Is that a picture of “Little Orphan Annie” on the top one, second from the left?

Having an HD scan of 97SE ESB would be really helpful for a despecialization of ESB, just to have chimp-woman in HD.
LOL, I’m always beaten to the punch 😉
Eh, it’s still good practice.
A couple friends have tentacles out for the BDs of Superman II and Superman II RDC. I’ll see what I can do.
If I am able to do it, I will do it in two forms:
No guarantees.
Nah, I don’t know anything. 😕 I’m just used to stuff being complicated by multiple releases.
I don’t know if there are multiple releases or not, but that it’s not uncommon for there to be multiple releases of a film on a particular video format, ex-rental versions with bonus features stripped out, reissues with different or more/fewer bonus features, etc., and since it had been out on BD for a while, figured there might have been a “silent reissue” or so which differed from the original.
Dunno what you’re talking about since I just, like right this minute, logged into myspleen.
I think they keep going after him because he just can’t seem to take a hint.
That’s where we got it from, isn’t it?
Well, I figured if I could dig up the proper BD sources, I could create an abbreviated version with the HD material I had, then downgrade that to SD and cut it together with the RIC to create a complete version that still looks superior to the existing version…
(For what it’s worth, I’ve rebuilt about a quarter of CardCaptors and the first 8 eps of Robotech - it might be out of my reach but it might not. I guess it’s like trying to pull a Harmy in reverse.)
How hard would I have to hunt to get the right BD(s) of Superman 2 and Superman 2 RDC, to have the necessary footage? I’ve got the R1 somewhere but that’s obviously not going to be suitable anymore.
I wonder how much of the RIC can be upgraded with the materials we have, keeping in mind that some of the footage common to the Donner Cut and the RIC is processed differently between the two (something I learned during a previous attempt many years ago).
Oh, my. </George Takei>
If but I could get my hands on the stems, I absolutely would put together a true stereo mix, and I might consider whether it could be done in 5.1, with the exact same elements as the mono mix.
We have been looking, without success, for someone in the region who would be able to record it for us. 😕
It is extremely rare for Asian-market English dubs to make it to video anywhere (Cardcaptor Sakura is a counterexample). This would be important to capture for preservation.
Didn’t Alan Dean Foster say he made that up out of whole cloth?
All this Ocean Z footage is giving me a headache. I just got new copies of a few episodes from a FOAF on IRC.
I lost my rebuilt ED, I think, so I’m going to have to redo that, and that’s going to be a pain. Once I do, though, I think it won’t be difficult to throw together a few test episodes, for the maybe 10 or 12 episodes where I think I have the whole episode, the recap, the preview, and a title card taken from the R1 singles (this is the magic).
OK, the question came up, is any of TFA 16:9 on WOWOW. No - it’s all 2.35, sorry.
I made links, knock on wood, but I’m not sure what use these would be…
I’m not sure what I’m supposed to be looking for, as far as non-2.35:1 scenes go, but I have the TS and have been preparing it for upload.
Alien speech is doublesubbed - both English (in the usual place) and Japanese (in the top right).
I’m downloading the subtitled TFA to one of my own servers (had to move a lot of crud around to make room). The routing isn’t as good to my French servers as it is to my friend’s server in Sweden, but I didn’t want to involve it this time. The file is a monstrous 23.2 GB, and probably not very useful, unless maybe the subtitled alien lines are done in such a way as to be clear…
I dunno, it doesn’t make sense to me either. And not just the bitrate, because WOWOW is mpeg-2.
Done.
I suppose, but all I could do is pass on the MEGA links, if they still work…
