The Last Jedi: Legendary (Released)
Time

Wow, what a discussion! My intent with potentially changing that line was to “correct” an apparent implied story idea that appears to have been rejected by canon as things bore out following TLJ’s release. Not to flatten the story or make Ben seem worse. (Which is worse, slaughtering eight people and leading three to join Hitler’s SS or slaughtering eleven people?)

Also, consider the dramatic pause in the original versus this version:

“When I came to, the temple was burning. He’d vanished with a handful of my students…”

“Were the others okay?”

“… and slaughtered the rest.”

“No!”

Vs

“When I came to, the temple was burning. He’d vanished…”

“Was everyone okay?”

“…and slaughtered my students.”

“No!”

Also, how would people feel about clipping Poe and Rey “meeting” at the end? I imagine people won’t like the idea, but wanted to see, because they are a couple feet apart for a whole scene in TFA. When I see that moment it makes me think, “The movie is making a point that they have not met before” more than “Oh I bet this goes somewhere.” If anything, their friendship I feel is better served to not highlight that it started right when we would have last seen them by the time of TROS.

Here’s an idea for a potential tweak.

It seems like the official canon has retconned a line from TLJ that implied something they wanted to nix. This proposed alteration brings TLJ in line with the canon story about what happened, and removes the red herring. It is the scene in which Luke first tells Rey about the night of the Jedi Temple massacre.

Original line: “When I came to, the temple was burning. He’d vanished with a handful of my students… and slaughtered the rest.”

New line: “When I came to, the temple was burning. He’d vanished… and slaughtered my students.”

Here’s the clip, though in audio only. I didn’t want to re-rip the video stream just to test out this idea:

I’m saddened to hear this. oojason has been here forever and a day, and always been a staple of positivity.

I don’t know what drama went on, and I don’t need to. But I will miss you, old timer. If you do come to find your way back I’ll be glad, but I wish you the best.

If you were gonna replace one line from a stormtrooper somewhere in the OT with something from Temeura Morrison, what would it be and what would be the source for the line?

Perhaps “there’s no one here” as they conclude searching the Falcon. I’m sure there’d at least be a rough equivalent to that line available.

The ‘Custom Special Edition’ That Almost Wasn’t, But Then Was (Released)
Time

Here’s a folder of Boba Fett’s four lines in ESB with work done to partially replace these with things from Battlefront II. This is finished work, with foley and everything mixed in ready to go. I put them in here as stereo, but please listen with your best headphone and try to be super discerning. I just need to know whether these work, considering whether they do as a whole.

“As you wish” could be included safely even if the others aren’t. I don’t dig having to modify the lines, though these are close paraphrases.
“He’s not worth anything to me dead” is sentence mixed.
“He’s worth a fortune to me” is lightly sentence mixed, but my bigger concern is that it may not match up with the first half of the line (“What if he doesn’t survive?”). I tried to pitch adjust, but it wasn’t working with either because it either introduces artifacts or the music is affect in a jarring way.
I included “Put Captain Solo in the cargo hold” for reference, since it can’t be modified.

So again, we gotta be honest with ourselves. Is the sum of this presentable to millions worldwide in 1997 cinema DTS?
