Help: looking for... a copy of the 1972-1984 Warner Bros. logo - for my fan project...
Time
thx, I've taken it from Superman 1, though it wasn't the logo I thought it was (it's a special version for WB movies that weren't actually made by WB, which is as true of Superman 2 as 1).

I'm going to go for the gusto here, with 2 fan edits...the DVD almost-RIC for which I have another thread already, and after that, a second cut of Superman 1 and 2 that...

1. Deletes the Lois dying/Superman turning back time from Superman 1, and adds the aftermath of Superman throwing the Hackensack rocket up into space from Superman 2: The Richard Donner Cut into Superman 1 at the very end with a "TO BE CONTINUED..." (cf. the original script)

2. Combines elements of the Donner and Lester cuts of Superman 2, I want to redo the titles though as I hate that damn font Arial Black they used for the Donner Cut.

3. Uses the turn-back-time ending to Superman 2.

I'll prolly use this logo
http://www.usotsuki.info/supes-wblogo.png
for all these movies. The \\' grows from the center of the screen, then RELEASED BY WARNER BROS. fades in, that's what Superman 1 did, it only seems fitting.

Superman 2: DVD RIC (WIP)
Time
OK, now that everyone knows I'm doing this, I'm going to give it a thread...

This is going to be a much easier job, I think, than my "TV Trilogy" project, so I'm going to give it priority. As soon as I have the Donner Cut, which I will either buy or source through one or two of my friends, I can start work on this edit in earnest.

OK, so here's my current standing:

1. I will restore the studio bumper from Superman 1 - Superman 2 got plastered twice, the DVD has the CG Shield. I would rather use the flying W than the matte shield.

2. Every scene from the RIC which I can find, either among Superman 1 Donner Cut, Superman 2 Donner Cut or Superman 2 Theatrical Cut, I will extract and put into its place. - Anyone got a better tool for hacking on mpegs than avidemux? Perhaps, one in which I can drop a vob into the timeline at any I-frame, instead of only at the end? (I use Linux but many Windows programs work fine here. If not, well, I do have Windows XP.)

3. I am not sure what to do if I find stuff I can't restore. I may have to leave it out; the difference between a high quality DVD 2.35:1 and an old 4:3 VHS, converted from NTSC to PAL and back, will be too jarring.

This will be my first attempt to do an edit from VOB rather than AVI.

OK, I just realized my previous post sounded a bit confused. What I'm trying to do is recreate most/all of Superman 2 RIC in widescreen - and I figured while I was at it I'd try to unplaster it, hence the request for the flying W.

BTW, just thought I'd randomly mention the other project I'm working on is dub-over-raw work on Pokemon. 9th movie debuted last night (ran over by an hour and caused a conflict with something else I was going to capture >.<, I have been doing dub-over-raw to try to recover as much uncut stuff as I can. That and my Star Wars project are my biggest projects.

OK, Superman 1 has it? As long as that's true for the NTSC R4 I've been getting off BT (yeah, I admit to warezing most of my movies), then it should be perfect. I already marked Superman 1 as a "possible necessity" for the project ...ok, so you've probably figured out what I'm trying to do... all I have to do now then is find a copy (online or IRL, depends, since I won't have the money for it 'til the 1st), of the Donner cut, and I can splice it all together.

DRESDEN FILES - 2-HOUR PILOT PRESERVATION (Released)
Time
Will this air again soon? An important project for a group I'm in involves capturing something off CN tonight and unfortunately, as a side effect of TV Guide being incorrect, I lost 10 minutes of the program - it's reairing now and those 10 minutes fall during this episode. :/

I don't have an archive of the episode, I don't think. I do have a friend who could reobtain it - but not in the quality of my settop, probably - only as a 350 MB AVI, probably. :/

I’m looking, if anyone can find it, it’s said that it’s quite hard to find anymore, for a copy of the 1972-1984 Warner Bros. logo, to use in a fan edit of a movie released during that time period, the closest pic I can find of it is this for Warner Music on Wikipedia:

http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/ru/thumb/6/69/Wmg_logo.gif/140px-Wmg_logo.gif

Thanks if you can find me it, and thanks even more if it’s 2.35:1 (approximate AR of the movie I’m editing)

Return of the Jedi Remixer Boss Edition (* unfinished project *)

Yeah, sounds like we're spinning our wheels talking to him...

...for the record I have 3 "episode bodies" for my ROTS project already, although I'll admit, it's more as a proof of concept like all my other projects, and I know it's going to be junk quality compared to what others here can accomplish. I do my work for me, but I know people here have interest in projects like mine, so I bounce ideas off people here and take ideas from people here too.

Star Wars: Classic Edition 2.0 NEW from Ocpmovie (Released)
Time
I torrented only one of them as I recall, but I made all 3...could prolly torrent them all again...

Star Wars - 1.1 GB, with commentary track (ogm), 836x352
Empire Strikes Back - 826 MB (!), no special features (avi), 852x352, +5.1 MB file with similar settings for Emperor scene redubbed
Return of the Jedi - 1.1 GB, no special features (avi), 836x352

I have to tweak the header of Return of the Jedi, sometimes perfectly valid mpeg-4 avis are rejected because the 4cc is FMP4 instead of XVID or DX50... I might also strip out the commentary track for Star Wars
