Get Dave Prowse & reshoot the end of RotJ with HIM! Right the original wrong. Shaw yeah fine, better than nothing but Dave earned that reveal big time.

Someone did this already. The problem would be getting the go-ahead to release the footage.

How do you mean?

Great covers, however I think I would have taken out that very over saturated blue hue, I'm sorry but when did Han, Leia and Luke become those stupid blue Avatar aliens? lol

Thanks for the feedback! I'm afraid I'm not sure what you mean about them being too blue, though? They look pretty flesh-tone to me. All the colors are a bit high-saturated, but that's how the nutritional book covers looked. I'll play with the levels some, see what I can come up with, though.

Hey man

Dunno what happened but I swear the covers I looked at gave everyone blue skin! Maybe the monitor I was on was broken, ah who knows. As I look at them now they look perfect!

Hey guys! I've been a long time lurker here. I love the various fan edits and preservation projects. I've been wanting to contribute something for a while, and finally got motivated to try a few custom covers.

I've been a long time fan of the various Star Wars comics, and liked the idea of using some of the nice cover art for DVD covers. Here's my first set, using the cover from Dark Horse's "Special Edition"graphic novels for the original trilogy comics. I did a few searches, but admitably didn't read all... 100+ pages of this threat, so I don't think anyone else tried making a covers with these yet.

I would love some feedback from the pros here. I used inside art from the various books for the back, I wasn't entirely happy with the ESB one, but will see what you guys think.

Star Wars - Comics 1 preview

ESB - Comics 1 - Preview

RotJ - Comics 1 - Preview

In order to contribute to the thread, here's my series once again (links to full-res ANH:R and ESB:R in my sig):

A New Hope:

The Empire Strikes Back:

And even a temporary Return of the Jedi with many things to be changed in a couple years! :

I love the classic poster artwork! If I had the skills, I would love to paint something new, but alas, I do not....

Anyone got the link to the hi-res cover of the Jedi sleeve?

The "ADigitalMan Special Editions" DVD Info and Feedback Thread (Released)
Time

I am unable to download these. A kind member once passed onto me ADM prequel edits and for years I forgot that's all I had until just recently when telling my brother. I was like 'yeah I'll sort you a copy' but then realised I do not have Eps IV, V or VI!

I'll pay for discs, postage extra if someone is able to send me a hard copy of these edits please?

Due to some sudden and unforeseen events, I've been forced to move some 3000 miles cross country on a moments notice.

So have we now all learned our lesson about killing prostitutes?

I’m not to sure that’s a very appropriate comment at this time. Take care FF, I hope everything sorts itself out sooner rather than later for you.

The updated and corrected version of this project will be released soon. As a donation to the project, a fellow fan from this forum has sent in some very rare original promotion footage. It's a rare production featurette that is being cleand up by the best of my abilities. I'm sure every fan of this film will appreciate having this extra in their collection.

Hey man take your time some people are just impatient and clearly lazy, if they’d read just a few posts back they’d know that’s what you were doing. You’re putting a lot of effort into this so we are happy to wait

If someone could remove Gene and Robert or replace them with someone else or even give'em uniforms this would be a great shot of the crew all smiles just like the good old days, not like that one that is used on the DVD cover where they all look terribly serious

HD/BluRay files to standard DVD?

Cinefile isn't a file extension - it's the letters after the "dot" in the file name. Images are usually ****.jpg, Word documents are ****.doc, text files are ****.txt - those letters. Most Blu-Ray rips online are in .mkv format.

Okie dokes as I say I'll double check once I'm home and we can see where we're at

EDIT It would appear this has been shut I don't understand why but there you go. BTW it is a mkv

HD/BluRay files to standard DVD?

Sorry if this has been mentioned elsewhere. You guys seem to be the ones to ask about this.

A friend of mine resently downloaded two films for me and gave me the BluRay rip files but when I tried to play them neither my PC or my Laptop could keep up I had no idea I would need something doing to either to be able to play these files.

Will they go on to a standard DVD easlily without loseing to much? I think the files where cinefiles, I've never heard of them before.

I am willing to help anyone I can. What is it your looking for?

Is this a queston directed at me? Because if it is, then if you have anything along the lines of the Highlander II edits or the Indiana Jones edits, Bond and some Terminator 3 and Matrix stuff.

You might get lucky here but you may find that posting on the other boards will get better results when it comes to non-Star Wars material.

Like I said to someone else I did put this in 'Off Topic' originally and it was moved.

As for asking in the relevent thread, I've tried. Someone else I think mentioned that a few posts back also and I never got chance to reply.

It's on easy-to-find torrents. I just opened the .avi torrent through LimeWire, downloaded it, and then converted the file to .wmv, and watched it on my laptop.

Not sure if I'll burn it onto DVD anytime soon. Don't see any need to right now.

So Adywan's edit is more than readily available to the curious. It doesn't require any trading, postage, or anything like that. And heck, someone even posted it on YouTube.

This is about people who can't download due to limited net access or other reasons so have to rely on someone helping them out.

And - it's a harsh fact, I know - but that is precisely what you are owed. The ability to read a forum on the internet and send private messages does not automatically entitle you to a copy of the latest fan edit.

Ok what does entitle you to an edit I ask?

Do your own.

Why do some people make whiny posts when they don't get what they want?

I get the impression you don't like me, have I done something to offened you?

I wasn't offended, just mildly annoyed. You started a thread in the Fan Edits and Preservation forum that is off-topic - the subject is nothing to do with fan edits or preservations. You just felt compelled to have a moan because you're not getting your own way.

You act surprised and hurt that no-one is willing to help you. And yet you accuse us of being selfish?

You also use words like "idiot" and "jackass" directed at ChainsawAsh, and you've got completely the wrong impression about the "spirit of the site".

Just because you are a mod dosen't mean you have to have ago at your members

True. But if I feel like "having a go", I will whether I'm a mod or not.

People have been banned for less!

AND I did start it in Off Topic but someone moved it! You're a mod can you not see when stuff is moved?

Where does it say you have to make an edit to be able to get an edit? That's hardly fair.

And as for ChainsawAsh those are HIS words not mine.
