Layer the SE over the OOT so the Sarlacc has a ghostly beak.
From the moment he is activated by BB-8, D-O just won’t shut up about 9/11 conspiracy theories.

Having gotten to sit down and look at it properly, wow! It’s dramatically better than the source material. The amount of noise removed is stellar, and entirely appropriate for this sort of movie. The animation is very clean and you can see the pencil lines as such rather than aliasing artifacts. I’d totally believe that this was an official HD release that used the same old master.
There’s still film specks and dirt and things like that, and I don’t know if an automated removal of such things would work well or not.
This is a wonderful release, and something I’ll be glad to have stored on my hard drive, as a big piece of my childhood. When I look over the movie with the question of its original aspect ratio in mind and aware that it had a widescreen form, I can’t help but wonder if it was done with an open matte. That’d be relieving to know.
Big thanks, Octorox.
Just took a glance and it does look wonderful. Very clean image, much more pleasant to watch.
Who cares what Anthony Daniels thinks?
Anyway, if anyone were crazy enough to actually make his arm red in TLJ I’d use it too.
I’ll get some popcorn ready, and treat the microwave kindly.
Looks good from what a still can tell! I’ll look forward to more.
i recall someone being able to create dutch subs for the edit. does anybody know his name? Would like to contact this person. thx
Those are baked right into the final product for V2, and were done by “nevertellmetheodds,” as listed in the OP.
Let’s go! Would love to see this.
This still going on?
EDIT: I went looking for this film in this section of the forum, and didn’t see Octorox’ recent post. Sounds like we’re in good hands.
Sending.
Yeah, that’s a good point, since in Starlight that isn’t a reused shot. Man, Nev tied a Gordian knot with this project.
I like that one too. In the PTKFGS universe.
Include tear-jerking flashbacks of baby Greedo being hit in the face by Anakin. A victim of the Sith his whole life.
My biggest question is whether I’ll ever be able to come across the title ‘Starlight’ without mentally pronouncing it the way they do here:

Have TLJ head into the closing credits using the same music as TFA and TROS.
Here’s my revision of the SKB firing sequence. I plan at some point to get from Nev a version of the shot of Leia without the extra casually walking by, as the one in Starlight has also been slowed.

It was all a joke. I don’t plan on adding any more TROS peeks into the vision. Palpatine’s ROTJ line is plenty.
They are, at least at present, unchanged from the 19SE version aside from color correction from ohteedee.
Luke says, “You are a Palpatine.” Kylo Ren echoes this. Palpatine laughs and says, “My grandchild!”
I found the sound effect of that train when it first appears absolutely hilarious. It wasn’t the traditional krayt dragon sound (as heard in the '77/'97 versions of ANH or The Mandalorian), but rather the “krayt dragon” call from Ben Kenobi as heard in the 2011 BluRay. That absolutely ridiculous fucking sound, like someone doing a Michael Jackson impression in the restroom three stalls down.
I take this as a retcon. The OOT version of Ben’s call is indeed a krayt dragon, and the 2011/2019 version is this train.
That etching is really cool, but I don’t wish to strip it and use it myself, as it isn’t totally necessary.
And yeah… I gotta admit the dice scene is just this side of totally working, and I would like to avoid this feeling like a fan edit, even though that dice scene is hella cool.
Hehehe, that would be a good one.
I don’t really feel a need to use the falcon deleted scene, even though it’s effective in Starlight. It feels kind of superfluous to me.
I will attempt to make that shot of Kylo less red, and if I can’t I won’t use that little snippet.
I convinced myself of the added sound effect for the Star Destroyer while typing this. lol
The panel on the falcon lighting up is so subtle, that I don’t really feel the need to use it. To me, the falcon going to lightspeed is enough, as it is enough for Han to find and he references this later… in a line that has been cut. Hmm, okay, yeah, that does make sense now. I’ll use it.
And the dice scene is something cool, but I can’t tell if it’s just me that finds it just slightly weird. I plan to use it but I’m on the fence.
