The Gungans and Neimondians have been dubbed and subtitled.
It seems that their new dialect consists of a garbled, forward and backwards, mesh of the Spanish audio. And don't get me wrong, I think it works fine.
BUT I think it might be better to use this method for one alien species, and to find another way to make a different-sounding language for the other species.
Now don't stone me yet, just listen.
I don't know how many of you have seen the "Phantom Re-Edit" that MagnoliaFan himself has restored to somewhat DVD quality. But the way they seem to have done it is to 'mask' the English audio and modify the pitch and things to make it inaudible.
Now here's just my *humble* idea for possibly the MagnoliaFan 2.0 versions of whatever may happen.... I think the Neiomodians (I know It's spelled wrong) should keep their dialect as is. (By that I mean the garbled Spanish) And I think, to better distinguish the languages, have Jar Jar and the Gungans speak a language similar to the one in the 'Phantom Re-Edit'. (But perhaps using Spanish as the base, rather than English)
Because the way it is now, it seems like every alien speaks the same language. It'd make BOTF (and TCW) seem more like a professionally made film. That's just what I think.
You do realize, Cowclops, that the set at starwarslegacy.com will never see the light of day since he is making it solely for himself right?
I would officially shit my pants if I were to learn that a skilled video editor was working on a similar "edit" that would make it's way into distribution. If the reason you decided against it was that it was already being done, I still say go for it. Somebody make one that we can all have.
Hearing people say how much the LD is behind the DVD in quality sure is depressing.
I still think it might be a good idea to try tampering with De-SEizing the '97 SE. The quality is like night and day between the original, yet not so far ahead that it's impossible to interlace them.
Thanks for the tip, that's probably what the trouble is.
I'm using Windows XP, by the way. Thanks for the offer, I'll see if I can't get it to download though.
Can anybody else comment on the quality? Is it about the same as the other MagnoliaFan stuff? And is this a digital re-working of the phantom edit that's been on myspleen for a while, or a different one?
I'm so glad that those of us on the internet who use torrents and Ebay can find the ORIGINAL Star Wars Trilogy, rather than be subjected to this imposter DVD set disguised as the Star Wars Trilogy.
I thought it might have been from the podracer game but that would've left bad audio quality probably. Indeed, the podrace sequence is much better with a consistant musical score. VERY nice work.
MagnoliaFan, would it be allright with you if I try to upload a full DVD folder file of BOTF and TCW? I wanna make sure you're fine with it before I go ahead and do.
