FAN EDIT REQUEST THREAD - Post your dream Fan Edits Here!
Time
Here's one for ya, how about doing something with Ghostbusters II. I'm pretty sure there is no way of getting hold of the original version of the film that was shown in theatres so I'm not even going to go anywhere near that.

But what bugged me abot the film is the fact that the Ghosbuster logo holds up two fingers indicateding a second film, however it has nothing to do with the films reality. It just makes no sense at all. Is there anyone out there that has the ability and the time to change as many of the logos with two fingers to that of the original logo from the first film? Is it even possible?

And Back To The Future: The Ride, I know its been mentioned somewhere so does anyone have a copy I could get hold of? Also has anyone thought about a way to do something with the book-ends of Christopher Lloyd from the Back To The Future Animated Series and also Doc in the music video of ‘That’s The Power Of Love’?

It's simple, really. All you would have to is find a copy of BTTF: The Ride. When it gets to the final sequence in the volcano with you ramming Biff, and timejump effect, from that point on, you have altered the future so that the world is overrun by Huey Lewis and his rabid fanbase of supporters. Add in some narration explaining how Huey has seized the U.S. government, and you have a perfect backstory, with Doc trying to investigate Huey's power. Also, you could edit in some scenes from 1984 of workers yelling at Huey, and thus you will have created "Back to the Totalitarian Future!"

No, it doesn't make any sense whatsoever, but it's worth a shot.

I like it, well done.

How creative is that ? They've had nearly 10 years to think of something a little more original. Grrrrr.

Wow. I really wish they came to the artists on this site.

Erm, hasn't this been available for years anyway I've had it for ages.

The legendary "Starkiller Ranch" Thread

I was thinking, and if anyone else has brought it up then sorry. But how about using shots from documentaries that either A: are useable for different takes and or special effects shots or B: could be altered without much trouble and provide a shot or element that can’t be got.

My main point is any model shots of DS II that could be incorporated elsewhere.

And also is there any footage from video games that can be used

I do agree to a point. I do think the rescue of Han as well just didn't fit with ROTJ, hopefully with one big edit that wont feel so tacked on.

Idea: Star Wars - What Might Have Been
Time

Ok what I have always wanted to see was all three original films cut into one film, now I here you saying ‘heard it, done it’ however has it been said in this way.

We all know Star Wars wasn’t intended as a series of films and Lucas had one 3hr (or so) film in his head and scripted, it was too long so it was split in three, sort of, I say sort of because Lucas didn’t think it would be a hit so the ending (Death Star battle) was brought forward and then of course the film did very well. So we get to Jedi and Lucas is left without an ending so what does he do? Re-uses the original. The only Star Wars film that works in my opinion is Empire because that was shot the way it was intended, as the middle part of a story.

What I’d like to see is something close to that original arc. Whether it means you would have to move the original Death Star battle to the end of Jedi or drop it completely in favour of the Death Star II battle I don’t know. I’d also like to see the Wookies from Sith put in because in the original 3hr script it was they who helped in the last battle not the dammed Ewoks, cos Lucas couldn’t afford to use Wookies, so he shrunk them instead. That idea could be very hard of pull off though.

I haven’t worked out any major details yet and no-doubt the Starkiller edit might have some things that might help (if they don’t mind me stealing). I am forgetting the prequels exist so any footage from those films is fair game if it helps my edit.

Anybody got any ideas, like a name for the project, plot points, what the one and only opening crawl will say?

Ok Yoda Is Your Father I think we are getting a little muddled. Just to clarify, the point of the Starkiller edit is to leave the two DSs alone, I understand that.

My point was that if the scene from ‘Sith’ was used in ‘Empire’ it would give a better link to ‘Jedi’ and it would be there to indicate it is the DS II. However the Starkiller edit is (as I understand it) all six films rolled into one. So if the scene from ‘Sith’ was used in ‘Empire’ it would have to be dropped from ‘Sith’.

Originally posted by: Yoda Is Your Father: Or are you saying there is only one death star throughout the 3 movies and we see it develop over the course of the 3 films until it is finally destroyed in the finale of Jedi?
In my edit, yes thats how I'm doing it. Some of my ideas I posted here

Originally posted by: Yoda Is Your Father:If that's the case, what happens at the end of ANH? Han and Luke rescue the princess then go straight to Hoth?

That I haven't thought about yet

I really should think about starting my own thread.

Like these?

I haven't seen any of these for a while; I'll keep an eye out on eBay and the local car boot sales. I'd love to see a DVD collection of Bond that utilises the spine design from years ago the one that made up the image of the cars, the Bonds and the girls. Dose anyone remember that. I'd love some hi-res spine images so I could have ago myself. Anyone out there got that particular set of Bond VHS tapes?

Ok I know I'm going out on a limb here because I haven’t read all of this thread so I don’t know if someone has said it already. But an idea I had for my own edit (similar to this one) but only concentrating on the original trilogy into one film and forgetting there is two Death Stars, was to use the scene at the end of ‘Sith’ where you see the Death Star being built. I’m using that scene at the beginning of ‘Hope’ and replacing all the exterior shots of the DS in ‘Hope’ with shot of the DS II from ‘Jedi’.

Anyway, point is, if you missed it, is that could that scene be used in a different way, maybe edited to help the Starkiller Edit.
