Or how about something like this after Leia calls out to Ben on the Death Star wreckage:
Or how about something like this after Leia calls out to Ben on the Death Star wreckage:
Well, I can make Adam Driver say anything we want, really. I was just envisioning placing a clip like that when Rey and Ben connect in the dyad before the Palpy fight. Maybe add an echo effect over the voice so that it’s clear they’re communicating telepathically.
Sorry for the double post, but how do we feel about something like this for a v3:
I can edit the cadence and delivery a bit.
What… is different about that clip?
She’s got Sith eyes. Very subtle.
Not wanting to break the
tenuous peace with the
remnants of the former
Empire, several senators
in the New Republic have
secretly authorized a daring
task force to resist the
rising threat of an extremist
faction called the FIRST
ORDER.
I like this crawl the best so far, personally. I would just reword this section as the following:
Seeking to keep the tenuous
peace with the remnants of
the fallen Empire, several
senators in the New Republic
have secretly authorized a
daring task force to resist
the rising threat of an
Imperial faction known as
the FIRST ORDER.
What I like best about this crawl is it suggests there are other Imperial remnant factions out there (which we will see with the Final Order and the Sith Eternal in TROS).
I’d say the visuals are pretty darn close, all things considered. After the de-age you might not be able to tell mid-viewing, only if you put them side by side like that.
You might want to edit out Anakin’s right shoulder, as it freezes in place otherwise. Having the wipe come in from the right would work, but it might be visually confusing. In regards to audio, this is definitely an improvement.
The way it reads to me seems like a troll. Honestly, I’d be concerned for that individual’s mental health if it wasn’t.
I agree with both of you. At this point, I’m on the hunt for mostly additive editions of everything except the sequels. Although something like Jar Jar stepping in shit is definitely just cringe and needs to go.
That’s one hell of an impression. Dang. I thought it had to be AI.
Speaking of looking more similar, the above edits are excellent but their picture quality is superior to AOTC. What settings would capture the same weirdly lit, slightly fuzzy look?
Maybe add in some more film grain? The lighting on this was already changed I believe.
The music transition at the end isn’t 100% smooth, but everything else is absolutely perfect! I’d love to use it in an extended edit myself, the de-age stuff doesn’t worry me too much.
Ooh now this is an extended edition I want to see!
The flashback would work best in an edit which retains Anakin resenting Obi-Wan for “holding him back” I feel like. Which this edit thankfully removes.
Have you or are you going to do eps 1 & 2,I think ep 2 has some great character moments with padme, I’ve tried to do extended versions of prequels before myself but for some reason the deleted scenes judder and look out of place so I’ve given up 😂
Honestly I’d be super interested in this as well so long as the Kenobi flashback was included. I wonder how long the movie would be at that point. Nearing 3 hours surely.
Remembered this thread and decided to have a go at adding fitting score to the scene (taken mostly from Episode II).

The sound effects are unfinished, the biggest thing I need to do (other than stabilizing some of the handheld shots) is extend the final shot so that a wipe can work. I’m mostly happy with how the music sounds, but some of the transitions could use some tweaking I think. Plus Anakin’s theme at the beginning could be replaced with more ‘scene transition-y’ music.
Honestly something like this is all Episode 2 needs to sell Anakin and Obi-Wan’s relationship. Heck, I think including this enables the use of him complaining to Padme in her apartment and maybe even his mental breakdown after the Tuskens. “He’s holding me back!” and all that.
I think he posted them at some point on one of his threads for the SE edits. I remember watching them. But idk if they’re still up.
Those come from his custom SE edits of the original trilogy.
Honestly this sounds pretty darn good. I’d already replaced the ending of TAS with the original so I could still have the Yoda duel but I don’t believe I have any issues with what Malgus is describing either. I’d appreciate a PM when you’re done with this as well, Hal.
I hope so too.
I think we’re both referring to, “And General, unless that shield is destroyed…nobody can save us.”
Maybe another off screen rebel could be calling for 3PO, needing his help. Or some droid beeps. It could just be a subtle background voice/sound, but something like that could provide some logic to his action.
Ask and ye shall receive.
It’s funny, but also kinda brings the scene together.
I’ve noticed that Leia’s Lego lines are pitched way higher than she actually speaks in the film. I’d recommend adjusting that a bit to blend in better.
Hear me out, what if instead of sending the entire Republic fleet but too late, they are instead sending a reconnaissance squad to investigate Leia’s claims?
EDIT: Just read what you said before this post. I understand.
I’d never actually considered it that way, RL. I really like that.
The only potential conflict there is electric judgment, which is supposed to be a light side ability. Might make some viewers think she isn’t actually using the dark side.
I remember seeing much more than two buildings. Also, 1000 generations times an average of 100 years is 100,000 years. That’s a lot more than the couple thousand or so years we see for the structures left here on Earth.
Ah well, like you said, this is kind of a moot point.
Sure, but like, all I’m saying is that realistically speaking there would be nothing but some weathered bricks laying around by the time Luke shows up there. Not nearly enough to make the numerous structures we see (and mind you he’d have to do it all by hand without the Force due to his cutting off).
Place probably hasn’t been inhabited for countless generations.
Thing is, they aren’t exactly crumbling. In fact, they’re in remarkably good condition considering the fact that they were likely built thousands of generations ago.
Thus exactly why the Caretakers were invented.
