Star Wars Episode II: The Approaching Storm (Released)
Time

Yeah heya… so I found episodes I and III via torrents and they seem to be the latest version (4.0). Is the episode II v4.0 also available somewhere (FanEdit)?

EDIT: Oops sorry. “That’s due to the best possible reason: I’m currently uploading the final version (V4). Episode II will soon follow.” Can’t wait to watch them all in a row. Thanks Hal!

Not trying to be picky or anything (I love harmy!), but any way to fix these colors? Notice the not very blue sky, the not very pink faces, and all the YELLOW! Did someone urinate on the blue ray sources?

I’d fix this stuff myself if I knew how!

There will be more color corrections and all that jazz in the later versions. Just give Harmy time. In my opinion, the quality of the overall movies comes first. But I totally understand what you mean. There are a lot of people on the forums who are color-correcting the shishkebab out of the movies at this very moment so… if you are in a big hurry, you might want to check their projects / tutorials out.

This might sound dumb (once again because I’m a dummy) but will we ever see Star Wars movies without the top + bottom black bars? Not even sure what it’s called but isn’t that what IMAX does? (We don’t have any IMAX theaters in Finland). The original trilogy is probably not compatible for this kind of treatment… or would a 4K restoration be enough? The Force Awakens might the first one, I guess.

Harmy's STAR WARS Despecialized Edition HD - V2.7 - MKV (Released)

I just watched ANH and I gotta admit… this is probably the only Special Edition change I approve of:

But the original is the original. Let’s leave it at that, haha. 😃

When I want to watch a BD movie with subtitles, I usually play it though my PC and add srt subs, because most BDs have really awful subtitles, not in terms of quality but in terms of size and placement - they are usually way too big and with 2.35:1 movies the first line is usually in the picture, while the second line is in the black bar, which IMO is the worst placement of subs you can have, because it totally breaks the cinematic feel - either put them in the picture, which is the way subs would appear in the cinema and it also makes them easier to read while also watching the movie (provided they have a black boarder), or keep them in the black bar, so they don’t intrude in the image.

Project Threepio (Star Wars OOT subtitles)

I got the improved Finnish subtitles straight from LexX and they are SRT files. I really fell in love with the previous Finnish subtitles because they were SUP files with the automatic positioning. Is there a way to do this to the new subtitles as well? For example… I really enjoy reading the opening crawl with the subtitles coming on top, not down over the yellow text. Thanks in advance! 😃

Man, Harmy, I think I’m more nervous about all the publicity than you are. Or maybe I’m just more paranoid 😃

I’m quite sure that there would have already been some (legal) emails if the higher-ups really had a problem with this. I am just glad that everyone is getting informed that there is a way to enjoy Star Wars the way it is supposed to. If someone would even plan on harming Harmy (he he!), there would be a major poopstorm incoming. Hell… even my 64 year old dad started smiling after Han shot first.

Star Wars Prequel Trilogy (Anti-Cheese Edit) (Released)
Time

After hearing Collider Jedi Council’s Kristian Harloff rave about these prequel edits he came across, I had to check them out immediately. Seems like YouTube user JeremyMWest-Esquire has done an amazing job with editing out the cheesiest stuff (dialogues, Jar Jar etc) from the prequel trilogy. Feel free to check them out!

Star Wars Episode I - Phantom Menace (Anti-Cheese Edit):

Star Wars Episode II - Attack of the Clones (Anti-Cheese Edit):

Star Wars Episode III - Revenge of the Sith (Anti-Cheese Edit):

Now I feel like I can watch the prequel trilogy again! Thanks JeremyMWest-Esquire!

First off, just want to thank Harmy for these AMAZING versions. Always cringed at the CGI additions.

Secondly, anybody know where to find the original ROTJ file? I only have access to the 7GB ones.

Thanks!

PM’d you the link to one I finally got to work for me that’s the size Darth Mallwalker referenced.

Thanks! Wonder why it’s so small compared to the first two.

ANH has like 8 sources / 20 audio tracks and ESB about the same. At the moment ROTJ has 3 sources and 5 audio tracks. So that should explain the size a bit, I guess? (Unprofessional hunch)

I’ve been living under a rock until recently and heard about these Despecialized Editions through a friend. We watched ANH and ESB with my family last weekend and oh boy… even my father felt more comfortable than ever with all the shoddy CGI creatures / changes gone. Thank you so much for all the hard work that goes into bringing back the nostalgia.

Is there a ROTJ 1.5 or 2.0 possibly coming within the next two weeks? Well, doesn’t really matter… we will enjoy the DE that is available before going to see The Force Awakens.
