Star Wars OT & 1997 Special Edition - Various Projects Info (Released)
Time

It sounds crazy to use a source of a non-anamorphic DVD sourced from a piece of shit master from the early nineties and end up with a 25GB file.

Even though I have no hardware capable of playing such media back, I'd be sorely interested in a short video explanation of your process. Perhaps dissect a shot or two and show us what all went in to it.

For the time being, until my home technology advances, your V3 DVDs are my archival "Star Wars Trilogy." And they ain't half bad.

Harmy's STAR WARS Despecialized Edition HD - V2.7 - MKV (Released)

Man, that's pretty neat.

The Death Star explosion seems strange, with such a clean backdrop contrasted with a composite of a bad explosion.

I agree with the above poster about the Falcon sitting in the Death Star.

That shot of the X-wings taking off was spectacular; another instance of a shot that looks "wrong" only because I've never seen it look that good!

What's in your trash can?
Time

This is my trash can.

This is a DVD released in 2004, wrongfully titled "The Empire Strikes Back." Someone named Harmy just gave me a copy of the real movie. I think someone must have put a similar but different film in the wrong DVD box before I bought it.

That's a better place for it. Alert my local garbageman to prepare for its arrival.

Now, this one was really strange. I swear the box said "Star Wars," but there were dinosaurs everywhere. And cartoon robots smackin' each other around. What a crock of shit.

I could find no better place in my home for this accursed plastic circle.

Now I'm really pissed off. If the first two weren't enough, this DVD was in the "Return of the Jedi" box. But when I put it in I saw some fucked up cartoon music video. I don't know what crazy 90's CGI movie that was, but it wasn't no "Jedi."

Strange that all three Star Wars DVDs I bought had the wrong movie in them.

Harmy's THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK Despecialized Edition HD - V2.0 - MKV & AVCHD (Released)
Time

I finally got the chance to sit down and watch this end-to-end on my big monitor with my big 'ol headphones. (It's the best I got, and I had to coax my graphics card to play it fluidly.)

I just want to reiterate, this is a beautiful work. I don't think I've enjoyed Empire this much ever.

Harmy, I sincerely thank you for the hard work and passion you're pouring into these restoration projects. "Public service" indeed.

Bravo and encore!
