ben cannot survive.

Like Darth Vader, these two were only “redeemed” by one person. The whole galaxy would not forgive these Space Hitlers. It is a simpler ending to have them die, then to have them live. Ben would have to stay in hiding for the rest of his life from THE ENTIRE GALEXY and Rey would have to hook up with him in secret since she would be aiding and abetting A MASS MURDERER.

The more I think of the “Reylo” thing it makes me roll my eyes harder and harder.

Anyway, that’s my two cents on that topic.

I have been away for a bit … but one of the other things I would look into is the removal of the Dagger’s … pop out. I rolled my eyes HARD when that happened. It didn’t make any sense. Not only was the dagger made … it had an inscription of the location of the way finder (who the person made it know where it was located … so why “write” it down. Example: I know where my parent’s house is, but I don’t inscribe the address on the key copy I made) but HE CHOSE A SPECIFIC LOCATION OVERLOOKING THE DEATH STAR II’s LOCATION TO “POINT” TO THE LOCATION OF THE WAYFINDER!

That was too much.

As much as I would LOVE to remove the dagger … that probably isn’t possible. Instead, I think it would help to remove that “pop out” dagger scene when the crew is looking at the wreckage when Rey finds that detail to “line up” the design.

Instead, when she is looking out … couldn’t we simply add the Sith Whisper sounds when Rey is looking out? That way we recognize she is being guided by the dark side? We the audience know she is still “flirting” with the dark side, especially after the Last Jedi. She is kind of mirroring Luke’s footsteps in ROTJ where he wants to be full on Jedi, but he still has that temptation. Rey is a bit similar, albeit some differences … but she is looking for a Sith thingy, so she should be “guided” by that side.

Since we the audience, who have seen/watch Star Wars Movies would recognize those whispers and understand “Hey! that area is it!” without being told it.

Anyway, that’s my two cents.

Rogue, I like your idea a lot about Palps plan being more “open” at the beginning since “we” the audience know the danger of Rey striking him down.

The work around would be Rey doing the actual striking Palps since she was so hesitant for a bit till she thought she had no other choice (untill she sensed Ben) to then change her action.

That is the key is making changes and cuts to support that. Since the idea is to change, or remove, Palps explanation at that time about the whole possessing thing there is no reason for Rey to hesitate. Since simply for her, it’s “Hey, major bad guy let’s kill him since he is the cause of all the problems.”

She doesn’t have a reason to hesitate, though “we” the audience know she sbouldnt.

So my initial thought is Ben needs to “tell her” or does something where she understands that she can’t strike him down.

Maybe a voice over of some sort during the “Rey and Ben stare” before she transfers the lightsaber over could do it? Not sure if audibly it can be done.

Don’t listen to me, but the shuttle seems kinda goofy. Like he brought that whole big thing? If it were me using it I’d cut away after Ben leaves the shot and not linger on it.

sticks fingers in ears saying “LALALALALA” loudly

😉

To be fair, for this movie you MUST suspend disbelief and accept fan service.

The movie is essentially a movie you watch after drinking a little. or a bit. Maybe a little more.

It’s weird, when I woke up I saw the shuttle and Vader’s TIE shots on his Google drive, but the Vimeo link with all the joke shots was busted so I never got to see any of them. 😦

The original TIE wasn’t really meaningful anyway, they just showed us something common that Kylo found that was flyable.

Nope. Have to disagree. As Rich Evans describes Abrams:
“His whole thing is feeling over sensible plotting.”

As much as I did enjoy TFA being “safe” in some respects, I am suddenly getting the vibe on JJ’s rational on why the heroes could see the planets being all destroyed in the sky …

That makes a lot of sense when it’s laid out like that.

In the movie it felt like, “Kill her. Or bring her to me, or… you know what, why don’t you just kill me?”

I think it’s a symptom of the movie’s breakneck pace. It’s why it’s so tragic that the movie doesn’t have any released deleted scenes, because between the novelization and the leaks, a (IMO) pretty solid movie was filmed, it just got lost in edits.

It doesn’t help that JJ Abrams seems to edit/direct movies under the belief that if he pauses the action or lets exposition run for more than fifteen seconds at a time, he will literally die. Like the movie Speed, but with bad movie editing.

So … is Jj’s style is like a shark and has to to keep moving or it’ll die?

So JJ is Micheal Bay?

Wait … have we seen the two together in public or at least a photo of them together?!
