I’ve already said it before, but I guess I’ll say it again: keep the no ring shot please.
I’ve already said it before, but I guess I’ll say it again: keep the no ring shot please.
I love the new ending! As for the wilhelm scream, my vote is for B, mostly because A is much more of an intense and serious moment for the characters.
Here’s my take on the current crawl we have in the plan:
Luke Skywalker has ignited a resurgence of hope across
the galaxy. Inspired by his legend, the brave have
risen in defiance of the diabolical FIRST ORDER.
REY, sole heir to the Jedi, advances her training with
the guidance of General Leia Organa, seeking to
commune with Jedi of the past for wisdom.
Meanwhile, Supreme Leader KYLO REN, determined to stifle
the uprising, scours the Mustafar system to uncover the
mysterious source of his former master’s power. . . .
Any thought on removing rhe Matrix shot from the Luke fight? Would love to see that removed too!
I’m personally fine with that shot. I can still remember seeing the movie for the first time and gasping when he does that. I get that maybe it doesn’t seem very Star Wars-like, but this movie is full of moments like that. Besides, at least this one is cool.
4D is definitely my favorite. Although 4E is a close second.
I’m fine with Han tossing the guy. I would prefer if Han shooting without looking stayed in, with the “huh” left out. I always liked it, and don’t find it unbelievable, especially with Han being the skilled shooter we know he is. There’s a lot of other stuff more unbelievable in these movies. It’s the kind of thing you would see in a cowboy movie (Han is pretty much a space cowboy) and they don’t have the force. I think it should stay, especially with the callback to it that we get with Ben in TROS.
+1
- consider adding “Across the Stars” to when Kylo and Rey kiss
I had this exact same thought the other day.
I may be the only person that feels this way, but I think that removing the scene between Leia and Wicket serves to enhance the movie in a couple of different ways. The first reason being that our hypothetical audience won’t know for certain what happened to Leia. Did she get captured by Stormtroopers? Will she be brought before Vader? The second being that the Ewoks seem much more threatening when they capture the other characters because we never saw Wicket being kind to Leia. It’s also a genuine surprise when it’s revealed Leia is staying with the Ewoks.
Not to mention that the last time Luke used his green lightsaber he was about to attack his nephew. It’s probably best that he uses the blue one.
I watched V6 and I love the edit. Fantastic work. The kissing scene at the lake is unfortunately not optimal. Just as the music gets really emotional, the scene ends. No idea if this is going to fix. What scene I’ve never liked - Anakin is reluctant to fly to Geonosis because Windu gives him the command. It seems like Anakin did not want to save his master. Terrible scene. Apart from that, the edit is awesome. Fantastic work Hal.
I’ve noticed that odd cut as well. It’s obviously done that way to remove Padme saying, “I shouldn’t have done that”, but at the same time different music might help quite a bit.
Yeah, there’s a deleted scene called “A Plot to Destroy the Jedi?” where Mace says that Palpatine should be removed from office if he doesn’t give up his powers after the defeat of Grievous. He even says that the dark side of the force surrounds him. Therefore, it might make sense for him to arrest the chancellor without Anakin’s tip.
Congrats on finishing V6! Looks promising, and I can’t wait to check it out.

*Reinstated the original ending to the packing sceneOh no, please don’t tell me you reinstated the moment where Anakin stares lustfully at Padme and she tells him that he’s making her feel uncomfortable, to which he smiles(!) like an absolute creep. That’s easily one of my least favorite moments in the entire film. My reaction every time I see it is “get the hell out of there Padme”. Especially in the #MeToo era, this moment seems in poor taste, and I felt the way you had handled it previously was completely seamless.
I just saw V6, and he did add it back in.
Not entirely sure why it was, either. That moment is not only creepy but it also makes me cringe.
Yes I just watched most of this edit and I have to say: it was terrible. Very disappointing.
