Info Wanted: The go to definitive prequel cuts?
Time

Check out listings on FanEdit.org for more detailed information on lots of edits, with ratings and reviews. Many are listed for download on the unrelated site, FanEdit.info. (Mine are listed there too, but the admin hasn’t updated the site in a while. If you decide to check mine out, PM me for links.)
There’s more prequel edits than you can imagine, but FE.org will help orient you to finding one that resonates with what you’re hoping for.

Here’s a proposed implementation of NeverarGreat’s SKB explosion. He has isolated and recreated sound effects, and I’ve segued between this and the film’s soundtrack while adding music from the CD. His work was in stereo, so it has been duplicated into all channels save for the LFE track, leveled by ear against the relative balance of music and sound effects in the film’s soundtrack. When transitioning back to the film at the end, we first crossfade into an upmixed stereo version, then back into 5.1 in order to provide as smooth a transition as possible.

I do not have a 5.1 setup on which to monitor this, but listen to it track by track to compare it to the film itself in the hopes of getting it close to right. Please let me know if you hear any glaring problems.

Revenge of the Sith (The New Canon Cut) [ON HOLD INDEFINITELY]

The “hey” and chuckle both sound like great ideas. I can imagine showing L8wrtr’s TPM (to include the necklace), my AOTC, and your ROTS to an audience that might not be as receptive to Padme surviving the trilogy and might like to see more than one person’s take. In other words, this will be a great alternative edit to my own Ep3 for those who liked it aside from the ending, of which I’ve heard from many.

Welcome, and thank you for lending your voice.

If I follow you, this is the mockup video in question: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AWP1FJQyF6A&feature=youtu.be

I can’t say I disagree. All things considered, this might be the best template to adopt for this scene going forward. Might need some slight tweaking since we aren’t going with TIE fighters in the establishing shot with the Destroyer. If we go this route, which seems like a good idea, I will see about using the TIE sunset shot elsewhere in the edit.

Aside from those two puzzle pieces and the deleted scene, that leaves one more question, which I will submit for discussion.
The rathtars are something that many people have trimmed. A proposed trim of this scene for this project would be to cut from, “What do they look like,” “They look like that!” to Han telling Chewie, "I’ve got the door, cover us!"
It would remove Finn being wrangled by a rathtar tentacle and Rey coming to save him.
Now, I want to be respectful to the intentions of this project, so I would prefer to err on the side of leaving the scene alone, unless there is near universal desire for this particular cut to be made. (Remember, this ain’t my edit!)
