There are a ton of continuity errors in this film anyway, and most probably wouldnāt be noticed except on repeat viewings. One of the ones thatās always stuck out to me was Rey having the lightsaber activated in the drone shot during the training montage, even though the shots before and after have it deactivated. But I doubt anything can be done about it, soā¦oh well.
Yeah, I noticed thereās a ton of moments where the lightsabers are just suddenly on / off. Like, no activation / deactivation sequence or anything like that. Itās one part that really underscores how much the movieās pacing was accelerated in editing. But like you said, not much can be done about it.
I donāt see what the point would be.
It would be so hardcore fans can watch the edit and scream āI KNOW WHO THAT IS!ā Given that TROS has way too many of those moments already, I really donāt think itās a good idea.
Replace the soundtrack for every sad moment in the series with sad meme music: The Sound of Silence, Baka Mitai, Only Time, Gutsā theme, Space Song, stuff like that.
Yeah, I also tend to have a tier-like system for organizing various parts of the franchise.
1st tier: The original trilogy (either theatrical or Revisited)
2nd tier: The prequel trilogy (Hal9000 edits)
3rd tier: Rogue One, Solo, Mandalorian, certain episodes of Clone Wars, and future live action shows
4th tier: Any other stuff that I happen to like
Like with many others, the sequels are in a bit of a weird spot for me. I genuinely like TLJ, and I can enjoy TFA and TROS as big dumb fanservice flicks, but I just canāt accept them as being the ātrueā conclusion to the story. I can tolerate them much more when separated from the rest of the franchise. Also, I genuinely canāt stand Rebels, and if the live action shows end up being impossible to separate from that storyline it would be a real shame.
Yeah, I donāt think the youngling deserves a major role in the voices scene. Right now it feels a bit too meme-y, like those edits that have Ackbar replace Holdo in TLJ. Just one line from him is fine.
Replace the entirety of the storylines with the Thrawn trilogy novels from the '90s.

Actually, I think Palpatine knowing about the dyad survived well into the post-production process: the Reddit leaks that came from post-production workers described Palpatineās plan being to drain Rey and Kyloās energy, even claiming that Palpatine talked about the dyad during his first scene.
In general, the plot leaks before release sound a lot better than the movie itself: it feels less rushed, more developed, and generally more satisfying. Unfortunately, unless they eventually release the deleted scenes, it will be impossible to make the movie feel like it did before it was mangled in editing.
After I watched ESB for the first time, I had a dream where Yoda revealed that Chewie was actually the āother hopeā he was talking about. Add that reveal into the actual story.
Every time someone yells āNOOOOO!ā in the movies, overlay audio of all the other times it was yelled, implying that the spirit of the Great āNoā Ghost is possessing them and making them say the word.
I love how this thread started out as an excuse to make fun of anime, but now itās been revived with actual anime recommendations. The pandemic really did wonders for the anime community.
When Anakin puts down his tablet in Revenge of the Sith, the Dark Souls āYOU DIEDā sound can be faintly heard in the background, implying that Anakin is rage-quitting to further emphasize him giving into anger.
Yeah, I also wish the edit was a bit more radical. I was actually surprised watching it, wondering why almost nothing was changed during the opening scenes of the movie. The edits that are there are absolutely stunning, I just wish a bit more was cut out (mainly Finnās over-the-top comedy, thatās always bugged me).
I still havenāt seen this edit (waiting for tomorrow when I finally have a decent amount of free time), but I agree with Hal that Starlight, Rekindled, and Ascendant sound like theyād make a perfect trilogy. All 3 are mainly focused on additive, VFX-heavy changes that create a more cohesive story with clearer character arcs. Iām planning to wait until Ascendant version 2 to marathon all 3, though.

One thing that has ALWAYS bugged me about TLJ was Poe not knowing who Holdo is. We all know she should have been in TFA, but itās like a solider not knowing who the Vice President is. Cut Poe not knowing who she is.
Didnāt Poe say something along the lines of:
āThatās Admiral Holdo? Battle of Khyron belt Admiral Holdo? Not what I expected.ā
That seems to indicate that Poe knew Holdo, but didnāt know what she looked like.
Since Snoke=Palpatine, is it possible to remove his mention of bridging their minds? If Palpatine was controlling Snoke then why would their connection be a surprise?! Removing Snoke inconsistences is key to making a more cohesive trilogy
Iād really like to insert a Palpatine line clarifying that Snoke was an independent being. Although Palpatine created him to rule the First Order, Snoke had no idea he was being controlled. No idea where you could insert a line like that though.

Yes, thatās a great idea! Not only did that line make Luke look like a hypocrite for not even reading his most sacred texts, but it blatantly contradicts the next movie. It needs to go.

Itās in the scene where he gets red eyes as he reads the dagger. One of the things he says is a set of coordinates, and that the dagger has to be used on the southern shore of the Death Star lake. The scene is still cheesy though, and Iām glad Halās edit changed it.
I donāt think he was suggesting that Luke should use the green saber, I think he meant that Luke should dual wield both the blue and green sabers. Itās a weird idea, but interesting.
The film Mulan 2020 is a good story about female empowerment and the importance of loyalty, family, truth and honor. A must see.
Although of course, all of those things were just copied from the original animated movie. So you should probably just watch that instead.

I donāt know about you, but Vader seems a lot more angry in the ANH clip.
I actually think Vaderās anger level depends on the movie. Most people arguing that Vader is calm and emotionless use ESB as an example, but Vader was at his coldest in that movie. In ANH, Vader got angry a lot, raising his voice and expressing frustration often. ROTJ also gives Vader more emotion, but in the other way around: his more compassionate side that he was hiding is brought out.
