Star Wars Episode II: The Approaching Storm (Released)
Time

I like the good ol' "Dooku tosses a thing at Obi-Wan and Anakin" approach. Yoda shows up and nearly bests Dooku through ESB-type Force use, but loses due to his friends being put in danger. The joy inherit in the Yoda vs. Dooku saber duel is how bombastic it is. Like the youngling murder scene in Ep3, it's gotta be the whole thing or nothing.

Even though I'll deny it if you ask, I keep continuity with the broader EU (or whatever it is called now) in mind. I think showing a very quick use of Yoda's saber is a good middle ground, and does well to imply that we've seen the extent to which Yoda is able to perform physical feats.

It seems like that's the case. Star Trek implemented an explicit branching timeline device in order to preserve the old continuity as well as building a new one from a specified branching point.

Star Wars' "Legends" moniker carries the connotation that any or all of these may or may not be 'valid,' and they aren't subject to any hierarchy other than being lumped into one group. It wouldn't make sense to publish further series into a "Legends timeline," because there isn't one. Further Legends material may be possible, but it would implicitly be up to the reader to decide how it all fits together. There isn't, the way its being handled now, a robust framework to install new Legends stories into that would build on other Legends stories. If it happens, it would be messy and ambiguous.

I'm overstating it, but my point is to distinguish this approach from Star Trek's.

Star Wars Episode III: Labyrinth Of Evil (Released)

Sounds like his vocoder got plugged into an amp. It's an interesting concept, having a proto-Vader voice that is still finding its way. I think it would work pretty well if Vader had more than one scene. As it is, it'd seem weird to me to bring in JEJ for a few lines that wouldn't sound much like him. Plus, hearing JEJ's Vader asking about Padme gave me chills on opening day.

If the film had been otherwise, I'd have preferred a proto-Vader with a voice and look that showed a trajectory for the OT Vader, rather than to see Hayden dumped into a fully recognizable OT replica. (And I wonder whether his vocoder automatically enhances Anakin's annunciation. I don't picture the PT Anakin's voice underneath those line deliveries at all.)

I hope you enjoy watching them. Just so you know, both Yoda fights have been removed. I liked it as a 12 year old but now it seems silly. Hope that doesn't detract too much from it for you.

I tried to use the "Noooo" from the ROTJ BluRay, but there was too much music mixed in with it. Nothing I tried was less jarring than just leaving it alone. Its too bad, but the scene is essential given what else I've done. Q2 didn't have to reckon with it because he removed Vader altogether.

Star Wars Episode I: Cloak Of Deception (Released)

There are three formats available, a single-layer DVD, 720p mp4, and 1080p mkv (BR compliant). Each one takes a solid week of encoding on my machine, totaling a minimum of 9 weeks. I picked three formats that would likely be useful to most people, and can't release every combination possible. The 1080p mkv is pretty close in quality and bitrate to the original source, and should be adequate to toss into Handbrake or something if you want to convert it to another format.

What do you LIKE about the EU?

Just finished the 'Empire and Rebellion' duology in anticipation of Heir to the Jedi. Hearing about the supposed plot leaks about TFA, I thought the plot device toward the end of Honor Among Thieves would fit thematically. Without getting into spoilers, it dealt well with how someone like Leia would handle Death Star-level power if she had the opportunity.

JRR Tolkien's The Hobbit: turning a mediocre trilogy into one really good film (Released)

I quite like that clip. It strikes me as mildly (!) odd that Bilbo reacts so strongly and emphasizes the word "last," but that is probably only due to my prior familiarity with the source material.

However, the way it plays out here suggests they expected the sun but immediately found it was the moon that did it.

Episode V: The Ridiculousness Strikes Back
Time

I'm not sure how feasible it is, but perhaps after Luke escapes the wampa and passes out in the snow, the wampa could once again drag him to his lair.

Even less feasible idea: the first time, it's roughly the OOT version (plus whatever weirdness you want to add to it). I.e., we see an arm fall off but no reaction shot. The second time around, we see the reaction shot, which will have been altered to appear as though both arms are now missing.
