Which means that Luke sees himself in Vader. The Darth Rey shot of the new trailer is featuring a look and a weapon Rey has no reason to imagine (ie if it was a Dagobah sequence, she would picture herself as Ren, not as something new).
She saw places in her TFA Force vision she’d never been to let alone seen before, why is this different? I don’t think the rules on Force visions are written on stone tablets anywhere.
We see the Falcon and other Rebel ships come out of Hyperspace in a similar misty area and Finn in the Falcon’s cockpit seems to be looking at the ghost fleet based on what little we see outside the window behind him. And I just now noticed Y-Wings and B-Wings in that shot!
It may just be a reserve of ships long forgotten after the Empire fell, as those who knew about it were probably dead or didn’t know it’s exact location. Space being really big and all. Maybe I’ll get to see an SD with a rebel logo painted on the hull after all!

They may have been going for an exotic alien feel to the ESB emperor, similar to how actresses were cast as the Talosians in the first Star Trek pilot. They too were dubbed by male voices.

It was better as a random idea Darth Vader had since he was on Cloud City. They didn’t even know if it would kill Han or not. Now even the coffee table he was frozen is the same. Like everything in these spin-offs it feels grey and muted but most of all fan servicey and boring instead of creative. I’d like to get excited seeing IG-88 but I can’t after Rogue One and Solo, because this is just more of that.
What is the coffee table used for the rest of the time then? It’s perfectly sized for most humanoid life forms. Why would it have hardware built in to show Han was alive and in perfect hibernation? TCW or not, I don’t think Vader pulled this idea out of thin air. The risk came from using the crude facility on Bespin.
Oh, carbonite freezing isn’t unique anymore. Looks like it is usual business now.
Was it ever implied that it wasn’t unique? All Vader said in ESB was that Cloud City’s facilities were crude, not that anyone had never been frozen that way before. I still don’t know what they usually froze there when Vader wasn’t luring Luke into a trap. 😉

I’ve read Kubrick personally supervised the edits made for the tv version. The one that airs on basic cable these days has different digital censoring in the Room 237 scene, and I’m nostalgic for the SK approved version.

I think Star Wars is doing great. I’d say Lucas did more butchering with the the Holiday Special, Ewok Movies, special editions, and prequels, but Star Wars is still going. I love it as much as I ever did.
The level of Lucas’ involvement with the HS is questionable at best. And the Ewok movies are squarely aimed at kids in spite of Battle For Endor rivaling Alien 3 in some respects. 😉
