1. "probably with lasers" what if it is something else, in my opinion it does sound plausible, if it doesn't to you then...is a matter of opinion. How the fingerprint reacts to the environment I think neither of us is qualified enough to say it can or can't, as I said it sounds plausible, but again, is a matter of opinion.

2. Don't like the eject-a-pod? nor the chase? ok...again, keyword: "like" I can't say anything about likes since they are as personal as things get.

3. The Voice changer it has been implied in the related material in the DVD that it is inside the cowl, lame explanation? maybe. HE does the change, probably. (in the comics HE does it so...whatever)

Why we are having this argument? because I saw things that *could* happen dismissed as pointless and dumb and impossible, but you have nailed the point home for me: if people make fan edit to fix mistakes is one thing and those mistakes can be reasoned, argued and discussed, if they want to for the sake of their own whim/like/dislike then there's no point in arguing since as I said above likes are personal, but then why have a forum to discuss your own tastes if in the end when a different opinion arises someone is just going to shoot the argument with "I like it this way" and finish it, the point of a forum is discuss things openly, if the point is show what you did out of "taste" then all post should just be "I like it" and "I don't" and nothing comes out of it. Again you hit the point home for me: hammering things that are "tastes" with reason IS dumb (the word you used is jerk) I though we were hammering things that were considered mistakes, hence be reasoned with.

I sense your post ends with something along the lines of "don't like it, don't download it" which again goes with what I said above: "what's the point of showing your *tastes*, you show reasons to fix mistakes, since those can be argued, tastes are tastes.

And I'm not attacking you man, easy. We are talking.

ChainsawAsh pretty much nailed it right there. Thank you. You don't think the smile is out of place....? ok....

I just mentioned Adywan because he has "upped the ante" (sp?) so to speak as to the standard of which a fanedit can be, tough to reach? you bet, but he set a standard.

Now your edit can still be YOUR edit, your personal points of view as to what is important and what is not....I was just giving my opinion because I thought your edit was a GOOD edit which would make the films better, but it can stay just as your *personal* edit......

Also, vis-a-vis Dooku leaving after taking out Obi-Wan and Anakin...I think the idea is that he's a Jedi, not a Sith in these fanedits. Thus, he has no reason to murder them; he only needs to neutralize them so he can make his escape. Their disagreement is primarily political, not religious.

Religion has nothing to do with dispatching the two Jedi, Obi-Wan is a threat on a political level since he knows the TF Viceroy is behind the attempt on Padme's life, Obi-Wan was a hostage, from every point of view if he is starting a war, which is why he is building so many battle droids, if he leaves two Jedi out there they could heal and come after him, tactics in war dictate he should have finished them, religion or no religion, at that point they were beyond politics and right into open war tactics, and tacts indicate dispatch your heavy threats....leaving that just makes him a weak character. But as Jason N said: whatever....

1. impossible to get a fingerprint out of a shattered bullet...just plain stupid? mmmm well...just because you can't imagine how it could be done doesn't make it impossible. Cellular phones make "impossible" predictions on voice patterns like that every second of every minute of every hour of every day in every cell network in the world, impossible? I say maybe a stretch, but not impossible. CSI? you don't like it? well then do some research as to what can be done with computers these days, starting with fan edits.

2. You don't like it because it's weird? that's moot. The spreading of the software to all cellphones in gotham is a much more powerfull argument, Over The Air systems do exist, the download programs to cell phones, sometimes with the subscriber not even knowing it, again, a stretch? maybe. The Joker point you make would be a valid one were it not for the fact that the Joker has a cell phone, you see him using it during the burning of cash scene and to get commands to his henchmen. That Sonar technology is impossible and that annoys you? good thing we have Tumblers strolling around everywhere and they all come with their ejec-a-pod bike inside right? and that doesn't annoy you because it is soooooooo real.

3. He doesn't have a voice changer? and you KNOW that for fact because you wrote the script right?

Jar-Jar? "I have a bad feeling about this"...as a side note: I can't imagine what pushed GL to creat a creature such as Jar Jar....he could have gone with something "chewie" like and have that character be the "Chewie" of the PT for Anakin, of course he could have died at the end or what ever but why pursue a creature so.....utterly..........OK! Back to ESB.

