I'll leave the Spleen to [chyron]. I'm taking it to the public trackers instead.

While I get the feeling we've generally tried to keep Harmy's DE off of public trackers (like TPB), I also suspect it's inevitable that this will eventually happen. Perhaps it's better to have you, someone following the official forum that we can communicate with, upload it to such places rather than what I'll dub a "rouge fan."

To be honest, I've problem said more on this matter than I should, considering that I'm a relative newcomer (only been around since earlier this year). I'm sure things will work out either way, and I'm just excited to see so much interest surrounding this amazing project!

Thanks again to Harmy & everyone involved in the creation of SW DE v2.5!

Believe me, I'm sure all those waiting for the torrent on MySpleen greatly appreciate your willingness to set that up! It just that a couple days ago, the community here seemed to agree that we would leave the creation of the MySpleen to chryon (relevant forum page).

That said, chryon seemed to indicate that he would be able to make the torrent available very quickly due to a fast internet connection at his office; though perhaps he wasn't at his office today (Sunday)? Or perhaps he actually had to do work there? lol.

If we don't hear from chryon soon, I'd agree that we should appoint the duty to someone else. Both you (Nearsighted Scrappile) and Zer0Squared have volunteered for the job, so just work out between yourselves who should be the "backup" torrent creator. We just want to avoid duplicates being made.

As of this writing, it will be roughly an hour until I can make a torrent for MySpleen. Unless of course somebody beats me to it.

Again, I ask that we patiently wait to hear from chyron, who is the user that uploaded v2.1 on MySpleen and has already volunteered to do so for v2.5.

If we cannot seriously wait another day to download v2.5, why not get it now using the links already provided? Is it really so important that we make v2.5 available as a torrent so quickly?

If we don't hear from chyron by then, I'll just use Harmy's 'readme' as the MySpleen description and seed it myself.

I ask that we be patient and give chyron the time he needs to properly put the torrent on MySpleen. As he said:

chyron8472 said:

I volunteer to put it on Myspleen. I did so for v2.1.

...

Plus, I'm really nitpicky about wanting torrents for the same set to have identical formatting/layouts in their Myspleen descriptions. So if I do it myself, I can ensure that it looks right.

I'd prefer we avoid putting multiple copies of the same file (v2.5 MKV) on MySpleen, and that it'd be best for the same user (chyron) to upload each "official" torrent. It just looks better that way. Even if it takes chyron a few more hours, it's worth the wait, isn't it?

Let's do this right.

Are you talking about JDownloader links, torrent links, or what? I thought such links were verboten to post publicly? Or, is the newsletter considered private?

My guess is he means he'll give the link for the torrent page on MySpleen. Kinda like the current link for the v2.1 torrent page on MySpleen is: myspleen.org

You still need a MySpleen account to access that page, though.

Also, perhaps he'll link to the forum page on tehPARADOX, where people can create an account & log in to view the download links on uloz.

Yes! From earlier today:

And I already have all the sound files, so you can expect a release today, but later.

Anyone have a rough idea when this will be out in USA Eastern time?

Harmy's time is Prague

http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/

So, since Harmy said earlier that he may be uploading it "overnight" on Sunday, and it's almost 9:00pm (21:00) for him now, perhaps within the next twelve hours is a reasonable estimate. That's my guess, anyway!

I decided to leave the bonus material for a separate bonus disc, which will enable me to put more lossless audio on the BD and give the bonus material much more space to breathe.

Sounds good to me!

So much activity around here the last few days... very exciting! I'll be ready to help seed the MKV through MySpleen once it's up!

Hello my friends,

Thanks to the Despecialized project, we are be able to return to that far, far away galaxy we knew a long time ago.

While it's not the focus of this project, I'm sure we're all united as Star Wars fans in the hopes that the next generation of Star Wars films being produced will return to the classic style of the Original Trilogy rather than the... other ones.

Much like the original intention OriginalTrilogy.com, a new website has been set up indenting to deliver a message/petition to JJ Abrams, the director of the next Star Wars film.

Check out the site below, sign the petition, and watch the awesome video!

http://www.DearJJAbrams.com

Sorry to interrupt. Please carry on with this highly focused and always on-topic thread discussion.

Dude! That looks awesome! Seriously, that's a very impressive newsletter that's both comprehensive and succinct in covering all that's happened in the past month in relation to Harmy's Despecialized Editions of Star Wars. I especially like how there are plenty of links leading directly to whatever interesting news you mentioned.

And on that note...

Harmy's DeSpecialized Newsletter Edition said:

'handuet' has listed all of the updated subs for the Sources Documentary and work continues by many to make sure all languages are being translated properly.

Woot! I'm famous!

Haha, seriously though, I'm glad I've been able to contribute even a small part to this amazing project. I've barely been active here for even a few months, so thanks to everyone for all the work that's been done and for the continued community effort to restore Star Wars to the galaxy!

All stories & updates are Harmy-approved and are basically just re-caps and highlights of what's happening in the forum threads, including new release announcements such as the new TESB:DE v2.0 Reel 1 Workprint that was just posted on Harmy's birthday.

