As a result, we have our own preconceived notions of how the PT should play out. Since GL's vision is not the same as those notions, we have become disillusioned with the PT. Thus, why it is best to judge the PT on its own merits rather than comparing it with the OT.

Plot holes in the SW saga

heh, funny.
yeah i'd also like to post more, i don't want to be just a stupid padawan (since i don't 'accept' the PT).

to go back to the topic: i think i found some plot holes (maybe they've been mentionned already but i'm too tired to care now...):
in ANH, when C3PO and R2D2 escape in the pods why don't they destroy them? even if there are no lifeforms they could have done it only to make sure. better to fire needlessly than to be exposed to the wrath of the vader in case it was important.

and also, in ESB, the empire saw that the millenium falcon was heading for bespin because they put a tracker on it. but when leia, lando and chewie escape they don't remove it (as far as I know) so the empire should have found them again after a while.

am going to watch ESB and ROTJ back to back with a fellow SW fan on wednesday, maybe i'll find out more then...

yeah kinda. but, you know, as long as you explain sth with tech words and scientific jargon most people will say they understand so as o not appear like stupid dorks. even if what has been explained is total bullshitt
so errmmm, I think that GL didn't consider that but only thought that parsec would sound cool. he couldn't image that SW would develop in such a phenomenon and that gee...eerrmmm...'fans' would go and question every word used in the story. personally I don't care if it really makes sense. if you're ready to accept that there are jedis, wookies, lightsabers, laser pistols, hyperspeed ships etc to do the kessel run in 12 parsecs shouldn't bother one much. and maybe in the SW universe parsec means sth completely different...

Allright, allright. But if you are convinced that there are no plot holes (sorry for using that expression again...) in the holy trilogy and its prequels, why do you keep coming back on a thread that is called PLOT HOLES IN THE SW SAGA?? You can also leave us with our stupid little complaints and spend more time on other threads if you want.

PS: You know, one or two question marks or exclamation marks are enough, you don't need to feel the whole line...

Kill Bill Vol.2 reaction thread (beware of eventual spoilers)
Time
oh thanks. guess i missed that part, makes more sense now.
yeah I agree. I remember after seeing Vol1 I thought that QT was one sick little man and I thought Vol2 would be the same, but it wasn't and it's good that way. in Vol 1 there was enough blood for at least a dozen movies. and also, in Vol2 the bride actually kills only one person, as opposed to the 'roaring rampage of revenge' depicted in part one.
must be cool to see 1 & 2 back to back, will have to try that once.

i just saw it today and my thoughts are the same. All in all I liked it but some scenes just felt too long. And also I had the impression that vol1 was only there to show some kickass action and vol2 to advance the story. If QT had cut some scenes and made others shorter it could have become only one movie. But it was really cool, I liked it.

about the Leia / Padmé thing: when watching the old trilogy I always thought that Padmé had simply married Bail Organa and died when Leia was still very young (5 or 6 years old) this would explain why she can remember her.
and Leia talking about another woman thinking it was her real mother would kinda destroy the magic of that momenet, especially of Luke's expression when he hears that.