Among one of those things of doing "something just because you can", how about showing the googles of the AT-AT that recognize the power generator be more flashhy? hehehe ok, turbolaser time now.....

thank you DarthBo, it's not a matter of subtitles or not (which I did read). Yeah, she says that (Obi1 has no reason to just believe at face value a dying bounty hunter) but when he goes to the archive the part he needs is cut, so he just goes trusting the BH.....again doesn't click.

People I can't believe you want to re-edit a perfect movie like TDK.

1. He shots bullets in the Bat-Bunker in an attempt to re-create the shattering pattern impact of the bullet, so that the scanner knows what to piece together, pattern recognition of that level is not that far off from The Dark Knight's resources, especially if you consider that tougher pattern recognition is already done these days by federal agencies. If you watch it thoroughly you'll see he doesn't assume the location of the apartment by the parade, Alfred cross-checks the fingerprints extracted from the bullet with the address convict database and finds the apartment. That part really shows how much further Batman can go into things compared to the police. Similar things? watch CSI Las Vegas for that.

Bruce is like one of the paparazzi-harassed celebrities of our time, he NEEDS an explanation, that's why he steals the ballet so that the people in Gotham think he went "honeymooning" with them. The girls don't care if Bruce jumps ship later.

The sonar thing is another example of SUPER-HIGH tech that Batman has (which btw scientist in the US have come close to achieving, check engadget for that).

Batman's voice is changed due to his voice changer, is it over the top in TDK? maybe, but how change that?

You do realize that those arguments actually prevent any improvement? I hate the "pleased to meet you" crap too but something could be done, like cutting the line down to "you are a jedi too?" and then going to Qui-Gon, or cutting it to "pleased to meet you" downing  the pitch and leaving it....I mean just cutting won't do it, some "Adywan-style" reworkings (like FX, sound, etc) must be done.....

KOTCS suffers from a lot of non-sense (escape a nuke in a fridge? c'moooon!) but if you are going to replace foolishness to try to get it better, you could change the music of mariachis in Perú (unheard of) to actual peruvian music (much different) also that foolishness of "working my way through mayan" crap, they are not even similar languages much less "workable" that's just stupid!

I downloaded AOTF and TOTR and while AOTF was a VERY good fanedit with just a few minor flaws in your work TOTR was more prone to those flaws and I was a bit less satisfied. AOTF is almost flawless and I say almost because there are a couple of moments when you don't understand the reaction of the characters, case in point: when Qui-Gon jumps to the ship he tells about Darth Maul to OB1 and introduces Anakin, in your edit Obi and Ani just shake hands and that's it, but then it cuts to Qui-Gon getting a surprised smile that you don't get where it comes from. Of course you know in the back of your mind it's because Anakin's remark about the Jedi, but in you edit Qui-Gon's reaction seems out of place. Similar things happen in the Jedi Council scenes. As I said I liked AOTF a lot, Anakin seems more mature (in spite of jake lloyds looks and acting) but things like that momentarily take you out of the movie. I would have liked if you had done minor things like adding a droid language to the battledroids like the one the imperial  probe droid had on Hoth, certain scenes look ackward with the droids looking at each other silent, I agree there's no need for those stupid "roger roger" dialogues, but maybe an "alien" language that is creepy enough...like that probe droid sounds....same could go for the Neimoidians, with subtitles, their sounds could be more threatening...and it would enhance your edit more.

Now TOTR is a whole different cookie, you see more and more of those moments I said, especially during the Anaking / Padme scenes. Certain things that are set at the begining of the film are gone, like the whole Kamino finding: since there's no Dex and Obi-Wan can't find the planet at the archives are we to suppose that he just embarked on a wild goose chase? why would he go there? it just doesn't click. It's tricky since while you watch the edits you are playing the originals in your mind so sometimes you complete certain things to understand the plot, other times you just let go and take only your edit and you realize something is not making sense. Same goes for the duel scene. As your edit goes Count Dooku dispatches 2 JEDI single handedly and then for no reason he escapes while Padme is just arriving. In the original we know it's because Yoda just owned him, but since in your edit Yoda never came to the rescue, Dooku could've taken out both Jedi, Padme and the Clones.....it doesn't make sense why he would escape. And there are other moments like that where the editing just doesn't click. Maybe you can look into it and achieve something like AOTF....my 2 cts.

