Deepfake live action actors onto the CGI shows’ characters’ faces.
Deepfake live action actors onto the CGI shows’ characters’ faces.
lol, very nice. Was that a DHMIS reference?
I could imagine someone emulating TLJ’s opening shot in this video. Pan down to the bombing fleet in formation ready to go.
I wonder if a slight pause could help a little. Either “Leia told me that she had sense the end-- of her Jedi path” or “Leia told me that she had sensed-- the end of her Jedi path.”
It sounds like Luke is ramping up to emphasize part of the sentence and never does, with his tone changing in a way that doesn’t seem intuitive.
Sentence mixing it in my head, it doesn’t seem like it’d sound natural. There ought to be emphasis somewhere in the sentence, like “Leia told me she sensed the end of her Jedi path.”
I think jonh has not been seen since presenting that clip, but had said he’ll provide the footage at some point. Should be easy to slot in once he does.
I still don’t have strong feelings about the “death of her son,” though I feel that truncating it to merely “sensed the end of her Jedi path” isn’t something I want to do. I’m probably going to leave it as is.
Well, since my and poppasketti’s edits of TLJ remove the detail that Rey’s parents are dead and buried, this sequence now carries the implication that Rey is learning about or uncovering knowledge that they were, in fact, dead.
Could R2 speak in gameboy Pokémon cries?
This joke might not land, but maybe instead of Leia R2 projects a Hypno. Y’know, to ‘make Luke change his mind’? (Or Drowsee from that episode of the anime where he’s hooked up to a broadcast thing.)
I presume the bombs at the start of the movie could be voltorbs or electrodes?
Jesus. Can’t wait to get really drunk or high and watch this.
Snorlax blocking the path is a better use for him.
Idk what fever dream brought this idea on. And I don’t know much beyond gen 2, personally. Pikachu doesn’t just use a thunderstone anymore, eh?
Just saw that report myself. If true, congratulation, man! That’s incredible. Can’t wait to see “Shamook” in the end credits of upcoming SW.
JEDIT: And if he really does work on something, I’m sure people will want to playfully replace his real name with Shamook in the credits of the fan edited version.
Snoke could be Mewtwo.
Perhaps the world’s largest Snorlax could be in the background (or foreground) of a particular location, perhaps Snoke’s throne room.
I feel like Luke should have a raggedy old Pikachu. And maybe, idk, when Luke dies maybe it evolves into Raichu.
Rey should see a Ditto in the Force mirror.
I’m gonna reign this in, if that’s all right, since it won’t really play into things until we get to Rey Nobody, and that thread will be better. That’s not a knock; I want it to happen, just there.
My idea about the line sort of amounts to sterilizing the injection needle for execution.
These larger scale approaches are better saved for the Rey Nobody edit.
I think I’d prefer the default version of this project not to venture down the path of making her parents back into shitheads, but I see your point.
We’d kicked around modifying TLJ but I really don’t want to.
The retcon of her parents being Palpatine flavored is one thing, but we’re trying to make it fit in better by reducing the double repression.
“You were right, they were no one… I’ll tell you what happened to them and why.” (No direct mention of selling her to protect her, so there’s not the implication she’s repressing something further about that.)
The only line remaining that muddies that slightly modified angle is “You remember more than you say.” It implies she’s keeping something down, and it isn’t clear what it might be.
In TFA and TLJ Rey believes her parents were ‘noble’ and loved her, then “admits” they were deadbeats and feels some consolation in the confession that she shouldn’t keep looking for them and move on. Then when their memory is tapped into in TROS she gets angry and tries to fight away the pain, recalling that yes indeed they loved her very much and all.
Han’s dice have spirit whispers associated with them anytime they appear. When they vanish at the end of TLJ, they scream in anguish.
Probably right, then. Still, I feel good about getting rid of at least “I never lied to you” because it comes across as “I saw TLJ but only once and I don’t really remember the whole thing.”
Yeah, but I would like to have the retconning of TLJ be surgical, if possible.
If the line is out there, I really like the sound of “You don’t need to say anything. I’ve been in your head.”
My overly-intense look at the line suggests it could be read as “Ah, but all along, including the dramatic moment in TLJ, you were double-repressing your memories.”
Poppasketti:
You were right when you broke down and confessed that your parents were no one, admitting the truth. However, they appeared that way by their choice. I know what happened to them."
Jar Jar Bricks:
“I see your parents. They match your true confession as nobodies, but only because they chose to appear that way. I know what happened to them.”
I do wonder if the line “You remember more than you say” also poses a problem. Kylo goes on to reveal the circumstances of their death, which isn’t something Rey could have known beforehand. This line seems to undermine the sincere confession about her own parents in TLJ. I feel it is important to maintain, even retroactively, that film’s moment of Rey admitting the truth to herself. Not admitting partially but still blocking out a deeper, contradictory truth. Rey can learn her parents were connected to Palpatine in TROS, and that doesn’t have to infringe on her sincerity in TLJ.
Wonder if merely “I’ve been inside your head” could carry the moment or if any lego dialogue could be slotted in. Not sure what he’d ideally say instead, though.
I don’t think it was meant as a threat. There’s plenty of other reasons to tire of Testing.
It’s really a pretty good line to use. I really like what poppasketti did, too, though! I’ll sleep on the degree to which one of those two lines over the other does a better surgical retcon of TLJ, I suppose. Always good to have options. I don’t recall seeing that before, but I’m sure I must’ve.
Or what? He was saying he was feeling driven away due to the drama.
The brutal truth here is that I probably couldn’t bear to watch TROS a single more time
let alone how much I’d have to see it to fanedit the damn thing.

Again, THANK YOU for taking time to compose such juicy feedback. And yeah, I kind of consider TLJ:L “Diet Poppasketti.”
