Thanks to the Internet, it's becoming harder and harder to make things truly disappear. xD

Just running Stab, MDegrain2 and RemoveDirt does wonders in making this look pretty nice although it doesn't fix the slightly wacky colors.
It's no substitute for more proper cleanup techniques, though.
Yeah, the Dragon Box - and all R2 releases of Dragon Ball (not to mention the R1s of DBGT based on the same masters) are all colorshifted to hell...as are most Toei DVDs these days :/
I've got a rip on my other computer, but the computer has a dead cpu fan that needs to be replaced first. It went through the analog hole in component.
comp.sys.apple2, comp.os.cpm and comp.emulators.apple2
Hey now, I still use Usenet :P
There's always ColorYUV(levels="tv->pc") or whatever to convert between the two.
Different people have different ideas of the best way to clean stuff up, and some people like their sources warty. Can't say I blame them.
There is something to be said about watching a warty scan in its raw state, though - if it's done well and looks like the real thing, it could be utter crap (as in worse than those 8mm scans) and you'd still get this vibe from it, because you can feel the filmicness of it. And these are really good despite the dirt, noise and excess grain.
With some primp and polish, it would be easy to beat the pants off the GOUT in every regard.
Ain't that a bit much out in the open? o.O;
Just saw the first few minutes and it's looking great!
Bit more beat-up than I prolly would have seen had I seen it in a movie theater, but that goes with the turf I suppose...
I'll see what I can find, but my stash of dvdisos isn't exactly easy to seek through :/.
Anyway, here's one of the ones that stood out as particularly bad (keeping in mind, for some reason I'm unable to get the image insert dialog to show up):

This is actually the exact same frame, the first shot of the final episode after the OP.
Has to do with me seeing the site itself as a cesspit, similar to the chans.
Looks like I'll be out of the loop, then... I make it a habit to NOT visit Reddit.
Wasn't the new series' Snarf voiced by Satomi "Togepi" Korogi? </random>
You do know "VOSTFR" means "Original Version, French Subtitles" right?
Confirming that ABC is 720p.
Disney XD is 720p too.
I dunno, there's a difference between "looks filmic" and "looks grindhouse"...
(Didn't look at anything referenced)
Depends on the player. Generally...no.
If you have an infinite budget try for 70mms xD
Sounds about right. British terrestrial is infamously low-bitrate and low-resolution.
I do have some original broadcast audio for Z, as well as improved audio (R3TW and Tokyo MX) for some of GT.
Also I have some old Animax rips of GT. When a 96 kbps stereo mp3 is better than the 448 kbps dual-mono AC3 on the official DVD...
Huh, I haven't heard of Dragon Ball getting mangled in editing, just really bad mastering...
Still 404 :P
It's certainly been deleted from that site...
It was P&S, but the OPED were letterboxed on Star Wars proper.
