Replace every instance of the Wilhelm scream with the one Ben Burtt does when he’s knocked into the shield generator in ROTJ.
Cool! Two moments I like: Ben and Bail’s connection and Ben having a dismissive attitude toward droids. Lol
Sounds good! Couple questions that get into minutia.
Since you removed Ben digging up the sabers, so we still get Reva saying that the reason she thinks he’ll come to rescue Leia is because he fought under Bail during the Clone Wars?
How do you handle Lola? Do we see her get broken, Leia demonstrates emotion toward her in the alleyway (and Ben softens his attitude toward her), and Ben fixes her?
When I looked at the subtitles for what Octorox did, which were simple remuxed DVD subtitles, the moment when Kirby charges over the waterfall wasn’t timed well. It comes onscreen before we hear his cry, and it is unfortunate.
I almost deleted this because it’s so petty, but figured you may want to look at the subtitles and see if that moment in particular could be timed to perfection.
I have alien dialogue hard coded in, so I moved those to be above them. I don’t want to sacrifice the burned in subs that I worked to make perfect, or introduce a potential hurdle for viewers to have trouble getting to work.
Turns out this is only possible for mkv files and not mp4s, so this will only apply to the maximum sized releases.

Here’s how they’ll look for the prequels. There’s a different style for ANH and ROTJ. I’ll use these for the OT and ST, so they’ll look and feel extremely close to the familiar burned-in alien subtitles from the OT.

Can’t until tomorrow, but I will!
If you have them as .srt files I’d be happy to take them and give them this treatment to include.
What’s the Twitter handle?
And this is great to hear!
I want to invite anyone who wants… to adapt subtitles for any of my projects (prequels, originals, sequels, and Rogue One) into other languages. Right now most of them aside from Ascendant have just English, French, and Spanish. I can adjust sync, but without speaking the language it’s rather difficult to reliably get new languages onboard.
Why, you ask?
Because schorman13 kindly showed me how to create gorgeous PGS subtitles that closely mimic the format of the burned-in alien subtitles. It makes for a much more pleasant viewing experience if you use subtitles. I’m enamored with them and want to add them to my current projects.
The .sup format they use, however, can’t be added to the player (at least not VLC) and need to be muxed into the file itself. So, whatever interest anyone may have in adding a language to any of these, it’s better to do it now.
Feel free to respond here or PM me if you’re interested in doing so. Don’t wait until finished, as I’d like to be aware so I can wait if need be. I’ll post this in both TROS and COD’s threads.

Watched the first half and enjoyed it greatly. I’m impressed how integrated TBOBF feels so far into the Mandalorian series. All of these have felt like real Star Wars movies.
That looks really good!
“easily watchable as a non-stop movie”
You think 3.85 hours is “easily watchable as a non-stop movie”? Seriously? Wow.
That’s some encouraging news from the most encouraging place possible. Can’t stress how cool it is to have the director of the movie himself consult on this.
Wonderful stuff. I’ll take as much of this as you care to dole out!
Perhaps the most radical redux is to admit that you never wanted them fixed in the first place
Sending a PM!
Like everything you’ve done that I can recall, it looks very natural and authentic.
EDIT: Is it just the color-corrected or adjusted original?
Based on ProRes output from my work, I believe, so it should be darn near identical picture. 😉
I hope if these ever get a physical release this can be recreated and could possibly allow for more wiggle room with things like that.
