Small details that took you FOREVER to notice in the Star Wars films
Time

It may be a wretched hive of scum and villainy, but they’ve got excellent musical taste! 😛

I watched a few minutes of The Phantom Menace on TBS over the weekend, and noticed for the first time there are little droids picking up and putting the downed battle droids on the Naboo grassland into tidy heaps after the Gungans have lost. Prequel Lucas would never show dead Gungans being stacked of course. 😉

Similarities Between the Original Trilogy and the Prequel Trilogy
Time

Given his backstory, he would have had to maintain that facade on Naboo for decades as he rose up the ranks in government. Lucas could have made it easier on himself had he just not gone there and left the Emperor’s appearance in ROTJ be a shocking surprise as it once was in 1983. Or just have Palpatine’s appearance begin to subtly change in ROTS after Anakin saves him, hinting at the corruption of his body in the years to come.

I do like the idea of a Sith lord feeding off the pain and suffering of others. That idea has been around a long time in horror fiction.

The gif is too large/long to be embedded here (and already posted in the SW News thread - though worthy of a re-post here) and also another look…

That warms the cold recesses of my heart.

And I imagine all the bad guys were struggling to stay in character.

4K restoration on Star Wars

I’ve streamed 4K HDR from Amazon, VUDU, and Movies Anywhere, and it looks great. Definitely better than a 1080p blu-ray and almost as good as a 4K UHD disc. But I’ve yet to stream anything from anyone that sounds as great as a disc.

Still, if you can stream 4K HDR, just do it! I remember the old days of trying to rotate the antenna on the roof to make the picture stop rolling, so I think all this streaming is great!

That wasn’t the antenna’s fault, it was a bad vertical control knob. 😛

When I was a kid, I would get up early to watch Hanna Barbera’s World Of Super Adventure on the kitchen tv, which somehow picked up the signal from a distant New York station so long as I held onto the rabbit ears with one hand.
