Does anyone happen to have the '77, '80, and '83 sets of opening logos in good 1080p quality? (I believe ESB and ROTJ were identical.)

I wonder if it might just be better to use the original opening logos for this Custom SE, even if they are meant to stand alongside the OOT. I think I’d prefer for a ‘desert island’ version of the saga to be that way, with each trilogy having its own flavor of opening.

I’ll carefully see if there’s anything that would make ANH end up being worth revising again, whether things from the new 19SE or anything else. However, if there really just isn’t, I won’t reissue it just for the logo change and will leave ESB and ROTJ with the SE logos also.

Interesting idea you bring up. He doesn’t seem disturbed by the Jawas eating the egg, and even comically shakes his head. Could still mean what you suggest, even so.

The Mos Eisley speeder shot strikes me as redone, but I can’t do a comparison at the moment.
At least on my screen Hayden’s ghost looks fine.

Wasn’t there a Japanese laserdisc that included the original deleted scene as part of the movie?

If our understanding of their process, they would have had to recreate it since it was a 2004 change.

If the line weren’t removable I’d think that’d be cool. Since it is, why edge it closer to being a Death Star homage?

The scene is unfinished and would need work to address temp effects. As I’ve said I think I agree with RJ’s choice to cut the scene (despite liking it) to leave things hopeful between Luke and Rey before their falling out. Side benefit also, with Luke being truly alone.

And in this case, unlike with Ep3, there’s no drastic, alternate-universe sort of divergence. I respect your question, but I don’t think so for this one. 😕

Thanks for the kind words, and I’m glad that you enjoyed them. if you have access to myspleen, you may be able to find previous versions seated sporadically, no I have not maintained their availability myself. unless there’s something specific you’re looking for about them, most of what you’ll find is nearly a few steps backwards.

You can always get the large file, convert it to your preferred form factor, and slam it into the Trash directory.

Well thanks for saying so. I like TFA too. I was reluctant to do this, but the idea was too elegant not to at least try to implement. After I did a not-truly-viable V1 that I felt was disappointing, NeverAr and Sir Ridley stepped up to deliver a dramatically improved V2.

Nah, I like the old one, and I like that it’s different for ANH. Just because it’s what was there and I like hearing the little audio peculiarities like that.
For all my projects I’ve avoided altering things like logos. For example, I don’t want to add the 20th Century Fox logo or fanfare to TFA or TLJ; it would feel improper.
If the primary source for this Custom SE project remains the 2011 BluRay or lower, I’ll leave the 1997 logos. If substantial portions of the 19SE are used AND I find myself in a position to know this before an intended final version of any of them has been released, I’d probably go ahead and use the new logos seen in the 19SE. (But I wouldn’t reencode and rerelease just for that. If ANH and ESB are done but ROTJ ends up using a great deal from the 19SE, I would still use the 1997 logos for ROTJ for consistency’s sake.)

How might it look to only desaturate all but the red colors about halfway?

Yeah, it’d probably be cool to see season 1 turned into a take-your-time slow paced spaghetti western.

It doesn’t at all seem that a robust ‘FanFix’ would be in order, just a TV-to-movie.

Same goes for the eventual Kenobi series.
