Hopefully the EpIII edit will not be very drastic at all. And judging from the teaser trailer, it might not have to be.
Obviously, Episode I had more of what I'd consider to be a full overhaul. Many things were drastically changed about it.
Episode II also had major things and aspects changed, but not nearly as drastically.
My *hope* for Episode III is that only a few trivial tweaks, cuts and smoothings are made. Because it looks like it will be awesome enough already. Ideally, the only alterations would be things such as Jar Jar and Dooku's saber to ensure continuity. Oh and about preserving the ESB surprise... I'm all for it BUT not if it involves a super-huge altering of the ending. I mean, that would be great to have ESB remain a secret, but it doesn't really seem like that will be possible.
The second we get a title confirmed from the master editor himself, MagnoliaFan, I'll get right to work on covers.
What a relief to know that John Kerry AND John Edwards will never have power as president and vice-president. I shudder to think what could have happened as a result of their arrogance and stupidity.
Wouldn't it be cool if Episode III required next to no editing done except for continuity things like Jar Jar, Neimodians, Dooku's saber, etc. for MagnoliaFan's edit? Just a thought.
Hopefully the plot won't be changed a whole lot. I know he's trying to keep the "father" line in ESB a surprise, so hopefully EpIII will allow him to do that without having to drastically change the ending.
So... does anybody including MagnoliaFan himself know anything about the EpIII edit? And/or what it's going to be called?
Any idea of what kind of edits may happen? This is probably way to soon to be thinking about it, but just wondering. After all... this will be my *definitive* version the final installment of the Star Wars prequel backstory.
I was just at Best Buy, and saw the DVDs on the stand.
ANd boy, I was tempted. I saw them beign played on their big screen TV and just..... stared. I stared at the incredible picture! Fabulous! I picked up the set. I set it back down. I picked it back up, I set it back down. I picked it back up, carried it around a bit, then put it back down.
I swear if it wasn't for me SHEER LACK of fifty dollars... I might have caved in. But remembering that GOD AWFUL GHOST DECAPITATION, I am so glad I didn't.
Besides, are Rikter and MebeJedi and MagnoliaFan not planning on an edited version of the DVDs with no changes? I say wait for this.
Surely *that* would be worthy of causign me to shit my pants.
I really, erm... don't like this poster. Does anyone have a link to the other prequel teaser posters for comparison? I mean, wow... this sucks. Even a lot of Lucas-loving fans say this.

I agree, 100%.
Even so... there would have to be minimal editing of Jar Jar (who is sure to have at least a FEW lines), Neimondians, etc. to ensure continuity with the previous edits no?
That would be tubular if that was all that needed to be done.
But let's think about it, it isn't going to be as good as we'd hope. It will require *some* tinkering to be made better. And I'm glad we have none other than our very own MagnoliaFan on the job when the DVDs come out.
***MY*** Star Wars Saga will be perfect:
Balance of the Force The Clone War (Whatever he titles EpIII... Birth of the Empire?) A New Hope (ORIGINAL 1977 VERSION) The Empire Strikes Back (ORIGINAL 1980 VERSION) Return of the Jedi (ORIGINAL 1983 VERSION)
It will be perfect, I tell you. PERFECT! Hehe. I know MagnoliaFan also has planned some editing to do with the OT as well, but I say no thank you. No thank you. It does sound intriguing, but not for my definitive Star Wars. The way I see it... the OT is the story and the prequels are simply backstory to it. All I really wanted done was to have the backstory made bearable.
Good luck with your editing, and everything. MTFBWY
I am so glad that Bush is probably going to win. Voting for Kerry is just.... incomprehensible. They guy has about as much foundation as a snowman. He is going to MELT in the polls.
Maybe they should erase all reference and documentation of said award shortly after he recieves it. "Oh, sorry Mr. Lucas. We always intended on Mickey Mouse revieving the award but couldn't because of budget constraints."
I mean, is that not relatively the same thing he's doing to us?
