I'd be interested in taking a look at anyone's efforts in this feild.
Granted, it will not look perfect. But I'd rather have original footage in lower quality where it's needed than crap footage in high quality.
I think the outstanding picture quality for the *majority* of the film would be worth it.
And even if it's not all that worth it, I'll still have my TR47s around.
PM me if you want.
EDIT:
Oh and yes, please use this principle when editing: Precisely my idea as well, to use the 2004 version where possible, fall back on the 1997 version and use the 1993/1995 version only where necessary.
I can already tell this movie is NOT going to be good.
The thign that was good about HHGTTG was the brilliant writing. It was so hilariouslly written that you couldn't help but laugh at everything in it. You simply cannot transcribe it into a movie form.
I guess the deciding factor of whether I'll actually *see* it of not if the accents. If they don't have British accents, then I shalln't see it.
Hey if MagnoliaFan is still planning on doing an OT restoration of taking the DVDs and DE-SEing them, why not have the Pre-ANH be a part of that? Just a suggestion.
Hey Magfan, would you say it'd be wise to plan on buying (from Rikter or who-ever) Dual-layered versions of BOTF and the then-updated TCW along with your EPIII edit when it comes time to purchase it in 2005-6 ish?
And Disney?!?!?!?!!?!? AAAAAAAHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!! Don't see this movie, the books are so well-written! It's the hilarious writing that made it funny. A movie would SUCK!
Is it just me, or are the transfers of BOTF and TCW that Rikter is distributing have the brightness a bit high? I find myself darkening the picture when I watch them. Not trying to complain, just wondering.
Could someone please help me with a dilema I'm having with making MagnoliaFan covers?
I'm more or less finished with the covers (which are really nothing more than cannabilizing other covers into one custom and adding a few things), but I have a problem. I do not know how to use Photoshop. I've done all this on MS Paint.
Here they are:
Now as you can see, the front cover has a big problem. Under the logos, the added titles "Balance of the Force" and "The Clone War" look like crap. That's because I am using a crappy program and can't do any better.
Can somebody with Photoshop touch up that little area of the covers and email it back to me? My email is kmshelton@earthlink.net
Thanks so much in advance. Sorry to ask such a thing, but I *am* only 14 and have no clue about photo editing.
But with top-notch video editors on our hands at these forums, certainly we can get special work done to include what is deemed the best for an ultimate DVD collection eventually.
Patience. Don't cave into the official DVDs. Hold out for a DVD from here.
