Kevin Smith interview in Rolling Stone on fans - Couldn't have said it better myself...
Time
You do realize you just made something up about Kevin Smith and then ripped into him about it. You have NO proof that Kevin Smith is currently part of Lucasfilm or that he will be in the future. Just because he hosted a Lucasfilm sponsered fanfest a few years ago doesn't mean he sold his soul to the devil. I personally would love to host such a thing, and it wouldn't stop me blasting ROTJ from here to the Endor Moon.

And, of the top of my head, I don't know if he directed it or just acted in it, but Dogma was brilliant.

If you read the making of book, you'll see that they had ALOT of new programmers on this film, people that had never worked on a Star Wars film before. There was a good amount of corrections that had to be done by GL because things were being done graphically that didn't fit the 'laws' of the Star Wars universe. Also, alot of the CGI stuff towards the end was cut or reduced, probably this battle included, because of a strapping of cash. They wasted alot of money CGI'ng scenes that Lucas eventually cut because he wanted the movie to be more about Anakin. Thus, when it came time to do some of the additional effects work that was left for last, they were trying to get it as good as they could in just a few mockups because the dollar total was increasing each day.

Just got done reading the making of ROTS book, and alot of little scenes have I found. Kidding aside, I no know where Shaak Ti dies. Obi Wan and Anakin come upon Shaak Ti standing in a hallway, with battle droids standing behind her, as if she is leading them. Suddenly, you see a cloak open and her lightsaber (along with two others in it) hanging there. You hear the power on sound and the blade rips through her back. Grevious is then revealed.

The Yoda on Dagobah scene was done digitally and was in the film as of the printing of that book.

So, was I included in the 4 sent this week?

noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!

no more messing with the OOT!!!!!!!

wheither you like the Ewoks or not , they are part of the OOT and therefor should remain.

Would you feel the same way if I was planning on editing the SE's to minimize the Ewoks?

The Ewoks stretch beyond plausibility, as if the Imperial Troops wouldn't have seen while out on patrol Ewoks hoisting giant logs up in the air or this odd collection of tree trunks 'just off to the left'. Not only that, but the little buggers have tiny little legs, making speed almost impossible. The first two movies were all about mystery, excitement and intrigue. 70% of ROTJ was this way as well. Unfortunately, we get story time with teddy bear and a group of tiny forrest creatures who can accomplish what a well armed, well funded human Rebellion couldn't do for 30 years. Plus, we have this bloated (pun intended) Jabba the Hutt scene, in which it's like 'A Week in the Life' of Jabba the Hutt, as every character has to have their own entrance. Cut it down, get to the point.

As for the space battle in ROTS, alot was cut out of the script, because it wasn't important to the story of Anakin. Anakin and Obi-Wan were always to leave the battle and stay on 'the mission'. I guess they could have intercut the space battle outside with the Clones, but it wasn't needed because the real story isn't about the war, it's about Anakin Skywalker. The OT is about Luke Skywalker and the Rebellion, as Leia and Han are part of it and are major characters.

This would work if you are cutting out the 'storytime' stuff, because Luke leaves at night and you could assume that the Rebels shortly after go to attack the bunker.

I'm sorry, but as good as the Emperor stuff is, I can't stand ROTJ for it's elongated Jabba scenes and the Ewoks. It's as bad as the first two PT films in this way. As I said after I had seen it, ROTS bumped ROTJ out of what I consider the 'best trilogy'.

Of course, we would preserve the films as they were originally, with Ewok slapstick and trees smashing AT-STs, but if we go on with it, we cannot complain at anything GL does to SW...

No, because I have had no problem with George Lucas tinkering with the films. My bone of contention is that the original versions have not been released. Personally, I like alot of the SE version of ESB. But I also want to be able to have the OOT version. Much like the EE versions of the LOTR films are great for fans to see as much as possible, they still released the Theatrical versions, the ones that won awards and fans shelled out the dough to see in theaters.

Unconvinced? About what? Right now, no one killed her, except it can be assumed a young jedi named Darth Vader, who was......

Until the television series plot line is announced, it is unclear if Shaak Ti dies or not. Rumors are she survives and is the thorn in Darth Vader's side.

The scene where she is killed by Grievous was shot during principal "photography". It looks like they decided to scrap that scene in favor of the version where Anakin kills her, because there's a part about that in the section about post production. There were images from both scenes in the book.

Was there any mention about Mace giving her instructions before he left? I've heard that originally he gives her a heads up that there may be retaliation for their movement against the Chancellor and that she must prepare herself as their are very few Jedi Knights left in the city.

Well, I would think it would have to have been on The Invisible Hand. From what I understand, she was guarding Palps when he was captured in the Clone Wars, and it would only seem logical that she would attempt the rescue. Others have said that her death was left out because she is to be part of the new hour long television series, but who knows.

As for other games with humorouss, good, and/or complex stories:

Final Fantasy 7
Final Fantasy X
Final Fantasy Tactics Advance
Metroid Fusion
Metroid Prime
Halo Series
Paper Mario 2
Metal Gear Solid series (or so I've heard)
The Legend of Zelda series
KoToR
Jade Empire
Resident Evil 1-3
Resident Evil 4
Golden Sun (And the Lost Age)
Mario and Luigi, Supestar Saga
Freedom Force Series (PC)
Starcraft
Warcraft Series

I'm sure I missed a bunch. Saying there is no story factor in videogames is so ridiculous, especially from the president of the company that published Knights of the Friggin' Old Republic, which has one of the BEST video game plot twists EVER.

If not THE best.

Alot of those games you named are over 5 years old. "Right now there is no story in games." Vice City had a pretty good storyline, but really it was just a rehash of the Scarface and a couple other 80's movies/tv shows. SA isn't very good, plot wise, at all.

Nice job on article, Hardcore.

That is the first time I've seen the talked-about Grievous/Shaakti pic and I have to say it looks like a bad Photoshop job to me. I imagine someone did it as a mock-up after the kick-ass 'Clone Wars' cartoon confrontation between the two.

Couple things, first greencapt, I think I may have stole that image of the script book from you. If you would like me to take it down, I will. Second, that Shaakti pic I believe is pretty legit. I think it's just previsualization stuff.
