A re-edit of the entire Twin Peaks story is a great idea. The only problem I see you runing into is Donna.
The thing I would love to see removed is the entire James & the Rich Woman story from the second season.
Oh! And cut down the Little Nicky stuff to just a little joke, not a major plot.

I have the Twin Peaks trading cards if you would want to use them as stills for a DVD extra. I also have the rare re-mix Extended Play CD.

I LOVE T.P.

Hi,

Yes. This film needs a lot of nips and tucks.

***The Official NON-Star Wars FAN EDIT*** Release Thread

(This is moved here from another thread)

"DUNE" the "Fanfiltration edit"
It combines the two existing versions of the 1984 film, to make a much better movie IMHO.
My goal was fixing the horrible edit job done on the T.V. footage, plus adding the "blue within blue eyes" where it was missing. In many places, scenes have been reedited to try and faithfully reconstruct David Lynch’s original vision of the film using the December 9, 1983 shooting script as a guide. I bet Universal did nothing at all to the T.V. version but crop it to look like it's 2.35:1 anamorphic widescreen. MCA Video did that with the Battlestar Galactica movie a few years ago.
My fan edit is presented in a “Pan & Scan” format; as no widescreen footage of the extended cut scenes is available at the current time of this reedit production. Yes the video looks kinda bad, but the Pan & Scan laserdisc is not the best quality, and let's not talk about how bad the T.V. print is. This was the best I could do with what is out there. This is my first edit too.

Here is a preview of my menus:

Hope this gets out to the Fans.

Well, my "Fanfiltration edit" of "DUNE" comes out THIS week!!!

Info Wanted: Making a 3-D Fan Edit Question
Time
I'v seen this thing that says it will turn 2-D to 3-D via a converter box, but you need to use their glasses only. I would want glasses that can be made by anyone that wanted to see it.

http://store1.yimg.com/I/i-glassesonline_1864_103018

"Enjoy 3D Digital, Special Effects at Home! After years of research, a group of scientists and engineers have finally achieved what many have considered to be the impossible: Convert a standard 2D video image into a true, holographic-like 3D projection - in real time. What this means is that you can now watch virtually all of your favorite TV shows and sporting events, your entire collection of VHS and DVD movies, your entire library of home videos and play every video game you have ever owned - and do it ALL in Real 3D!"

Info Wanted: Making a 3-D Fan Edit Question
Time

Hi,

Does anyone know of a filter or program that can turn a normal 2-D video file into a 3-D one?

You know the type you need to make the red/blue glasses to see.
http://images.google.com/images?q=tbn:RpIR1EnHrzUJ:http://express.howstuffworks.com/gif/3-d-glasses-2.gif

I was thinking how kewl it would be to have my own 3-D version of the CLASIC Star Wars. We all know that when Lucas puts out his 3-D versions, they will be the re-makes.

The image needs to turn out something like this…

3 points if you can name the movie above!

And just because Singer paid to license Brando's likeness for Superman Returns doesn't mean Salkind can't also release that footage to Donner for a re-cut of Superman II. Two totally different business deals. Just because Singer's using it doesn't mean Donner can't.

True, True. Release it all!!!

This would allow for the creation of a long-awaited Superman II: Director's Cut that would be closer to the film Donner was crafting before the film was taken away from him by the studio back in 1979 and given to replacement director Richard Lester.

Rumor is that they are going to be using the Superman II footage of Marlon Brando shot by Donner for the new Superman Returns. If this is the case, then Superman II will still not be restored fully to it's pre-Lester story outline.

By the look of this shot, it seems that they are using the distruction of the Fortress of Solitude plot line as seen in the Restored International Cut of Superman II, and the events of Superman IV never happend.

Just to add. I also have a version of the longer cut that is from some Channel 5 station.
I would be happy to donate it for a super edit. It must not be a composit, as it has the station logo up most of the time. This copy does not look as good as the version that Rikter has posted shots of, but it may be usefull for editing in shots that may not be as good on other versions.

There are colored wavy lines throughout most of it, no chapter stops and pixellation a plenty. Maybe with rikter's new version someone will make a better version of this blueprint. But especially because most of it seems to be ripped right from the laserdisc, there's no reason for the quality to be pretty shitty.

I hate to say this, but the Laserdisc of "Superman: The Movie" looks like pure crap.
And that's the ones that do not have disc rot yet. Yes this LD title has rot problems!
I have 2 copys of this title and they are sooooo bad. You may want to just transfer from a new sealed VHS copy like I am doing now.

NICE!!!!!!!!!!!

Would you guys do a cover for my "DUNE" re-edit? PLEASE!!!!!! :-)

WOW! Superman 2 looks like it could be a very kewl movie with that cover!
It just may make me watch it a bit more then I do now.

That shot of the WTC on the back cover makes me remember a time when we believed a Superhero could be there to save us when it was required.

Fantastic!!!!

No!

Much of the added footage should not be considered bonus, but penalty footage.

This film is just not redeemable! Some films benefit from the insertion of extra (cutting Room Floor) footage, or the adding of a few new effects. But like Highlander 2, no amount of tinkering would ever help this installment.
The only reason that the film was "re-edited" for television, is that the Salkind's made their money by selling their product by the minuet to T.V. markets around the world. No artistic thought was ever put into any of the "T.V. re-workings" of the superman films. Take a look at the text commentery on the "Superman II RIC" DVD to see what I am talking about.

Now Supergirl & Superman IV was beter in longer versions, but I am not sure that is the same situation. And yes, I would say Superman IV was better then III, but not by much.

SUPERMAN III - GENERAL/EXTRA FOOTAGE from supermancinema.co.uk

Still, this version is worth having.
This version of Superman III now holds a spot on my DVD wall.
