Found the sign-up link. In case anyone else is wondering, you need to go to the Despecialized Facebook page, and it’s there.
S’alright. I wasn’t trying to be critical regarding the number of times it’s been discussed, just saying that it’s more than just me weighing in with my opinion. Not that we can’t be collectively wrong.
Not answering the question at all, but giving it a bump and adding my own bonus question (hope that’s okay).
Whatever version they show, if a Chinese dub is created for it, just make sure the audio ends up my way. I am all over despecializing that.
This has been discussed many times elsewhere. The consensus seems to be – no, there’s no indication of there being an 85 mix for ESB and ROTJ of any sort, substantive or not. Minor differences reported from release to release are not inconsistent with the slight variation of a single mix applied over multiple releases.
Also AFAICT, there’s no content difference (i.e. different dialogue or effects) in the 93 mix of Jedi.
I know you’re probably collecting VHS tapes for some sentimental reason and there’s nothing wrong with that, but I do want to remind you that there are much, much, better ways out there to hear the 77/80/83/85/93 mixes.
So I know I’m old and the whole Internet thing baffles and frightens me, but am I the only one who doesn’t see any sign up link in, under, or near the YouTube video?

I’m assuming you re-entered the classic Jedi Rocks back in for goofs and gaffs, right?
Naw, the Rancor tentacle shoots at Han first.

It’s a more common story than you’d think. I actually know two separate people who went through very similar things (one had to drive hundreds of miles to get the procedure that would keep her from dying from blood poisoning from her stillborn twins). It is very personal and many people don’t talk about it, so people tend to think they’re alone. Thank you for sharing, Frink.
I’m sure somewhere on the Internet, someone must have mentioned that an episode number that wasn’t there before was added in 1981, leading to this thread. The episode number in question was Episode IV, with the new title A New Hope, added the the film previously known only as Star Wars. Empire was always Episode V from day one.
No, you have to use a special UDF filesystem to be Video-DVD compatible. If it’s not the right filesystem, your player will see it as a data disc and may not do anything with it. I’d recommend ImgBurn–I understand it works in Wine so you could technically get it running on a Mac. Also, you may find some option menu in the software you’re using where it gives you filesystem options–you want a video DVD, not a data DVD.
And who knows, if in the meantime I find a good enough reason to live life, I can quit then.
Here’s where your basic pessimistic outlook on life may actually help. Sure, you can imagine a happy shiny world where you find a reason to live, cut way the hell back on your drinking in time to save your liver, and live happily ever after. You can even image a not-so-shiny world where you fail to find a reason to live, your liver fails, and you’re no longer bound to this mortal coil. But you know what would be decidedly un-shiny? What would be the worst possible thing? You find a reason to live, but you also find out that your liver is shot and you’re not long for the life you’ve grown to love. Now, I’m not actually trying to be heavyhanded here–as a lifelong pessimist, I really can’t help but see things certain ways. Consider your options carefully and completely. Please.

They are all 720p. As long as Harmy’s primary source is the 2011 Blu-rays, there’s not much point in doing a higher-res version, since the Blu-rays don’t have any real detail above 720p beyond sharpening artifacts. If someday a better-quality SE release comes out (e.g. the rumored Reliance Media 4K scan), that might open the door to 1080p versions, but the problem is that all the despecialized shots would need to be re-despecialized from scratch–a major undertaking.
In the much more likely scenario that a better-quality fan preservation based on a film scan comes out, Harmy’s been fairly candid that there’s no need to despecialize something that’s not SE to begin with, so he wouldn’t see the need to do anything at all with it. I’d personally see a benefit from mixing in a few extra frames from another source at the reel changes to get it GOUT-synced (and thus have access to all our audio tracks), but a lot more people would be capable of doing that than just Harmy.

Estimated release dates for the DeEd’s are an inside joke here. One estimate provided from Harmy himself was over a year off. So, in short, you’re not going to get accurate estimates, except maybe a few hours before the actual release you might have a shot.
Now, if you’re not satisfied with that, I can provide you with some wildly inaccurate estimates based on my patented Predicto-Vision method. ROTJ DeEd 2.0 will be released 3/14/2016 at about 3pm UTC, ESB DeEd 2.5 will be released 11/26/2016 at about 10am UTC, and ROTJ DeEd 2.5 will be released 6/2/2017, completely coincidentally also at about 10am UTC.

As I’ve said in the past, the HS is a rite of passage. You’re not truly a Star Wars fan until you’ve seen the whole thing at least once.
And those who find it intolerable know nothing of hell. 😉
It’s on youtube. Watch it! I triple dog dare you!
Pfft, child’s play. Four words that will leave you begging to watch either of the aforementioned holiday specials: Revenge of the Sith

At the moment, I am re-timing the alien subtitles to match theatrical timing.
…
The problem is that if I release the re-timed project before any preservations actually use theatrical timing for the alien subtitles, then Project Threepio’s timing will just seem off, sometimes badly so.
On a hunch, I checked my new subtitle timing against dark_jedi’s ROTJ V3 DVD preservation, and sure enough, it’s a match. So I was wrong–apparently we’ve had enough clues about subtitle timing for some time now, ROTJ Despecialized v1 just didn’t use them. I don’t know if the V3 timing is frame-accurate or not (that point’s not important to me), but it’s certainly theatrical give or take a frame or two.
So I guess I could release the project with updated timing and it wouldn’t fail to sync up with the alien subs on every ROTJ preservation out there, just not ROTJ DeEd v1. The odd thing is that this project originally got its timing from the V3 DVD’s, and I later changed it to match the DeEd’s as the version 2’s started coming out.
Anyway, the project isn’t in any state to release just yet anyway, but maybe I don’t have to wait for Harmy after all.
It’s still pending. We’re all on pins and needles. And mouse droppings.
I’m gonna be pretty stubborn on the names thing though haha sorry I just can’t bring myself to put just the year to differentiate them all.
Hey, as long as you don’t mind there being a Finaler Edition and Finalerer Edition someday.
