But am very excited it's finally being recognized, and put on DVD.
And I will continue to support letter-writers, and educating the public about it.

I'll buy them, but not without mumbling and grumbling to myself.
OOT on DVD, finally!

Coruscant for ROTJ might be interesting, if it could be done without seeming to much like an obvious fan edit. Of course, this would help the ending if you are leaving in the planets montage.
But how would you explain Luke watching the space battle, and the Emperor in command of the Death Star? I don't want to be a wet blanket, but I don't know if it'd go smoothly.

However, I am trying (along with all of you here) to contact them about it and try to get them to make it at least anamorphic.
In the end, I still plan to buy them.
It's the OOT on DVD.
(Correct me if I'm wrong, but can a widescreen TV zoom in enough so there's no black bars on the sides? Or only to a point?)

It started with the Special Edition re-release. Loved them, rented them over and over, and loved watching the prequels unfold. (I was very little when the SE came out, about 7. And when episode I came out, I was 9. I loved them both a lot.)
My elementary teacher had to tell me to stop talking about Star Wars because I never got any work done.
Episode II was all right, but I didn't like it as much because it simply did NOT have rewatchability.
And Episode III came out recently, which I loved.
And I edited the prequels to my personal liking, and I'm proud to have them on my shelf. I've always been an OOT person ever since I rented them to compare them to my SE set. No contest.
And here I am. Consider the torch passed.

I disagree with him heavily about the OOT and other things, but personally insulting him won't do any good and makes us look bad.

They made absolutley sure that NO alterations were made, and that the flims were exactly as seen in theatres in 1985, '89, and '90. (With one exception in Part II: the Part III trailer is still present, however the "Coming summer 1990" is gone.)
There was a quote on the commentary where Gale, when asked, said that he didn't understand directors going back and changing their flims. He said if they did that to BTTF, "That's not Back to the Future!" So things they very well could have gone back and fixed (like wires holding actors and stuff) were left alone for the sake of presenting them exactly the way they originally were.
The "To Be Continued ---->" title card at the end of the first Back to the Future was added for the home video release, because they didn't intend on making a sequel when they released it in theatres. So the DVD does not have this title card.
The end of Back to the Future II even has the teaser trailer for Part III as shown in theatres, even though I personally wouldn't mind it if they would have removed it. Kind of ruins it for a first-time watcher of the DVD set. (No problem, I just made my own DVDr with the trailer snipped out.)
I respect them a lot, and it's a sharp contrast to George Lucas.

The opposite of love is not hate, it's apathy. I can tell by your comments that all of you who say you're through with Star Wars really do care deep down.
Please don't loose hope. We need you guys in the fight. If you drop out, our chances of winning drop too.
We are all here because we love the original Star Wars Trilogy. Don't give up on her, she's only a detention block away. Don't let the moronic guards stop you.

"You make me angry... very angry indeed."
I will be writing a return response declaring my promise not to buy such an inferior product. And I will let them know that it is NOT because I'm not interested in the OOT, either.

*If* the new DVDs turn out to be lame 4X3 letterbox after all, it would be useful to convert it to anamorphic 16X9 widescreen. First of all to watch, and also for use in 'Classic Edition' style editing of the new DVDs.
Can it be done without re-encoding or loosing quality?

Oh, my! Could this be one of the main ideas behind the upcoming DVD release? And it serves them right, if they all were selling copies of Deleted Magic.
EDIT: I would hate it if they gave us an utterly crappy OOT release, for the sole purpose of shutting down fan preservation attempts that could turn out BETTER than their damn product could in the first place!
GOODNIGHT!
