FOX issuing takedown notices to Sith downloaders
Time
By downloading it, you are costing someone who paid for the rights money. Whether it's a television station, movie house, video rental place, etc.. you are costing someone money who bought the rights to show it or sell it to you because they thought you and other people like you would buy it. Instead, you bought it and can watch it without ever giving anyone invloved with the project a dime for that viewing. Now, if you've downloaded it and would like to send Lucasfilm or your local theater the $7.50 each time you watch it, go right ahead..it is the right thing to do.

Does anyone know what happened to this footage?

Regarding a shot from the "Sydney Reel", as shown at the 2002 SMPTE Seminar:

There was one shot inside Jango's apartment (this being just after the Fetts' hasty departure) showing Obi-Wan from the waist up, facing left and moving his hands over a few things on a counter/stand while thoughtfully looking around. His hood covers his head (without obscuring the face) and his cloak is just lightly wet from being outside. The spot where he stands seems to be an area or angle of the set that the audience does not get a good view of during the earlier apartment scene.

There are a some items laying about in disarray. They look to be containers and other random items having a white plastic and/or chrome appearance. Because the apartment was very sparse in the earlier scene, it seemed odd now to see several objects sitting around the room. Again, I can't tell for sure if it was a different location from before or the same general area, but from a different angle and with things sitting out. The script mentions a bedroom area and maybe this was it. Regardless, what was visible was not actually that cluttered or disorderly - just enough to see that perhaps something had been going on. Towards the end of the shot Kenobi has a look of concern and is about to turn and move on. The shot lasted perhaps 10+ seconds and was not digitally embellished.
-Greg Rossiter

I assume that Lucasfilm was there and presented this to the crowd. If not, maybe we should hunt down who was in charge of this Seminar and grab a copy.

That's odd. I took my quote from the Fourth Version of the script. Hmm....

I understand he is referring to Obi Wan, but the last time he felt a tremor in the Force was around Obi Wan? What is the Emperor, chopped liver?

different tremor...there were 4 movies afterall

haha, well....it must have been like LSD standing in the Jedi Temple. Tremors happening all over the place, all unique. No wonder Anakin seemed annoyed in every scene in which he was in the Temple.

Why would being in the presence of Obi Wan cause a tremor in the Force? Wouldn't that get to be a bit distracting, as much as Obi Wan and Anakin saw each other, that everytime Obi Wan walked into the room, there was a tremor in the Force?

It could easily be said that the twins, two spawn from a being created by the highest concentration of the Force ever recorded, being near birth would cause a tremor. Thus, the two twins are seperated until Obi Wan and Luke arrive on the Death Star.

It's a stretch, of course, but feeling a 'tremor' seems like a very odd thing to say.

I would give real money to get ahold of that scene in dvd quality... That and the rest of the homestead scenes.

You and me both.

I've also added an exchange back into the film that was cut, for reasons I'm still not sure. Probably for pacing :eyeroll

ROTS: Incoherence ... (attention, a little bit of spoiler inside)
Time
I don't think Obi Wan ever OWNED a droid, I think the droids he has are Republic Military Astromech droids, meaning they are assigned to his fighter. Individuals, such as Padme or even the Skywalkers would OWN a droid. Obi Wan simply uses the ones that come with his ship.

He tells Luke that Vader helped the Emperor hunt down and kill all the Jedi. Well, he sorta did. As far as Obi Wan knows, Anakin did help the Emperor as he set the message in the Temple to tell all the Jedi to return. And Anakin would know where all the Jedi were, too.

How do you know when the construction of the second Death Star began? I've never seen it.

And, the force is strong with the Skywalker's, so Leia could have feasible sensed her mother and her feelings while in the womb.

That's what it says in the film now, but for some reason I remember him sayin "I love democracy, really I do". Ah well, who knows.

Anyways, I might as well us this thread as a collection thread for my Attack of the Clones Extended Edition DVD. What I was hoping to get from all of you is a list of removed lines of dialogue and film that is actually availible in DVD quality that can be added back into the film.

Obviously, the deleted scenes on the DVD can be reinserted. Anyone know of any other material that exists?

I noticed that this board wasn't around when AOTC was released, and I did a search to see if I could find this answer:

In the scene when Palp gains more power from the Senate, he says "I love democracy..." He then finishes it with something I don't remember him saying. I always remembered him saying "I love democracy, really I do".

Am I nuts, or did this really originally happen?

