I am not sure, as there are minimal differences.

Does your copy of TPM have added music during the podrace? If not, then it is the latest version.

If it does, then I suggest holding on for whatever is next.

This may sound foolish but I just want to ensure that it can do what I need it to.
It can edit DVDs, for fan editing, correct? I suppose I'll have to rip it with some other program though.

Can anyone recommend Macintosh software for fan editing? I've looked at Apple's site, and all they mention is editing film from a camera.

Looks like the NTSC is up on mininova, and I'm downloading it now.

I can't wait to see the ESB trailer with the newer Emperor. It looks fantastic in the picture.

I will most likely still be primarily conservative with my Star Wars edits this time too. I'm not really trying to significantly alter the story or anything.
But there looks to be a lot of areas to explore that wouldn't have been possible with womble. So we'll see.

Just to let you all know, I will be getting my first mac in a couple of weeks.

Shortly thereafter I will be acquiring some form of Final Cut.

Very shortly thereafter I will begin tinkering with Star Wars again, and plan on producing a totally new set of prequel edits. And maybe, with the wealth of new material available, a hodge-podge OT edit also.

Wow, that really does not need to be theatrical. Just please put it on TV and leave it at that.

I really don't think I'd see it in the theater. Not for $9 nowadays.

Wow, I didn't realize people were interested in this.

Master Qui-Gon, the downloads you found are correct. They were my second, and better, attempt and involved a slightly different list of changes.

Whenever I get a Mac I will hopefully do a 2.0.

So if those download links work, try to use those. If not and anyone wants one, PM me.

Adywan, I am totally stunned with amazement. You have surpassed what any have hoped for in any Special Edition, let alone fan edit!

Please don't let complaining discourage you. Sometimes the greatest things can be the most divisive. Even in a Star Wars community like this.

What's the approximate running time? Are they trimmed very much or about the same length?
Also, were these based from the theatrical or extended versions?

I actually am just finishing my first read-through of The Two Towers, so this project sounds great.

Sounds great! The Two Towers sound daunting to try to do a book-cut. Are you going to re-separate the two narratives into the two discs?