Awesome. Looking forward to it, 0^2!

About once per week, visit this link:

http://originaltrilogy.com/forum/topic.cfm/Harmys-STAR-WARS-Despecialized-Edition-HD-REMASTERED-v21-AVCHD-is-now-out/topic/12713/

...

But, in all fairness, wouldn't that address change when the version updates?

It doesn't matter. Even when the address changes, OriginalTrilogy.com and similar forums will automatically re-route users who visit the old link to the new destination.

For example, when I first bookmarked this forum thread, its address was:

http://originaltrilogy.com/forum/topic.cfm/Harmys-STAR-WARS-Despecialized-Edition-HD-REMASTERED-is-now-released/topic/12713/

But now, even if you use the above "old" address (try it), you'll be taken to the current destination of:

http://originaltrilogy.com/forum/topic.cfm/Harmys-STAR-WARS-Despecialized-Edition-HD-REMASTERED-v21-AVCHD-is-now-out/topic/12713/

Thus, using old links is no problem. :)

Could I maybe just get a link to the Polish .srt subtitles?

If you ever want to download any of the .srt subtitles for your documentary, just find one of my posts and click the "Sources Documentary - Current .srt Subtitle List" link in my signature to find direct download links for all available languages!

Let me know if I can do anything to help!

yes please :)

Sure thing! Here's how to receive your personal notification in less than 5 seconds:

About once per week, visit this link:

http://originaltrilogy.com/forum/topic.cfm/Harmys-STAR-WARS-Despecialized-Edition-HD-REMASTERED-v21-AVCHD-is-now-out/topic/12713/

If the text at the beginning of the post that currently reads:

STAR WARS DESPECIALIZED EDITION REMASTERED v2.1 AVCHD is now out!!!

has changed to say something like:

STAR WARS DESPECIALIZED EDITION REMASTERED v2.5 AVCHD is now out!!!

then you have successfully received your notification of the release of Star Wars: DE v2.5 and can proceed to obtain it using the methods outlined in the same first post of this thread.

Thanks for your interest in the project! Like you, we're all looking forward to the release of v2.5 and additional future updates!

Polish subtitles updated by Feallan, correcting small errors and making improvements. File name now includes (UTF-8) indicator to indicate correct text encoding.

File names of German subtitles changed to use same format to indicate text encoding, i.e., (UTF-8) or (ANSI). No changes made to actual content of the .srt file.

File name of Spanish subtitles changed to indicate the translation uses European-style (Spain) Spanish rather than American-style (Mexico) Spanish*. No changes made to actual content of the .srt file.

*In other words, a separate translation for American Spanish speakers would be welcome.

What may help is to put a utf-8 byte order mark (the three bytes EF BB BF) at the beginning of the file?

I didn't add that to the "official" version above, but here's an "experimental" version that does as you suggested: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/108143349/Sources-Doc_Polish_edit2_(UTF-8)_EXP.srt

Feel free to tell me if I did it right and/or if it works better such that we should incorporate this UTF-8 BOM at the beginning of relevant subtitle files.

Is this something that needs to be fixed with the .srt subtitle file itself? It looks like it's encoded as UTF-8, but please let me know if something needs to be fixed. A_New_Hope has decided to not continue updating his muxed MKV of the Sources Doc with the subtitles, but in case people want to do it on their own, I want the .srt file we've provided for download to be correct.

@Laserschwert: New and improved translations are always welcome. Sorry I wasn't able to check the quality of subtitles in languages for which I'm not fluent.

@deho: If you and/or Laserschwert decide to create new German subtitles, just let me know by PM. Don't worry. that doesn't mean the current version will go to waste; it means that German speakers had access to a workable (although imperfect) translation until an improved version was completed.

@A_New_Hope: I agree with you. The subtitles are frequently updating, so we should wait until we're confident in having the "final version" of all translations until muxing them together the video.

Keep those updates coming!

I arrived at the following neat, tidy, labeled bundle which incorporates ALL of HanDuet's August 10, 2013 updated subs ... here are a few links for Harmy's "Sources" Documentary at FULL RESOLUTION with the above muxed subtitles

Thanks for your hard work! I must say, I was almost disappointed to have someone contact me with corrections to some of the subtitles after seeing all you went through the bundle all the previous version together, but that's just the way things go. It's up to you if you want to create a new version of your bundle with the new German subtitles, but we may want to wait a little while to see if additional changes will be made. Either way, I just wanted you to know that I appreciate your contribution!

Actually, there is at least one thing you (or anyone else here) could do right now to help with the Sources Doc subtitles. When deho sent me the updated German subtitles, he also mentioned the following:

deho said:

By the way, I've muxed [the subtitles] with mkvmerge and the resulting mkv played just fine and the subtitles were ok. Then I tried to mux it with tsmuxer, to create a Blu-ray folder structure, but vlc wouldn't display the subtitles correctly, no matter which edit I use. Are you aware of this problem?

Is that an issue someone here could look into? Thanks everyone!
