I made this thread because I noticed that some of the editors who have created many interesting edits over the years no longer post on here.

I also wanted to give people who sign up just to ask for fan edits a place to put their requests.

So if you want to ask for a fan edit, put your request here.

Hopefully there’ll be members of the community on here who are able to help out in making some of these edits available once again.
 

I’ll start. I really want to see darthrush’s edits of ROTJ, TFA and TLJ, but he hasn’t posted since November. Does anyone have them?

I can’t decide on the worst scene in the saga, so I’ll do one for each film.

Star Wars: Special Edition Mos Eisley. Completely cluttered with CGI comic relief.
The Empire Strikes Back: The giant worm cave. Serves no purpose story-wise.
Return of the Jedi: Jedi Rocks. Made me want to rip my eyes out and jam them into my ears.
The Phantom Menace: The podrace. Even more CGI comic relief.
Attack of the Clones: Battle droid Threepio. Would be okay if he didn’t spout bad puns constantly.
Revenge of the Sith: The opening scene. Cheesy and full of terrible comedy.
The Force Awakens: The battle above Starkiller Base. A lazy rehash of Star Wars’ climax.
Rogue One: Bor Gullet. Weird for the sake of being weird.
The Last Jedi: The ships running out of fuel. Only happens because they couldn’t rip off ESB without it.
Solo: Han getting his last name from an Imperial Officer. Contrived and pointless.

Are you serious! Do you have a time stamp for the offending piece?

It would seem then that even the original official documentaries need preserving as protection against revisionist George 😕

I’m pretty new here, so I haven’t seen very many Star Wars edits. Which Star Wars edits do you like, or would recommend to someone else?

I completely stopped believing in George when I found out that he edited midichlorians into The Making of Star Wars. If he can just change history like that, I don’t trust a word he says.

That’s about it. Not much, but I haven’t read/seen that much. Not really sure whether EU or new canon is better for the stuff after ROTJ.

I think I have an idea of how to do the bridge scene in a natural way (although you’d need some FX shots)

The scene happens like normal up until Kylo drops his mask. Then we see close shots of him drawing his saber and obviously preparing to kill Han. Chewie notices and shoots Kylo with the crossbow. Kylo is blown across the bridge by the crossbow as he ignites the saber. Chewie sets off the explosives, and the rest happens like normal.

It’s still not perfect, but better than Chewie firing for no reason.

It won’t, I promise. I don’t blame Kathleen, Rian, or any one person for “ruining” the movie. I have the same opinion about people who blame Lucas for “ruining” the prequels. He made the franchise you love, show a little respect.

What do you mean by plot holes in TESB?

Stuff like:
How did they get the walkers on Hoth? There were only star destroyers, no transport ships.
How did Han get to Cloud City on sublight speed? Maybe stars are closer in the SW universe, but if so, why do they need lightspeed in the first place?
Why are the Rebel ships so slow in evacuating after the battle? There are still walkers that haven’t been destroyed, and Darth Vader himself has invaded the base.

Why is this controversial?

Because I ranked ROTS so highly. I like it much more than most people here, who hate all 3 prequels equally. Also, I like SW better than ESB. Most fans treat ESB like superhero fans treat The Dark Knight.
