I have completely recreated all 3 crawls in 1080p including "Krieg der Sterne" (2 days of Photoshop work, using the title from ESB SE as a basis) and synchronized them with the Music. The only thing: Krieg der Sterne has the "Episode IV" title, and the Fox- and Lucasfix-logos are from the SE/DVD...

The colors seem to be a bit off. The whole thing looks too CGI, at least on this scale. But a nice effort!

Yes, I already added German audio tracks to my copies of your AVCHD Despecialized Editions of SW and TESB and it worked perfectly fine for me. Although I used to love the "Krieg der Sterne"-logo, I'm also fine with the original opening crawl and English subtitles because most of our official DVD- or BR-releases don't provide written text that's translated into local language either.

AFAIK someone is just working on this issue (German intro + text crawl + alien languages).

Hello,

I have looked through the effort (the German textcrawl combined with a starfield) and it does not look really well to me. It does not feel like Star Wars: the letters which have wandered off to the back are practically unreadable (as they are in the original version); the crawl colour feels greenish instead of warm yellow. The bleeding on "Lucasfilm" and "Es war einmal..." is quite disturbing (on 2.35:1 German LD rips I have here it is not the case, and the sharpness is comparable).

I would prefer a mostly unaltered German textcrawl with less visible stars, than such an artificial composition.

Don't forget the German End Titles for EP IV as well!

Animorphic would be altered as well.

In fact, the original theatrical versions were in an anamorphic format when they ran theatrically.

I actually have MPEG2-Recordings of the German textcrawls (and German end Credits of ANH) from the Silver Screen LDs (2.35:1 non-anamorphic). However, the picture quality is not great, especially on the first textcrawl. You barely can see any stars.

I think there will be a need to do more things for a new German FP (probably a mod to the LS FP):

- Add the lines missing from the FOX GOUT release from ANH: the lines about the helmet and the missing word in C3POs sentence.
- Make an anamorphic picture.
- Add the old German textcrawls (the FOX GOUT release only has English textcrawls translated by subtitles) from the Laserdisc as multiangle.
- Add the English alternative textcrawl for Episode IV (without "A NEW HOPE" as seen in GOUT)
- Add all the bonus materials which FOX left out
