The explosion of the planet seems to shift to the right mysteriously. Like part of it exploded to the right and then that part becomes the focus. I don’t know if that makes sense.
I think I favor Dat_SW_Guy’s version at the moment. This version of the explosion reads as Alderaan dissolving into an explosion already in progress while Dat’s looks more like the object itself is beginning to explode (albeit very quickly, as in the original film).
If MR gets them to where he’s happy with them and gets me the clips, but he’s technologically out of commission right now. If he can’t though, it’s something I’m considering “welcome but not necessary.”
I can’t tell anything wrong with it.
Looks good from what I can tell from a still image. Although there isn’t a lot of motion to worry about, so I’m sure it looks equally good in motion.
As the death star prepares to fire on Alderaan, edit in real world footage of violent atrocities being committed on the planet’s surface in order to make it more understandable that the empire would want to destroy them.
I would not want to change the title. I think all three titles for the sequel trilogy fit their respective films pretty well. With the prequel‘s, this was much less the case, and I inherited a tradition of people retitling the movies left and right.
I would prefer to avoid bringing Leia‘s knowledge into things. This way it can still comport with future expanded universe stuff, and avoid the issue altogether.
I know for certain I’d love to have that Alderaan explosion, but I’ll wait until you finish your project. Shaping up to have a ton of cool stuff.
The carbon freezing chamber score dropping out at that moment seems to be a deliberate creative decision, and I think I prefer it the way it is in the movie. Although, I can’t say I was aware of that before today!
I think generally when they decide to leave out score in the final mix, I agree with them. But thank you for compiling these!
Works pretty well, though!
I did try to replace Burning Homestead but just couldn’t make it work. It sounds like it would be easy, but the sync is off and I can’t replace the saber foley with the same specific sounds, which I’d want to do.
I don’t really feel that adding musical score where there wasn’t any would help the film feel calmer, so I don’t gravitate toward doing that. And extracting dialogue to the resistance takeoff in order to use a different recording of the same piece would seem to do more harm than it’d be worth.
And I am open to ideas or mock-ups based on Sherlock’s compilation. I might be able to play around with it some, but we’ll see; I don’t have much free time and energy at the same time right now.
I don’t think I’d use most of those, to be honest. Although, the lossless audio output makes it possible for the intrepid person to edit anything into them.
But, I’ll go over that list later on and at least consider them, especially those that patch up gaps in the film’s score.
Hadn’t heard about that before. If you have a list of things like that you’re thinking of, I can certainly give it consideration.
I’ll try to take a look tonight, and thank you!
I love how direct and sharp this thread is.
For no goddamn reason at all, replace Han’s line, “What’d you do?” in TFA with the same line delivered the same way from about 1:57:40 into Blade Runner 2049.
Sure it would. But we’ll have to see. The ingredients will be there when they will, and I’ll put it together. It’s all bound up and set at this point.
I really don’t, either. If Nev is all right with applying his nighttime effect to that clip I could go ahead and implement it. And remain open to new footage to come from jonh at a potential future point.

The haircut exists, but there are ‘glitches’ he said he would fix. I think it could be tackled by someone else to fix it up, but I don’t remember if we have all the footage.
Well put.
Let’s curb this topic here; it’s really not relevant.
It looks pretty good to me, feels very Star Wars. I do see what you mean, with the initial explosion looking weird somehow.