A modest proposal: Should Lucas make more OT changes?
Time
If he were to ever add scenes the Star Wars (again of course), I would think a scene in which Vader returns to the Emperor as Dooku does. While we don't need an explanation, it always seemed odd that single manned TIE Fighters weren't supposed to make it out that far into space, but Vader somehow made it back to a Imperial stronghold after spinning out of control.

I think that as long as the ORIGINALS eventually are released, CGI the thing to hell if he wants. The fact that there are about 7 TIE Fighters defending the Death Star has always kinda bugged me. Or that the Star Destroyers are chasing the Rebel Runner without any TIE defenses. Or that the data readouts at the Rebel Base for the Death Star plans look like Atari games. While I don't want Obi Wan and Vader bouncing off the walls, I think a few kicks or faster blade swings using CGI and face placements would look great, as a new edition. Not as the defenitive edition, but a new edition.

Alot of the CGI used for the SEs looks EXTREMELY dated now. Why not just replace all the laser blasts and saber blades with new CGI to match the excellent looking ones in the PT? Hell, as long as it was a CARBON COPY, I'd like to see a CGI Yoda, just for fun, not because I think it would look better.

I dunno, it'd be fun to see him tinker with it, but not at the expense of losing the ORIGINALS even further.

Dooku was a Sith Lord, Darth Tyrannus.

Not necessarily...
In fact, late in the film, Obi-Wan may even mention that Dooku was right all along...

But I would assume that Obi-Wan would still believe that Dooku was fooled, much like Anakin. I mean, we don't want to comprimise Obi Wan's moral standing here.

You're edit is your own, but sitting here re-reading the script, alot of the dialogue between Obi Wan and Anakin is great at the beginning of the film. I would cut down the space between "Hold on, you're not helping anything" and then "You're right, bad idea". There is a weird space between the responses that kills the comedic timing. However, one line that is CLASSIC: Wait a minute, how'd this happen! We're smarter than this.

Actually I disagree. Most of the banter in the space battle is too much. I think a good idea would be to cut Anakin blasting Obi-Wan's ship, and instead cutting to the part where he swoops in and removes them with his wing, you know a "great pilot". There's some bad acting in that scene, mostly from Christensen.

Without the banter, Obi Wan and Anakin's relationship is more like QuiGon and Obi Wan and not a true friendship. Without the two actually liking each other, as shown in those scenes, then the betrayal is meaningless.

In fact, there is more of it that comes in before Anakin says 'lock on Artoo' that I wish was included. Not to mention the scenes in the hanger that were cut that would have been nice to have as well.

I've seen stills of him impaling her (though it was written to be a decapitation) with completed effects and Matt Wood has said that he's going in to record new Grievous dialogue for the dvd.
If they were to use the Anakin killing Shaak Ti scene, I would bet it would just be reincorporated into the film. It's too short and quick to be a deleted scene.

I'd love a link to that image, as I write for a DVD website and we have an ongoing feature that shows the script that is missing when it has been confirmed to have been shot. Thus, that image would confirm it.

Yes, remember when Anakin asks if Obi Wan had been there? The scene in which he actually went there was cut. Also, in the scene following that with Anakin, he originally sat in the same place Obi - Wan had and says "I sense something....fimiliar" which I thought was cool. During Jar Jar's scene, Palpatine questions Obi Wan's abilities on the mission in which he had wanted Anakin to go one and says that he has heard idle Senate gossip that Obi Wan has been involved in an affair with a young female senator. Her identity is unknown, but that the rumor is being spread. Later on, in the scene in which the Senators present the petition to the Chancellor, Palpatine says that Padme is hiding something, and that he doesn't think she can be trusted. Anakin continues to defend her, but the seed of doubt is continuely placed. Thus, when Anakin acts paranoid it rings true, and that is why he is tired of hiring about Obi Wan and feels betrayed.

Also, about a quarter of the ObiWan/Anakin fight was cut, Anakin using force powers similiar to ESB and some solid dialogue.

Someone asked if anyone was doing an edits. I plan on doing an EXTENDED Edit when the deleted scenes are released. Hopfully a majority of the film that was cut is included, and not just the 5 or 6 scenes that was said by Rick. If you read the script, alot was removed, alot of good subplots were removed (ObiWan accused of affair with Padme, the Rebel Alliance, the Wookies). So, I will try to bridge all of the deleted scenes back into the film for an extended version. And I will also do an edited version of the film that does not change the story, per se, but edits it alittle cleaner taking out awkward pacing and bad dialogue, similar to what I'm doing currently with TPM. Also, in that edit, other sound cues will be used in scenes that lack scores (ie Jabba's sail barge fight cue used on the bridge of GG ship).

So, that's what I'll do come November.
