Has anybody given thought to preserving this? It’s not on the official DVD. (Was only ever released on VHS.) In spite of not being “approved” by the director, it does give the special editions the spoofing they so rightly deserve.

I’ve been lurking for a long while and finally decided it was time to post something. It’s very impressive seeing all the work being done to keep the originals out of the dustbin. The DVD’s were the last nail in the coffin for me. I have noticed several mentions in other threads of people having access to 35mm gear. Is it possible for any of you to transfer 35mm to video? I’ve been sitting on some footage of interest for a while, but the only place I knew of that could have done the telecine for me, (no questions asked) apparently went out of business.
With a little luck I may have the Super 8 home movie digest reels of Star Wars transferred to DV pretty soon. I don’t expect the picture quality to be that great, but it will have a good chunk of the mono mix.
