Yep. I’d put my hat in the ring, but Chicago is a bit far from the UK…

Well sure, it is with that attitude…

Are you saying that the distance between Chicago and the UK would change if his attitude did?

STAR WARS: EP IV 2004 REVISITED ADYWAN *1080p HD VERSION NOW IN PRODUCTION
Time

OK, so now I’m very confused. Is Adywan taking suggestions here? Like I don’t have any, that been made already, but it seems that everyone else does have, even though he explicitly stated that he wouldn’t be making any new changes for the HD version. But, he has still responded to new feedback and it seemed that he agreed with some so…

OK, this is a mistake:

So notice how the AT-AT head is facing 90 degrees from the body, a feet I’m pretty sure it cannot achieve. Its also odd considering that in the prior shot it was facing directly forward. Something also seems off with the perspective as the head is behind the near tree, even though the tree appears from the Arial shot to be some distance away.
I assume this came about because Lucas didn’t feel people could understand it was the AT-AT form a profile shot(?), but I really don’t know.

It might also make sense that they contained payloads. The rebels could have loaded the cargo in the bottoms of the ships with explosives, which could be jettisoned and flung at star destroyers. I mean if I were an imperial captain I wouldn’t bother attacking transports in the middle of a battle. But Uh oh, they just launched explosives at my bridge, big mistake.

Oh and another idea I had that may be more difficult to pull of (if not impossible) is that I feel it would make more sense for the beam to hit the Hosnian system’s star, blowing that up, which then has that same ‘death disk’ thing form the death stars explosion which hit and wipe out the planets. That rather than having it travel as a single beam which randomly fans out right as it gets to the planets, splitting into 5 different beam that perfectly hit each planet.

(Don’t you just love it when you accidentally hit CTRL R)
So I didn’t make myself clear, my bad. They were two different issues. First off, yes the cannon is separate, but I only meant to be referring to that in light of how it is glowing red, were as the thermal oscillator didn’t go red until it was about to fire. So maybe making it white or dark or something might be better.
Second is that based on this:

Yellow being the direction of light (which may or may not be incorrect due to 3D to 2D mistranslated on my part) I would say that the stream should be visible on either the surface, trench or just behind the edge of the base.
That’s that last I’ll say on it. I think I said what I meant this time.

I know you are using the same restructure as Hal 9000 when it come to Star Killer so here’s a heads up on a mistake I just noticed with their edit. When the resistance arrives, the weapon is not draining the sun. It only has an ambient red glow, as if it was ready to fire, but of cause it isn’t and the sun doesn’t become ready until Kylo kills Han. I’m not sure if it should be seen in any other shots where it is not, but yeah. I already let them know, I’m unsure if they are making changes anymore but at least you can catch it now.

Just noticed a fairly hefty mistake!

Just noticed an extremely bizarre editing mistake (at least I think its an mistake). When Palp gives the order to fire the DS laser, watch Luke. He is looking at the emperor and then to the window and then back, and repeats this exact action. I may be wrong but it looks like they looped it. Either way I don’t think I’m alone in thinking this is weird am I?

I’m sure Ady is pretty set on his additions and changes now, but I thought I might throw out one other idea.

At the end of the final space battle, I think a shot of Star Destroyers scattering into hyperspace would be an interesting addition. Not only would it give a little more context on what happened to the rest of the massive Imperial fleet (did the smaller rebel fleet destroy them all, did they surrender?), but it also could foreshadow the eventual return of the Empire as the reformed First Order in the next trilogy.

That sounds really cool, and idk how adywan is planning to shoot Endor scenes or if the 501st will be involved, but if he had imperial officer garb, it might be cool to use to have a star destroyer admiral say “Recall the fleet. The rebellion my have one this battle, but the war is not over…” (or something like that). Alternatively it could be easier to use you hyperspace idea, and have a few beats of the imperial march play just as they leave. Like you’d have to pick the right moment to cut to and the right part of the score to pick up an leave, but it could be extremely menacing.

are there any plans to restructure the start of this film, to try and make sense of the plan to save Han.

I can understand if not, as it is ‘revisited’ rather than ‘restructured’. But really think this is one of the weakest parts of the film.

Read some of the comments from the last few months.

