STAR WARS: EP IV 2004 REVISITED ADYWAN *1080p HD VERSION NOW IN PRODUCTION

I think it was that needles aren't that threatening to most people, so he wanted to up the danger factor. I am neither for nor against the electric needle. It certainly doesn't make me cringe like it does some people.

Well, it does make me cringe, but only because I'm... uncomfortable around needles. So that doesn't count.

Figured you'd say that, Ady. Oh well, someone else can use it. Davnes, you can post it to the Wishlist thread for other people to be inspired by.

So, Ady, any comment on my translations?

i was editing my post above just as you posted yours. lol

That's pretty funny. Nice to see we're on the same wavelength. ;-)

and 005, good work on the translation. i can't remember exactly what i wrote on the rebel briefing displays but i'm pretty sure it was lines of dialogue from the movies

Thanks, I really hurt my eyes on some of those. Darn you for lowering the lights in the briefing room! What about the upside down single words? They seemed like gibberish. And do the arrows in the battle hologram say things?

Beautiful Davnes! I'm not sure the eyelines are perfect yet, but its an excellent concept. I think with smaller text in Aurebesh to keep it less of a distraction (love the "info" you put in, LOL), it would work well. I'm sure someone will want to use it, if not Ady.

Great work! Well worth the loss of sleep!

I translated most of it, but deleted the file before I posted it anywhere. Maybe I only found the few times you did put your kids' names in there, but I did see them often enough that I could read them without figuring it out. I was going to post screenshots with the translations written over them, but it was getting too tedious. I'm sure I'll try again someday. Heck, I've got the ISO here, I'll probably do it today.

*sigh*

I had to.

Discussing the Aurebesh text on the ESBR thread inspired me to resurrect my project of translating what I could from ANHR. Here are my results, Ady can correct me if he feels like it.

I used the DVD-5, so I'm not sure if the text is clearer on some of these with the DVD-9. I'm not sure how much help that would be anyway, since the DVD resolution isn't the best for text like this anyway.

Yay! I went through ANHR once and translated all of the text to english. This time, I hope its more than your kids' names over and over again. ;-)

Are you sure you translated it correctly? i only put my kids names in there a couple of times. there was lots of other things in there too, mainly silly stuff, but i knew that someone would try and translate the text so i thought i'd have a little fun. lol

I cant stand when I buy a cd (metallicas new album) and it sounds distorted. Louder is not better.

I haven't really heard that album yet, but just about every review I ever hear about complains about the sound quality, which is a shame. Maybe some talented editor will take a stab at it. ;) Think it could be done, based on what you hear? (if it's simply too loud and gets distorted/farty, maybe nothing can be done about it) I wouldn't be surprised if they release a remastered/fixed version someday.

not to get too off topic here, but that Metallica album had a different (read: much better) mastering for the video game "Guitar Hero" (I think it was that game). Anyway, there were fan-rips of this floating around. And Metallica (read: Lars) claimed that it was bullshit, and they wouldn't release another version of the album

To veer back on topic... I am really looking forward to listening to this set. Sounds amazing.

Here's the comparison:

It's sad really, what has happened to music...

Hahaha! I never knew that! It will indeed be a lot of fun to see what Ady sticks in there now. Anyone else have the Star Wars SE Monopoly manual, with the Aurek-Besh on the back?

Totally. What's sad is that I can almost read it without the guide...

has anyone noticed that when luke's in his ship and R2's talking and the dialogue shows up on his translator, u can't read it? i know Vaderios did a naboo mock up of it, but can we fix it so we know wat R2 is saying?

That was the first thing I ever suggested on this thread. Ady says that he will be stabilizing the text, but I'm sure he'll also give us an actual translation. Which means that someone has to come up with lines for R2-D2.

i've already redone the readout for R2's lines using the basic font. There is now a real conversation going on but i'll leave that up to someone else to translate cuz i'm keeping that secret. its more fun that way. lol

Star Wars fans - have you ever...
Time

 1. Put down your religion as "Jedi" when filling out any official forms?

No.

 2. Attempted to "use the force" to get at that out-of-reach object, instead of getting off the sofa, walking over and picking it up?

Of course.

 3. Said "I am your father" in a deep voice to your kids?

Sure will when I have kids.

 4. Found out if you can hold your breath underwater for as long as Luke did in the Death Star garbage masher?

Not sure.

 5. Said "you are beaten" after thrashing an opponent in FIFA 09 or some other sports game?

Of course.

 6. Thought "the force is strong in this one" when stuck behind an annoyingly slow driver with no opportunity to overtake?

Yes.

 7. Made humming/buzzing sounds while swinging a toy sword or broom handle around?

Who hasn't? Honestly.

 8. Referred to a computer or robot as a "droid"?

Sure.

 9. Thought how cool it would be to have a targeting computer in your car?

Yes.

 10. Attempted to "Jedi mind trick" someone into getting your own way?

Duh.

 11. Use Star wars numbers for my PIN / PASSWORD etc

Maybe. ;-)

 12. tried to convince your partner that if/when you have kids they should have star wars based names?

Yes. No go.

 13. Dressed up in a Star Wars costume for Halloween.

A few times. Once with my girlfriend, now wife.

 14. Wave your hand and pretend you are using the force when walking up to an automatic door.

Every. Single. Time.

Ady, are you, as Imperial Fighter suggested, adding additional elements to the falling AT-AT shot to explain why it falls (rope, laser, etc.)?

yes. you'll be seeing a snowspeeder circling the AT-AT in the wide shot of the 3 AT-AT's

Blessed continuity. I love it!

Thanks, m.s! Yes, you're right about the structure. It's similar to what I did with Temple. And OMG it feels so much more like INDY again! :)

Nice mock-up 005

yeh that is a strange shot indeed. it does seem as if the rebels are supposed to be running towards the battle instead of away. it may also explain the shot before the speeders blow up the fallen AT-AT where we see 2 rebels running towards the walker as the speeders fly overhead

but that shot can also settle a long running argument about the lightsabers not producing shadows. if you look at the explosion you can see just how bright it is yet it creates a shadow. this is because it has mass and this is the same with the lightsabres. if the sabers didn't have any form of mass they would be useless as the blade could pass straight through objects. and originally they were supposed to be heavy weapons. so now, as you see, a lightsabre would indeed produce a shadow.

Thanks for the compliment. Means a lot to me.

And I was confused by the shadow of the explosion, but it didn't dawn on me that it destroys my lightsaber shadow theory. Oh well, less work for you then! I'll try not to cringe at Luke beating down Vader in RotJ anymore since all I usually see are the shadows of two guys with sticks...
