Wrong thread. That was meant for the Custom SE thread.
Wrong thread. That was meant for the Custom SE thread.
Finally got the wheels turning on getting things into shape for ROTJ. I’ve got so little time to dedicate to anything leisurely, but I’m focusing on this for now. I’ll have some work, it seems, getting everything in sync and speaking the same language.
I’d still love and welcome Sir Ridley adding SE Sarlacc tentacles to the OOT footage, but I’m going to release a V1 without this, and treat it as though it were final. But I’ll keep everything else around for if and when he does do that.
I’m going to experiment with the video settings to see if I can make the 19SE transfer take maybe like a quarter-step toward the 1997/2011 look, to partially capitulate to my edits of ANH and ESB, which were sourced from the 2011 transfers.
Might be a little weird. Makes it seem like his post-ROTS memories are gone, yet he references ‘Master Luke’ a moment or two later.
I really like the idea that R2 has to talk to him, telling him his stories and so forth. But that’s probably outside the realm of fan editing.
Yeah, that’s right. Google just picks for you, not always helpfully.
That looks and feels so much better and more fitting than I imagined it would. Thank you, sir.
If anyone has any such audio from other media, send that to me, too. Ideally, leaving it all up to the likes of us is an appealing idea, but wouldn’t hurt to gather as much together as possible for starters.
?
Which version?
The Separatist murder should have taken place first, since Anakin probably would’ve liked to kill those guys anyway. Then once he’s got a taste for blood he can be sent to the Jedi temple. There’d have to be a reason for him to go to a lava setting after that, though, because as we all know the duel took place with lava.
Yeah, the eyes are only possible for official, ordained Sith that filed the paperwork.
Poppasketti, wow, man! That’s awesome. And good discussion about it since; I had my fingers ready to type what you all already have.
His face shouldn’t be the full monster face, even if they’re sort of soulless. They can be that way or healthy looking, as though they deteriorate quickly when possessed. It’s perfectly fine if each face seen is different, like it’s an imprecise science.
Aren’t there stitches on his hands? Maybe there can be a few other body parts in there. A hand, a leg, a cartoonishly large schlong.
That’s what I’m going for, a collection of various things like that that can be thrown together to characterize the fleet and give hopefully several of you all a fun way to do a cameo.
Send ‘em to me.
EDIT: what I mean is that I said that some pages back. But yes, send me audio clips of all y’all saying things like that in whatever kind of voices you like. I’ve got three people’s worth so far, all saying “For Skywalker.” But any kind of chatter you can come up with, whether you have a specific idea of where it can go or not, would be helpful. So it’s not just four seconds when we hear them talk.
So yes, if you’re reading this, send me a recording right now of yourself calling out “For Skywalker” or something similar and anything else your character would say in that situation. Since it’ll all be over commlink, it’s okay if the sound quality is absolute shit!
Lol, nice. Thanks! I’m sure I’ll find other uses for it.
I like moving Rey’s repeat of “nothing’s impossible” to right as she’s heading away. Seems more like she sincerely agrees with the reminder rather than petulantly deflecting it.
I’m not sure, but I might do two versions: Rey Palpatine and Rey Nobody.
In Palpatine version, it’s sort of addressed by Kylo saying “you were right… your parents were no one… they chose to be to protect you.” It’s still a “certain point of view” thing. But her mother won’t say “she isn’t on Jakku she’s gone” because my version of TLJ doesn’t require them to die on Jakku.
In Nobody version, I think it’d have to be that they truly were drunkard deadbeats who get killed. Rey feels angry that her parents were killed in principle, even if they weren’t great. She probably still has a sense of wishing for them, even if it was always sort of wishful thinking on her part.
Sounds delicious.
Not that I’d want to actually put it into a ‘desert island’ version of ROTJ, but I’d be interested in seeing a DSII explosion that could even potentially allow for its wreckage as seen in TROS.
Looks great! With Luke stable, I think that portion is perfect now.
I wouldn’t want her to glow purple any further, but here it looks like it’s just the glow from the saber.
I guess Luke was acting rashly, against his masters’ insistence. Whereas Rey is like a new Force messiah. Just different situations.
I think Rey glowing is more appropriate than a shield that doesn’t deflect anything.
Or to cause one. (A) Palpatine’s shenanigans begin again.
I guess we shouldn’t be surprised to learn you’re a big-shot pro! Thanks for sharing that. We’re glad to have you around.
I don’t disagree. I had the aim of trying to tie it into TLJ.
Not at all. I haven’t found a crawl I really like yet, so it could change anyway by the end.
Did people who grew up with movies in PAL feel like they were slowed down when switching to HD.
PM sent
That looks very nearly flawless! Within the maximum nitpick zone, when they first appear it still looks like Luke was caught off guard and is getting into position.
Obi-Wan looks perfect now. Yoda is right, looking as we just saw him a movie ago. Anakin is recognizable, but the footage isn’t, and Luke has the right look and expression.
Terry, welcome. Thanks for the idea. Personally I like restricting the ghosts to those we’ve seen already, and adding more starts to make it questionable. It’s a way to still sort of harmonize with what the end of ROTS seems to want to say. Not drawing a hard line, but that’s my read on it. I’m glad we get to hear Qui-Gon, but I don’t need to see him.