I agree that the time has been reduced and the demand has expanded, but let's not forget computers and software double their power every 18 months, so it's not that far a stretch to ask for more shots in less time, the key is how far the director wants to go, in a show like SW you can't compare the ship you are modelling since there's no ships in real life, in Transformers and Iron Man (shows that set standard as truly flawless CG integration) you can compare your CGI to the real cars and prop-made suit....

Keyphrase: "if they were done right" the fact that Adywan is fixing so many mistakes proves LFL can't do it right.....

As a side note: is incredible that established companies can't do the work of a lone hell-bent fan in his PC, this is why I think hover cars and holograms and that sort of thing will come from modders and hackers rather than "big industry", ok rant over. carry on.

I find that shot with the MF running away from the 2 ties shifting on it's Y-axis through the cannyon quite good, it's a great example of superb piloting from Han and how the 2 ties collide with each other funny, what changes are you gonna do? detail? opticals or remove the shot? :(

the German HD broadcasts, along with the SKYHD ones were transmitted in 1080p so the source used is true HD

True Hd, music to my ears.

All the OT Holograms are in color.....Vader in the AT-AT is bluish....but that can be an optical mistake ok..mmmm....I think I shot myself in the foot there didn't I? I had forgotten....then why did you say "The holograms in the PT are going to be downgraded and visually match the OT" when they are clearly already downgraded as in all bluish while in the OT as you so graphically showed are in color? did you mean like the clear-cut-edge, resolution, clarity or something like that?

Luke's hologram in ROTJ is in color as are the holochess game pieces in ANH and the attack plans on the Deathstar II. The general theme is that all communication holograms are in blue while prerecorded ones are in color. Which is why it has always annoyed me that the attack plans in TPM for the palace are all blue with a single red line.

You are so right! Luke's is in color too, so...if it's a retrieved file is in color, and all real-time comm is bluish? makes sense, real-time comm is much more demanding of network resources than retrieving a pre-saved file hehe. The plans for the palace you are referring to are the blueprints of the structure, maybe they wanted to reinforce the idea that they are blueprints not holo-photos from the palace, and hence generated from an architectural file which are usually monochrome, the red line is the route she is showing. Not to be annoyed by that.

The holograms in the PT are going to be downgraded and visually match the OT, maybe even lower tech because after all the Pt shouldn't be so much more hi-tech than the OT when its set in the past. And the " its a much more prosperous time" excuse is just lame. Our world has been in much more prosperous times but our technology is more advanced now than it ever was. cockpits, displays and even some ships will have a complete OT overhaul in the PT

I didn't see anything overly special about the holograms in the PT, they were all bluish and very similar to the ones in the OT, the only hologram to stand out in the entire saga is the Leia message because it is in color, all others are bluish, even in the PT. 100% agreed about the lame excuse that "it is a much more prosperous time" it just doesn't match, it can go 2 ways: overhaul the OT to match the PT *screens, holograms and Hi-tech (something you have said you won't do) OR downgrade the PT to match the OT (something I sense goes more to your liking) but as you say they can't stay like that.

hahahaha Rick Olie in every scene! haha good one. I was thinking on the whole "hasty evacuation" thing and maybe add more ships, not so much as a siren (as to not detach from the sound FX and the musical cue of the escape) but A LOT of ships leaving in groups (think the rebel fighters at the end of ANH) so that you just know it's scram-time

I don't know what's up with the red tone, I know the point is to show sunset but has anyone gotten the impression that they over do it? a good rule of design is to avoid "flattening" the image with the same color all over the place, some little contrast, some different color here or there to balance things out, but there are some Bespin shots that are just overly reddish.....as a side note.

05 is correct the bolt is behind R2 and you can clearly see R2 heading for the falcon in that scene so i can't see why you think it is a mistake in compositing.

I agree with the shape and time, it must be R2, but if it where I would expect to be some detail that shows it is him, as it is now there's just an empty detail-less space there, maybe the frame in movement will show him, I'm just saying as it is now nothing appears there.....
