Why, Wicket would look swell in 3D.
Or not.
Why, Wicket would look swell in 3D.

Looks really good, me thinks!
You can decode the track to uncompressed PCM, edit the uncompressed tracks according to the recut, and then re-encode them to DTS-HDMA. You’ll need a commercial encoder to do that, though.
What has been definitely identified on the Cinefacts.de forum are the changes in the audio mix, as this has been reduced dynamically compared to the theatrical experience.
According to information there (http://cinefacts-forum.kino.de/243067-star-wars-das-erwachen-der-macht-26.html#post8393023), the center channel of the BluRay has been “brickwall-limited” (i.e. dynamically compressed), therefore lacking pressure.
You can also use the DVD as a beer coaster.
Actually, it’s a great thread, jogging so many memories of the early 90s. The SW universe was good back then. The movies were a trilogy yet, there was the Timothy Zahn books…
Anyway.
My first expedition into SW was X-Wing (the original diskette version), plus its additional expansion packs. That was an immersing experience! The cutscenes, the beautifully rendered ships from the movies (in the gameplay they looked way simpler…), the dynamic MIDI music which changed according to the battle situation… I remember trying to beat that Death Star trench run for ages, until, one sunny Sunday morning, I managed it the first time around!
Then came TIE Fighter which was an improvement in any aspect. You had more comfortable tweaks in gameplay, a more coherent story, more polished look of the game…
Interestingly, the DOS versions actually look and feel better than the versions released in 1998 for Windows (with adapted XvT graphics).
Then there was Dark Forces. It was amazing! Just the atmosphere of the fourteen levels: being able to walk around on different locations in the SW universe. I think it was the first time one could actually do that. Again, the great interactive iMUSE music. I got quite active in the DF modding community: because the game lacked a multiplayer mode, additional levels rather relied on storytelling and atmosphere more. There are countless levels, additional 3D models and sprites for DF available, exploring virtually every known SW location: Bespin, Yavin, what have you.
I enjoyed Jedi Knight, but found it was lacking that tight DF indoor atmosphere by relying on very expansive outdoor levels. Still, it was a good game.
BTW, the X-Wing and TIE Fighter series are now available om GOG and I am replaying them right now. I got T/F already through, and X-W is 4/5 complete. The Death Star trench run is still a b*tch!
I hope not, dubtitles are devil’s work.
Why is that? I’m terrible at understanding spoken Spanish so having both a dub and subtitles helps a ton.
That’s what subtitles for the Hard of Hearing (HoH) are for. Normal subtitles should just translate the original dialogues, no more, no less.
Sure. I am a bit of a typographer. 😃
They are both available on YouTube already, so you can download them from there.

I think that the picture is only a template, each country should print on it it’s own title. At least I hope so 😃
Nope, it ain’t so. They are actually barenaked steelbooks.
Yes, I see that. Still, I don’t quite like the discrepancies in the logo stroke width between TFA and the OT, especially as it is supposed to be its successor.
As for the font, to me, it just has a wrong weight (thickness). This actually looks like something like DIN or a stretched News Gothic font to me.
ROTJ / ROTS had a font that looks a lot like Univers Ultra Condensed.
TESB used a different font (I don’t remember its name; however, a similar font was used on Sergio Leone’s “A Fistful of Dollars” for the intro credits).
^ “Backslash: The Movie”?
Actually this cover contains quite a spoiler, if you look to what character the red light sabre points.
Does it matter what exactly the title is? According to some of the international Blu-Ray releases, this movie actually has no title:
Nah. Boba Fett was cool.
Phasma just got on my nerves.
I didn’t like the TFA textcrawl. The Star Wars logo’s yellow edges were too thick. The font for the episode title felt wrong.
Many people from this very site would have done a better job.
It’s finished.
Is this true for the upload of the lossless version as well?
Oh yes please!
You mean for laserschwert’s version or did you have some other use in mind?
Laserschwert’s version of course. 😃

Jaaaaa, es kommt Bewegung in die Sache!
Though Diego Luna rather looks like Kyle Katarn in “Jedi Knight”, not “Dark Forces”. 😃
Spencer wilding could possibly play Vader In RO
Neither are confirmed, but it is interesting to think about!
I guess they wouldn’t go with putting Dave Prowse in the costume (like they did with Peter Mayhew for Chewbacca) because he would leak all the spoilers, like he used to do in the OT. 😉
“Episode X” became part of the title since the prequel trilogy only. Even the 1997 SE was marketed as “Star Wars”, “The Empire Strikes Back” and “Return of the Jedi”, as did every release before.
Oh yeah, about that Indy video cover. The title of this movie is actually just “Raiders of the Lost Ark”.
I would really really really appreciate it if there were an interim German release for 2.7.
liebguck 😃
Worldwide steelbook (except USA and Canada):
Oh yeah, I would like a link to Mega, too. If it’s not too much trouble, that is. 😃
Laserschwert, how about a German version of 2.7? 😃
