Lol, thank you.
Lol, thank you.
Well, this project was completed over a decade ago, so I was using something called Womble MPEG editor and more or less following the ooold AdigitalMan guide around here. And I’m 99% sure I lifted that FX shot from Kerr’s old ‘book cuts.’
100% correct.
Thanks for the continuing feedback. You all did a wonderful job on this, and it has been fulfilling to see this come together.
And I’m glad my commentary track is being enjoyed, even if I find it annoying to listen to! I sound like I was woken to record it at 2:47AM.
Add the opening red and blue ‘helmet’ intro sequence from Disney+ SW shows between the ALTAIAGFFA card and the opening crawl of all saga films.
I’d certainly welcome that, and agree it was the biggest opportunity left on the table for V1. I suppose if, working backward, you reached the point kewlfish left off, by that point it may not be so troublesome to finish the rest of the footage.
But, hey, that’s easy for me to say.

He never sent me any final renders, just clips to preview. 😕
If he ever surfaces to send what he has completed, though, I believe it was through the fight in Kylo’s bedroom.
Thanks, I’m really glad this is being enjoyed.
And thanks, Muffy, for typing out those instructions. I just added that to the FAQ.
And yeah… you answered your own question. Lol
If anyone would like to type out the directions that YouTube clip (which I haven’t looked at), I can add it to the FAQ on the Drive sooner.
Well it wouldn’t match or need to be edited; if someone wants to listen to my commentary they could just listen to it on the default version of the edit.
Glad to be listed in the Special Thanks! Cheers to another completed Hal-9000 fanedit!
And thank for posting those tips for the Drive!
Cool! That commentary… ain’t, ain’t my best. Lol
Hal, will you release a .mp4 (“Tiny encode”) or 720p file for V1? (sorry if this has already been asked).
Yes, coming real soon. I like to wait to encode them until the 1080p version is 100% finished because it makes it easier. Should be up by tomorrow morning, I expect.

It’ll be on the spleen, but once I have cover art to include.
Sorry Google Drive decided to stop being cool. 😕
Yeah, I tried filling out the entire submission form three separate times and a cryptic error kept it from letting it through, as though a field was missing or something to that effect. I said ‘to hell with it’ and sort of forgot.
But yeah, the V1 is on its way up now to the Drive. The 1080p version for now, sans cover art. Should be uploaded within 6 hours.
The thread title can be updated to say RELEASED.
Yes, please.
The 1080p version is on its way up now, with the rest to follow once cover artwork arrives.
It exists!
I don’t have any other way to host these hundreds of GB of stuff. 😦
Subs are in, so it’s down to the artwork!
I will probably just go ahead and get things ready and upload them whenever I can rather than wait, at least for Google Drive. Hoping to have enough time to get things together this week!
Shoutout to OhTeeDee for providing source material for this. Similar to working on ANH using Harmy’s De- and Re-Specialized editions, this makes it a lot easier.
For ROTJ, which I’ll revise first, it makes it practically a no-brained. I don’t mind overwriting work already done in pursuit of a better end result. So, thanks, OhTeeDee.

Ugh, not a good sign. Dammit!
Lightspeed travel has been depicted as rapid travel, not teleportation. It’d be like me having a jet plane, traveling to various places on Earth. It still takes me longer to travel to Paris from LA than to New York City.
What I see in the lightspeed skipping sequence is randomly popping up all over the globe, which doesn’t make sense.
