I think that’s right.
I think that’s right.
Wow. I am blown away with this. Is there edit of the movie with this in it?
Yeah, man: mine!
And fair enough, just wanted to make sure you had the option.
Feel free to use what Sir Ridley did for my project if you’d like to depict them in hyperspace for that scene.
PM me for files.
I agree the “ally” line works best in that clip as it is edited.
Would it work to move the 3PO shot to right after the long shot that had a line removed.
“Are you Resistance?”
“That depends.”
beat
“I am a highly trained Resistance spy.”
The Wayfinders reveal the path to Exegol, shrouded from (the) light. Only this blade tells of their location. To the wielder’s inner darkness it whispers direction/guidance. Only this blade tells.
(I think the idea is that Rey knows that two were supposedly made, but doesn’t know Kylo had one. Or at least not on his secondary backup TIE.)
That’s AWESOME. I love that line. Especially with 3PO being literally out of his mind.
After the interrupted execution scene…
Troop: “What’s your operating number?” (Or new line)
3PO: “I am a highly trained resistance spy.”
Troop: “I doubt it.” (Or) “And I’m the King of Spain.” (Or something else)
^ She should know there are two. Lando told her, “Only two were made.”
I mean when Kylo tells her, “The Dark Side is in our nature. Surrender to it.” And, “…but you’ve proven you’re something else.”
That’s not bad, Cap’n. It seems maybe a little redundant to have Wayfinder and “find… way.” Also, just to be clear, I worded a few things to try to set up Kylo’s ‘gotcha’ when he grabs the Wayfinder on the DSII.
And that clip works well, Sherlock! Because it’s so tight, a hilarious 3PO line might actually drown out the rest of the scene. “Is everyday like this for you people” might work best.
If we end up with a clean(ed) line about being a “highly trained resistance spy,” maybe it could replace the lines when he’s chatting with a stormtrooper on the star destroyer.
The path to Exegol cannot be found in the light. Only this blade tells. A wielder must embrace the darkness within to hear the call, to find the way. Only this blade tells.
I don’t know, it still doesn’t communicate anything solid from the dagger.
The Sith fortress on Exegol is hidden from the light. Surrender to the darkness within to find the way. To the wielder’s dark nature, only this blade tells.
Or something like that. Stated bluntly, to emphasize the gist trying to be conveyed:
Exegol can’t be found by light side use. You have to give in to your dark side to find the Wayfinder. This blade tells, but only addresses your darker nature (so get in touch with it and let it grow ears).
where can one find this edit?
PM sent.
Also, I second Jar Jar’s take on the castle mock-up so far.
Here’s a stab at some dubbed 3PO lines:
The Sith fortress on Exegol is hidden from the light. The Wayfinders reveal the path to their acolytes. To those it chooses, only this blade tells.
The Sith fortress on Exegol is hidden from the light. The Wayfinders reveal the path to acolytes of the dark. To those it chooses, only this blade tells.
I like the idea of having iambic pentameter or other poetic elements, save for rhyming. Even for SW, it seems weird to immediately translate into rhymed, poetic rendering.
omg lol, that’d be perfect if there’s a clean source for it.
I can imagine absolutely busting out laughing in the theater in that moment.
I don’t think Chase recorded a line, did he? It was from TCW or something, right? RIGHT?
Oh, and I missed that; yes, “I am C-3PO, human cyborg relations” might work well! Just to note: he did already say that when he woke up after losing his memory.
To repeat myself, I’ve been preoccupied with something but it’s being chipped away at and one of these nights I’ll be able to catch up with my TROS:A V2 to-do list. I’m backed up, but it’s just a matter of having the time and doing the things on the list.
I do think “Is every day like this for you people” could work. To me, the most important piece that needs to really work well is the 3PO redub. I can’t tell you how many audio clips I had sent in for the civilian fleet that had to be excluded or buried because, as much as I appreciate the submissions, they do not at all sound like they came from a billion-dollar movie. (Still, everyone who sent me something is technically in there!)
Oh, I had another idea for the Reconnaissance briefing, which I think Hal would be interested in as well:

Just popped in and I am sorry if this has been mentioned since this post. But, I feel like this would merely open a new plot hole: why the hell isn’t the Senate or Hosnian system being evacuated? In Restructured the target is unknown in order to allow the plot structure to make just enough sense.
He’s just had his mind wiped and may be totally ignorant of the state of galactic politics.
He could say something like, “Who’s resisting?” or something like that.
PM sent.
Nice. Any good 3PO snippets? Chase?
Glancing at the scene. Yeah, that will probably work fine. Let’s keep the 3PO dub angle going, and implement it best we can, and THEN take a hard nosed look and see if it feels seamless and theatrical.
Y’all are awesome. lol at “non-transferable skill.” Too real.
Well let’s definitely keep that plan running and see how it goes!
Give Unklar Plutt a thick English accent.
Maybe as a little reality check for us, I just saw that Mark Hamill recently said that Lucas had attempted to get the Daffy Duck short ‘Duck Dodgers in the 24th and a half Century’ to play before the original Star Wars to let the audience know it wasn’t meant to be overly serious.
That said, even if the 3PO thing doesn’t pan out… it’s okay. And the work and poetry and recordings and all of it are still good and enjoyable even so.
Feeling exhausted and fried tonight. Nothing to do with this project, but I wanted to chime in at least and voice my skepticism that the 3PO dub idea will truly feel seamless and fit into the film in a way that doesn’t cause more issues.
And even if it doesn’t manifest here, I hope it does in another project.
I guess yeah, since the telepathic conversation between Kylo and Palpatine has been moved to earlier, one could infer perhaps he told Kylo where to find Rey. Without the dagger, though, I guess the emperor gave him detailed instructions about a place he only visited once and never in it’s destroyed state.
I meant have 3PO’s Sith speech still give that implication while still saying “it’s on Endor duh-errrrr.”
