The Rise of Skywalker: Ascendant (Released)
Time

As I finish working on an update to my ANH project, the only thing outstanding about my SW edits is the Rey Nobody version of TROS. That aside, being an alternate cut anyway, things have never felt this complete. Like it’s time to let it be.
It’s been a great experience the past 8 years or so putting these together. It’s been a hobby and communal thing. There’ll be some sadness, but I know it can’t go on forever.
I will stick around in any event, and I won’t say “never,” even if I set things down intending to do so for good with SW fan editing. I know there’s work to be done yet, but at the same time, it feels like I’d better plan to “retire” once it is.

If the right idea grabs me, I would be happy to tinker with other things, but the SW saga can soon be laid to rest comfortably. And that feels good to this looooongtime OT.com weirdo.

The Clone Wars: Refocused [COMPLETE]

CLONE WARS WEDNESDAYS?

One other thing I’ve been thinking is that, once I’ve properly got going with this, I can probably output at least one edit a week (since I have a good amount of available time some won’t require much at all, so I can kind of queue them up) - what do you all think about doing ‘Clone Wars Wednesdays’ where I’ll release one every Wednesday? That way we can all watch and feedback, and it’s both a small weekly commitment where feedback can be given in a focused way, plus a simulated weekly release cycle so helps us to judge the pacing of the show as a whole? It’d help me pace myself too, and keep the momentum up.

Oohhhh, event viewing. I like this idea!

You think you’ll make a trailer for your Sequel edits like you did for your edits of the Prequels, Hal?

I played with the idea a couple weeks ago but found I didn’t have the right time and energy for it. For that prequel trailer I really just overlaid clips to the TFA trailer’s music. I think if I were to, I’d do something similar with another film’s trailer music. But it didn’t work out when I last sat down with the idea. Idk

Is the Force ghosts behind Rey scene available without the purple lightsaber in HD? Personally, I like it more but it goes against canon too much for me so I’m planning on removing it.

Of course, if the crackly saber edit gets finished by anyone, and two versions are made (blue Leia saber with crackly Anakin saber and Force ghosts and then alternatively purple Leia saber with crackly Anakin saber and Force ghosts), that would work too.

PM me and I can send you that clip. It does exist.

And thanks, ThatPixarGuy, that’s great to hear. I think this edit is the most “whoa look at that” out of the nine. I echo your thanks and congratulations to everyone who contributed, including keeping discussion healthy.

The ‘Custom Special Edition’ That Almost Wasn’t, But Then Was (Released)
Time

When I started this, the Special Edition versions all had the prequel-era logos. So, for a Custom SE version I figured that’d feel right.
However, at least ROTJ would use the new 19SE as a source, which uses the modern LFL logo (which does not feel like it fits with the opening fanfare).

Rather than feel like the OT should try to “pick a side,” I would just rather let each trilogy have its own distinct opening flavor. No fuss and avoids awkwardness.
