i enjoyed space ships surprise. i think that for a mere comedy/parody/spoof it was really well shot and the effects were topnotch. what annoyed me the most is that they did too many gay and c*** jokes. that's a bit overdone and becomes tedious after a while.
another german comic who's hilarious is michael mittermeier, i loved his ads spoofs
i think that the stereotypes of germans being not funny is oh so not true. they have some of the best comedy shows i know. and i watch also french and english tv so i should know.
but i have to say that i agree that conan o'brien is the funniest guy there is.

i can think of only two at the mo:
dogma (i know i know yet another kevin smith flick):
Jay: I feel like I'm Han Solo, and you're Chewie, and she's Ben Kenobi, and we're in that fucked-up bar.
and the other one is from buffy, also from the three nerds:
(when Warren is back as a "ghost" and eggs Andrew on to send Jonathan to open a gate or sth, can't remember...)
Andrew: this boy is our only hope
Warren: no, there is another...
Andrew: Really?
Warren: nah, was only finishing the quote...
they are not the best ever references but they stuck with me somehow
and as anyone seen the "grocery store wars" video on the internet? it's a bit moralistic but a few things are really hilarious. i'll say only two words: ham solo...

well, i guess the iraqis thought the same thing when he was elected in 2000. someone just has to say that your government is hiding bin laden or some other big bad terrorist guy and you're done!

2. nobody really knows what the force can do, that's what makes it so appealing to SW fans and that's also why the midi chlorian explanation is generally disliked (since it lessens that mystery).
it follows that we also don't know what the force can't do, I think that find the base and the stolen data and destroy an entire planet are part of it.
3. thanks for the quote correction DJ but I'm too lazy to go and change it...

Thanks to Jay for putting it in.
That really makes me wonder how GL would like it if Kurosawe had decided 20 years after the release of Hidden Fortress to colorize it because that is how he really wanted it but didn't have the technology to shoot it in color.

you can't compare that. the star trek you like went off air BUT it is available on DVD as it was when you first watched it. The Original Trilogy on the other hand is anihilated, it does not exist anymore, in Lucas' point of view. And that's what upsets most of the posters on this forum.
As Jay said it already, if you are satisfied whit the SSE DVDs, what are you doing here anyway?? Only annoying those who would like to have the 77 - 83 versions on a proper, official, legal DVD? I really do not understand it...

As for myself, when I first heard the rumours about the Anakin gjost thing I said to myself that I would wait a couple of days after the DVDs were out, check on the internet if that was true and it it was I wouldn't buy 'em.
Sadly, that was the case. It's really too bad becuase I really want them to have on DVD (better quality, cool cases, bonus disc...), even if they were SE, but that's too much.
George PLEASE release the OT so that I can give you my money and make you even richer!!!

I hope they won't go with the Harry-becomes-the Goblin storyline. I think that last scene with him in the movie shows that he realizes that his father was the green goblin and that he forgives Spider-Man. I know it's different in the comics but it would be rather boring if they used a Goblin as a villain AGAIN. There are loads of cool villains in the Spider-Man comics so would be stupid to use the some sort twice.

… CGI hadn’t been that fully developed when TPM was made? Do you think it would have turned about better? I think yes because that’s one of the things that makes it so much different from the OT. If GL had had to use puppets like for the OT he would have been more limited and maybe would have focused more on the characters. Or do you think it woyld have been worse? Resulting in an even more annoying Jar JAr maybe?
