Korriban is widely known to those it concerns, though, so it wouldn’t function as a secret base. All the more reason to stay close to the official blue grade to differentiate it from Korriban. It also really suits Palpatine. I do like the “grey” recolor though. Something along those lines might be good.

I’ve only seen the orange recolor, has gray been done yet? I can see grey mixed with green from the machine like someone else suggested to imply the Nightsister magic

Both red and grey work so much better than the original. It seems to bring out so much depth and more detail. Nice job.

100% agree and I thought the same about “cool”. I thought that was a bad line and then heard Ghouls which was even worse!

It doesn’t need a line. I just cut to the head drop orchestral stab just after the Troopers look at each other.

That’s exactly what I’m thinking. I originally had shots of other planets but they just stood out as recycled footage, then I designed the Coruscant and kylo scenes but now I’m thinking of mixing both ideas and have the destroyers appear in each sky scene to highlight the treat and change the original footage more. 🤔

In my headcanon I just assumed the First Order had occupied and laid siege to all those worlds in the aftermath of TLJ, paying off what Rey stated in that movie: “The First Order will control all the major systems within weeks”. Perhaps this detail could be included in a redone opening crawl.

I’ve just filmed a tutorial crawl video including my new layout. Should be edited in a few days. So, Do you think that Star Destroyers orbiting each planets atmospheres would be a good set up before the final battle?

I did wonder. I was thinking of adding star destroyers arriving at each planet destination before the battle starts to add to the reason why the galaxy got involved but I couldn’t think of a reason why they would do that unless they were xyston class destroyers.

Why do we see star destroyers crashing on every planet when the fleet is stuck on Exagol?

That’s exactly where I’ve placed it. I played around with many ideas i.e. at the start of the message reveal, when we see Kylos ship, when Rey looks up and senses Chewie or this point. I feel it works here as it now gives that segment of the movie a swift gear shift and gives Lando and Chewie more of a successful reason for getting the fleet together.

but it’s Kylos Tie fighter? and Finn says “Its Ren”. The Whisper is a very different looking TIE fighter compared to all the others. It’s why it can’t be destroyed.

I was trying to make it seem as if Rey and the others were scared of Kylo so they run from him without confrontation, boosting Kylos intimidation and lowering Reys Mary Sue feel.

In my trilogy, Rey doesn’t actually fight Kylo until the DSII scene. I reduced TFA fight to Kylo owning Rey but Rey swinging one lucky strike to give him a scar. I wanted it to feel that Kylo was closing in without actually landing or getting out of his ship. This way it feels like the others are being pinned in with the whisper coming in from one side and the TIEs coming in from the other. There is some more footage to play with but if I stretch it any longer Kylos TIE would seem like a standard horror movie where the monster seems closer in one shot but is actually still far away. It was a tough all to make but I feel it adds to the chase this way.

Rey can’t destroy the whisper as it’s a modified prototype that shouldn’t appear in the following scene if destroyed, it shouldn’t blow up and kylo walks out unhurt after such an explosion and kylo shouldn’t play tug o war with Rey, he should attack her not the ship, my edit eliminates all those issues.

Yet, through the movie, or at least the first time we see both sides (First Order’s board room and Rebels after the get the intel) and the concept of some radio broadcast is not even mentioned, or let alone eluded too. A simple line from either one side (or both) could have said a simple line like “So the broadcast was true/real” or “So Palpatine himself is really behind it” could have made it relevant BUT it’s not at all. So what’s the point of it in the crawl? What’s the point of it at all if neither sides even mentions it. There is no connection to it in the movie. Unless someone acknowledges it, why is it mentioned in the crawl? Let alone trying to put it in.

Anyway, I am really trying not to “talk down to anyone who likes it or wants it,” I just personally don’t understand the need for it since the movie itself doesn’t acknowledge it.

Plus it’s kinda over the top … at least to me personally.

EDIT: as for the extending Kylo’s thinking scene, if it can be smoothed out I like the to add a little breathing room.

There needs to be a reason why the galaxy joins in. They didn’t listen in TLJ so why would they do anything in TROS without a broadcast across the entire galaxy?

TROS opening crawl including Palp has to go. It’s a huge cop out and is a spoiler imo.

Damn! That’s almost identical to the scene I’ve made. They did a good job getting rid of the time code of TFA clip but it doesn’t work in reverse.

What are you using? I can offer to do short clips if needed but I struggle to upload large files atm.

Or right click> speed/duration> change frame sample to option then render in and out to smooth the footage. This works on premiere and final cut pro.

There’s many option to slow down a track but it all depends on the footage. Try some of these option.
