Dr. No

This looks great.

One change you need to make is the feature title: "The Dr. No File"

I had made a error on the menu (now fixed) with that title. It should be called "Dr. No Dossier".

Sorry about this.

I see you have the MGM/UA logo. FYI there is no mention of MGM/UA on the laserdisc art at all.
It says it is a joint venture with Janus Films and Voyager Press.

You have to see the Epic version. The one they show on TV. There may be other differences as well. They didn't JUST use the same version for the home video version. That was mostly the same but slightly different. The Epic was produced for TV in the 70's I believe. The Epic on video didn't come out until years later.

Was the T.V. version of "THE EPIC" the same cut as "The Godfather: A Novel for Television" joining of parts one and two?

THX...not true.

The TV version had a VERY different intro to GF2. There was also a different intro altogether.

Forgive me.
I'm very intrigued about this T.V. version of GF 2! Is there a sorce available for this footage?
I wonder if it could be included in the edit I have done? Oh, now I'm excited!
I just love finding out there is something I'v not seen or knew about relating to one of my all time favorite films.

What about the TV version? That had more footage as well.

The T.V. version was about the same as the "Epic" VHS Box set. One thing I did not like about the T.V. edit was that they spoke in English a bit more. I used the versions of scenes with Italian for my edit from the Godfather II disc. But, I have all of the footage that has come out, including the T.V. stuff.

All of the video sets that have attempted to present the Trilogy in a chronological order have fallen short.

The best attempt was the "Epic" VHS set, but was only films #1 & 2, and still it was missing cut footage.

Then "THE GODFATHER TRILOGY: 1901-1980" (Boxed Set) came out on Laserdisc. This set was a mess and had only some parts placed in chronological order, but yet had some stuff that was not on the "Epic" set. Unfortunately, this set was missing footage that was included on the "Epic" set.

“The Godfather Collector’s Edition” is the best pan/scan transfer of the lot, but is just the 3 films shown in the theatrical versions. Still, having this set was a must.

The Official DVD Set’s extras section has footage that is not on the laserdiscs or "The Epic".

A great webpage on the Godfather on home video is:

THE GODFATHER TRILOGY - The Web Site You Can't Refuse

This site's information was invaluable to putting my GF edit together.

Hi,

I made a 5 DVD-R edit of the GF Films in Complete and full cronlogical order, inserting all of the cut footage (Except the T.V. ending for part two). I removed the flashback Michael has of his brothers murder from part 3, as it only just happen for the viewer. I also put the flashback from the end of Part Two before the events of Part One.

The set has menus and chapter stops for each disc, and is Pan/Scan.

For my edit I used:

A) Godfather DVD Box SET
B)"The Trilogy" boxed set (1992) (Laserdisc Set)
C) "The Colector's Edition" (Laserdisc Set)
D) "The Godfather Part 2" (Laserdisc)
E) "The Godfather Complete Epic" (VHS Box Set)

On Her Majesty's Secret Service: The 'narrated version' (Released)
Time

I have just made a composite edit of one of the most bastardized 007 films ever.

On Her Majesty’s Secret Service: The narrated version (226 min. mono)

“On Her Majesty’s Secret Service” was first shown on American T.V. in February 1976.
The film was shown in two 90-minute parts, and was used to help promote the '76 Winter Olympic Games. To maximize ratings, it was decided by the American Broadcasting Company to split the film up so that it could fill two 90-minuet time slots over two nights (including adverts).

In order to stretch the films running time, ABC had the bright idea to re-edit the first half of the movie with some sections from the second half. This editing along with some brand new overdubbed narration was meant to create an illusion of Bond having flashbacks. The added narration is by a voice actor that sounds NOTHING like George Lazenby.

I have used vintage sound recordings of the narrated sections, along with the Pan/Scan Laserdisc to recreate this lost Bond abomination.

i will complete te back cover as soon as I have received your CD.

I shipped this morning what you asked.

It's not that I think one is better, just different. Like Peking Duck is different from Russian caviar, but I love 'em both. However, I think you should go with Bond and Honey.

There will be another super-duper extended edition and or a chronologically edited version, but Jackson is holding out for HD-DVD or Blu-Ray before doing these.

It really wouldn't surprise me if Jackson had filmed everything just so he could do this later release.

He'll probably get Lucas to help him "finish" his films with badly placed CGI characters. Hey, it worked for the SE.

Lucas should get help FROM Jackson's people. Not the other way around. Golem looked so much better then Jar Jar Binks or Yoda.
