i saw the trilogy in order and at first it ROTJ was my favourite too. but after a while i found that the ending was too cheesy. most of the fault goes with the ewoks but also the "all's well that ends well" thing largely contributes to it, even if i have to admit that i cannot imagine it to be otherwise now, i wouldn't like SW that much if one of the main characters had died at the end. btw ESB rules!!

well, it's understandable, considering my nickname...

and although i really like the character of Han Solo, i'm not that big Harrison Ford fan. he's also really cool as Indiana Jones and in other movies but lately he hasn't done that well imo. and he doesn't age well i think.
i really like the romantic subplot in SW (the scene in ROTJ were Han thinks Leia is in love with Luke and say that he is won't stand in their way is one of my favourites) but there's not much to say about that, i prefer to focus on other aspects of SW.

yeah ferris is cool, i like is "to the camera" comments, and the end when he shooos it away, it's just great

haven't ever seen breakfast club, but i'd really like too. somehow i never manage to catch it when it comes on TV...

does he really have 4 lightsabers? sounds kinda lame imo. it's like in ep1 they thought: what would be cooler than a lightsaber fight? a fight with a double-sided lightsaber!! and how can we top that in ep3: a quadruple lightsaber!! ka-ching ka-ching!
actually, the darth maul fight was great but they should have left it with that.

that would be a cool idea, but only if it doesn't involve the characters from the OT, would be to weird seeing Han, Leia, Luke and Lando interpreted by other people...

btw, i'm also on starwars.com. actually i signed up already back in october but i had forgotten about it. when i read HAL 9000's thread titled "a little help here" (or sth like that...) i also started posting on that forum. my sn there is "the dark lady". chose it back in october and now that i think about it, sounds way much cooler than the one i use here, but well, at least it's clear which one is my fave character... ,)

thanx, feel relieved because i placed a bid on ebay for some bootleg dvds of the original theatrical cuts but i noticed only later that it said they were ntsc. i know that's pretty dumb, should have been more careful.

Were I live the standard is not NTSC but I have some Region 1 (USA) DVDs and they play just fine. Does that mean that my player can handle also NTSC?

and I heard that being a parent was what made GL put the ewoks in ROTJ and JarJar in TPM.
i think that the only solution for directors stopping meddling with their movies and including stupid characters is to make them sterile when they are still young and promising...

I like the "Not to be worn as a protective helmet" line. lol!! just imagine a worker wearing that on the construction site instead of the regular helmet...
and the stormtrooper guy looks kinda pathetic. yes the stormtrooper uniforms are cool, but only in the Star Wars settings. that dude is just standing around in his room, that's pretty dumb.

MP's Life of Brian isn't bad either. You can't beat the "always look at the bright side of life" musical sequence at the end.

and getting back to Mel Brooks: anyone like the "Spaceball" movie? i think it is alright but not that funny...

I read somewhere that Harrison Ford's performance in ROTJ was "phoned-in", but I have absolutely no clue what this expression means, can someone explain it to me please?

i've wanted to know that for a long time but i didn't think that it was enough to start a whole new thread, so i'm sorry if I hijacked this.

the replacement of the guns with walkie-talkies came from Drew Barrymore, i think.

and yeah, Lucas should definitely give those oscars back! and also the money to all the people who bought the 'non-existant' version, bacause according to Georgie they have been erased from existance so all the vhs and laser discs should have mysteriously disintegrated by now...

it's perhaps a little off-topic but:
i don't think that Anakin will know that Padme is pregnant. if he knew he would have made something to get hold of his kids and he would have succeeded being so powerfull.
and, he would have known that Padme got twins.

and i hope that more characters from the OT will appear in Ep 3. a little cameo of Han would be nice....
