Glad to hear the picture sounds better than everyone was expecting! I'm looking forward to picking mine up tomorrow now
I was going to order from play.com, but I wasnt sure they'd send them in time for release day, or send them out on release day (thus getting to me by the end of the week...)

So its a quick trip round HMV, Virgin, Smiths and Woolies tomorrow morning. And then all damn day at work b4 I can watch them. Poo.

Definitely - I havent had DVD Devrypter fail me yet! Is it sad I have all 6 SW movies plus Return of the Ewok and Deleted Magic all on my HD cos its quicker to access than getting the discs out?

Mmm - strange about the LCD tellies. I just replaced my tube telly with an HD Hyundai LCD, and the difference in quality is phenomenal. I agree about the 'total black' argument, but the quality of the image really is excellent.

I have to agree. LFL keep pushing these half-finished products out the door. In some respects you cant blame them. The 2004 DVDs sold well. The new ones will sell well. The ARE a business after all. I think they are just playing the market. The 2007 Box set will probably have had a lot more work done on it - possibly (*gasp*) - a branching version?????
They are using these intermittent releases to fund that.

yes - it was recomposited due to Fett being half-missing. What amuses me to great extent is the amount of shots that have been recomposited - which to my mind obviously means they have all the original film elements. Which they deny strenuously.

Daft buggers.

I cant name another company that actually tries to piss off its most loyal fanbase.......

Please forgive another novice.....but what filter do you guys recommend for outputting the file? I tried, for example, ripping the 2004 DVDs and outputting a small section as DV, then DivX, then mpeg - all highest quality setting. But none of the outputs matched the clarity of the input.
Any ideas?

I think the worst thing the colour 'correction' did was to turn the Empire blue instead of grey.......

I cant seem to find any screenshots from the DVDs except the ones posted here - where have you seen 'lots'? - I'd love to see them so I can get comparing!!

On a different note, I just got a lovely hi-def TV today and the 2004 DVDs look far better through that than I previously thought. Like many here, I was a bit put-off by the bluish tint to everything, but it really didnt seem so bad.

Felt I had to chime in - I havent visited this site for a long time (since it seemed that we'd all got our wish) - but with the recent apparent debacle of the official DVD OUTs, I'd just like to say 'thanks' to the x0project!
I've just been looking round the site and the dedication you guys have is incredible. It looks brilliant - I especially liked the mini-tutorials btw - very interesting. Fantastic starfield software too!!!!

Yup - you got it - I'm the one that played Fuser. Yes, I'm sorry about the voices - Vader's in particular has had people confused - I guess I got it too bassy. Still, honestly, could you tell it was me???? - only 2 of us in the film you see..