Fair, I hadn’t thought about the timing. But actually I have an idea. What about only having one spy, say something like “They’re here” or “It’s here” but its ambiguous who is being notified. Still have tension but we can assume that the resistance is the one being told, and that the first or found out. Or vice verse and Maz told Poe because apparently they’re best buds (stupid TLJ).

The resistance gets alerted first which makes the spy reveal less surprising. But it’s no big deal, its probably better to just leave it in. I’ll consider changing the subtitles though, that’s a good idea!

Um, could you restructure the scene so that we see the FO spy send a message, then after the FO arrive and we go to the R droid and it starts to notify the Resistance, but gets cut off be an explosion (the ties bombing the castle). So it can go from Maz saying “there here” to the droid (you can change the sub to whatever and dub chatter for screaming) before an explosion effect fills the screen and to Rey arriving and then looking in horror as we cut to the outside being destroyed and collapsing. Or something.

Few, that was a lot of stuff to read. OK, I only ready most of the comments so if I’m treading old ground, sorry.
I was really impressed with you cutting/editing list, I think you have excellent taste. But it is Star Wars so obviously I have an opinion and yes, I’ll keep it brief(ish).
I don’t really know what replacing the main theme will entail, so well I’d need to see/hear it to form an opinion. I’m also unsure about a few of the minor changes involving FX work, often good edits fall short here but I have faith that you won’t Lucas it and go ahead even if obviously not working.
I do like the idea of using some shots form the teasers, some where very iconic and I was sand to see them go (no chance for Kylo’s saber ignition I suppose?).
As far as some of the discussed topics I’ll start with saying cut Luke form the ending. It threw of the pacing and I clearly remember myself and half the audience starting to stand as and cheer just as Rey left the planet, only to slump back confused and wandering if we were in for another half hour.
As for the Kylo reveal, I’d say don’t remove the Snoke scene, we get little enough of him as it is. I’d move it or just cut part of the dialogue. Maybe if it when after Kylo had discovered Solo on Star Killer? IDK. More importantly cut whatever mension Han/Leia make to having a son, until the point that you with to make the reveal (Which I guess is when they are talking just before Han goes to Star Killer?) and keep the “grandfather” line, that way the audience might at first assume Luke to be Kylo father; maybe?
That island scene magnifique! But if I were to critique it, I would say try to make the dunes and the island line up. Otherwise leave it looks sooo pretty.
Don’t remove Ren’s wrath, the fact that he is an “imputation child” is just part of his character and gives him somewhere to grow from (become less childish).
OK I think that it for the discussed items. Now my ideas…
Now I could’t tell from you list but just in-case you weren’t planning on it, could you do something about how Finn gets his name? The way it happens is soooo forced: “F, N uh? I’m gonna call you Finn!”(?!)
Finn’s “that one heck of a pilot” line, it s just weird.
Is it possible to vary up some of the X-wings, with some different colours, it just seems odd how everyone has a uniform blue/white X-wing and then Poe is the only one with a half way unique version. Also if his is the only unique one then why was he not using his own when he went to Jakku?
I can’t think of anything else so I’ll leave you with one question: If your using TFA:Restructured, does that mean that all the changes form that will stay? Its just they all worked, and where executed flawlessly. I’m mostly referring to the addition of the deleted scene with the woman we see on Hosnian prime. See her be sent by Leia to warn the republic only to be caught by the Hyperspace beam really made that whole thing feel just that little bit more tragic.

OK, I got it to re-dl. It works now and can I just say, thank you. This IS the best TFA edit.
Having what it all the way through, it still has the same problem as the original: The ending. If you plan to make any additional changes, maybe to fit with a TLJ edit (if your going to attempt that) then you could try removing the closing scenes of Rey finding Luke. This way you could end it with Rey leaving (on an adventure) and they wouldn’t get repeated in TLJ. Just an idea. Still can’t love the Star Killer change enough lol.

OK, so I dl the 1080p version using the torrent but when I tried to play it, it will only play for a few minutes at a time (it seem that it breaks at specific intervals, maybe at the ‘chapter’ points, but idk for sure). When using windows video player it crashes the program (and comes up with this error code 0xc00d36cb but it doen’t do this for any of the other videos I possess so it must be something to do with this one), and when using VLC it skips half the film. Anyone else experience the problem, or know how to fix it? I’d really appreciate your help.

PS. I did skip ahead to some of the bigger changes and can I just say bravo to all that participated in this fan edit.
